It's an absolutely fine rod. Been on several trips with it now. The conviencience is amazing. Biggest issue i have is lining up the rod holes straight.
I got 1.8m 7 to 21g and the rod is awesome the handle looked cheap and short but after using it for over a year I realised how good it is and why and I am going to review it my self against a westin w4 3 to 7g. This Shimano will cast micro jigs as well. I have used 0.6 with a plastic berkley banana flavor worm. And the best weight for small pond works the 1.2g Jighead with the worm. I use a size 1000Dam quick 2 reel with it. Perfect. I will buy another one for my nephew.
I have the same rod but I dont think the handle pops off.I not use it much so it's still in good condition. Its with a Sedona shimano 2500 golden looking reel
@WestysAngling ledger with bite alarms. its actually got a good playing action. pond I use it on is a 20-minute walk. no acces by car. only on foot, so it is perfect, fits in my fishing bag.
Great video and has convinced me to go for this rod. Would you think that going for the 2.4m 10-30g version is better if I want to do some maggot course fishing as well as lure? Look forward to your opinion 👍
One thing I've never tried is lure fishing, might have to seriously consider having a go this winter 😊 that's if I can pull myself away from my feeder rods and get my backside out of bed on those cold mornings 😂 nice film as always Matt 💪
Nice one mate, fishing my neck of the woods there. The first stretch you were on does hold a lot of pike/perch. Local lads have loads from there. If you’d gone right on the canal rather than left, just up passed the factories there’s a patch of reeds, had plenty from there. On the rufford branch, you’re better missing the first few stretches, get on meadow lane, or up by the rufford marina, some bigguns up there. 👍🏻
nice video guys ..cant beat a spikey..top lure...tight lines ..matt ...ya dad nailed it as always...
thanks for the wafters m8 smell lush and fast delivery cannot wait try them out this week :)

@@WestysAngling thanks.... In the end I decided on the 2.1m, but thanks for coming back to me 👍👍👍
@wigster1966 I was thinking about buying this rod too, how's it going?
If I only know where I can go for a nice walk and try spinning fishing

Brilliant advice! Been out recently and had a much better session! Had some nice pike 💪🏻🐊
@@WestysAngling nice one mate, I’m out Saturday for perch. May just visit some canal spots.
May i ask, do you need a special licence or permit to fish canals?
You do ! It depends on the canal. Mostly governed by different angling societies
Can u do a review on the nytro commercial carp feeder rod but the 11 foot version
Personally I would be going for 10ft if it’s for normal commercials 👌🏻💪🏻 nytro is on the list !
@@WestysAngling just make sure u do the NTR version
That will be great
Those Sienna reels are quite nice for the money. I’ve got a pair on my spinning rods and can’t fault them
They definitely are ! Plastic feel to them but seem strong 💪🏻
