Katherine is such a misunderstood girl I feel bad for Katherine like Klaus Stefan and Damon did worse things and got redemption but she was a girl that lost her daughter ( was never able to hold her) She was kicked out of her country , at 17 , she met klaus and Elijah and fell in love with them but then klaus wanted to kill her so she ran and killed herself so she could run faster she meets Stefan and Damon they fall in love with her then she turns them into vampires since she knew they were going to die she saved their life’s millions of times and Stefan loved her in Season 5 again but Julie messed her character with the traveler thing and the Cure thing she deserved better than anyone ♥️♥️♥️♥️🙄🙄🙄

I love her fashion sense, walk, boldness, and way she allows herself to execute her compulsiveness as well as her looks to her advantage. She is adaptive because her life has been filled and consumed with danger her entire life, but is still spontaneous. I guess she's had to make a lot of split decisions. I always loved Katherine's character, she wasn't as weak minded and frail as Elena. Always getting saved and making her loved ones pay for her shit. But when Nina came back in the final episode she had really lost her mojo to play these characters, these 2 years away didn't do her any favors and that wig is probably the worst I've ever seen. You'd think with a show that makes that much money they'd spring for a decent freaking wig! I couldn't focus on the story or the acting in her scenes at all it was so alarmingly bad! I think Nina made a mistake walking away from the show but I can surely understand why she didn't want to act opposite her ex any longer, but man I wanted to see the ending they had really planned before Nina bailed.
Pretty sure nina was planning on leaving before the end since the beginning of the show. She mentioned that a bunch of times in interviews

Hamad B “since the show started” seems like a little bit of a stretch. maybe after her & ian split / towards the later seasons before she left is when she wanted to part ways. but katherine definitely deserved a better ending than the crap the writers came up with (which also had to do w nina scheduling from promoting another movie)
Anna Elena literally sacrificed her own life in season 2 to protect her loved ones. She saved her friends& family just as often they saved her. Katherine just didnt have anybody, because she treated people like shit. Damon& Stefan both would have given her life for Katherine, but she never trusted them. She had a hard life, but it’s her own fault too. And I think Nina did a good job in the finale, the writing for Katherine was just bad. Her character deserved way better.

Fun fact: Nina Dobrev is nauseated by blood of any kind and still was surrounded by it daily on the job. Go Nina. As for Katherine, I just want her outfits tbh. Nina Dobrev is really beautiful, but that limits her in the parts she can play in a way. She *may* never be the kind of pretty girl who is actually secretly pretty. She is obviously pretty. Lilly Collins is a good example of this. She can play a hot girl and she can play the modest beauty girl, too. And as for Elena, I don't think she makes anyone die for her, but because she's so loved and so good, people want to. That's not her fault, at all. Katherine may be stronger but that's only because she built a life where she's all alone. Not to mention...Katherine is literally about 600 years old and Elena is 17 years old.

Brooke List i don’t exactly hate elena but i did find her a bit hypocritical. Especially when she tried to kill klaus multiple times, her reason being he killed a lot of people. Damon killed Jeremy, Stefan killed multiple small towns, Caroline even killed a person. So why is she trying to kill Klaus just for killing Jenna. Like I understand why she would be angry and upset, but those people Damon and Stefan killed also had people who loved them 🤷🏻♀️

Nina said she only signed for 6 years, actually the cast did then it was one season at a time after that and she said Julie knew she was leaving after season 6. I wish she woulda stayed a little longer but honestly the show probably needed to end anyway. I’m sure Ian added to stress but she seemed mature about it. She wanted to try new things she was very talented so you can’t blame her. I do wish she had been in more of Season 8 or that the series finale had been longer bc her two characters didn’t get the justice they deserved at the end.

She is still, to this day, my favorite TV show character. I am devasted that they ended her so early in the series and then brought her back just to kill her again, IN THE SAME EPISODE.
