I really don't want to be that jerk on the video saying YOU USED IT WRONG .... but the sillisponge is supposed to be used in sweeping or circular motions, not dabbing. It's seriously not going to work right if you dab with it like that ....

I got one of these sillisponges too, and I find that it works best by swiping the foundation on with it, and not dabbing or patting it. It works great by swiping/buffing.

That's why I love Bunny's reviews XD If a company fails to make Bunny use it correctly, they failed completely imho xD Everyone says you need to use circular motions in comments but is it really that hard by the company to make that clear, like.. anywhere? It's not that hard to place an image with the item and a big circular motion on the package lmao. I'd probably do the same thing and just dab.

It probably came with instructions though. I'd actually be very surprised if it didn't. I've been watching this channel for a few years and Bunny has failed to thoroughly read instructions on more than a few occasions.
If it didn't come with instructions then I don't know what the heck this company thinks they're doing. Especially since it isn't used the same way as a beauty blender.
Captain Karen Obvious I've heard in other review videos that the sillisponge did not come with instructions. The only reason we really know it's supposed to be done in sweeping motions is by trial and error of other reviewers.

Not really for what I have found. Even Google didn't give me direct hits, it's some deep digging and the only one I found who mentioned proper instructions how both side could be used was a blogger who tried it. Not the company. Using circular or back and forth motion, tap to blend is mentioned though but that is it. That's all and that only proves Bunny's point. They also don't say anything about using both sides and which side for what for etc. Or how much foundation? If there are people that just don't get it - for whatever reason, or maybe a make up newbie - it's a risk to the company if the item is used wrong? It just happens that some people don't make sense out of it and need some real instructions, either in video text or images.

You probably need good lighting to see how patchy your foundation really is. lol fingers are not good applicators.

I've had my ears close up a couple times. All she has to do is reopen them. I popped earrings with the sharp ends threw them and it was fine.

All you have to do id's apply dandruff shampoo and a few drops of warm water over the site and wait about 1/2 hour before Robinson off. My nurse suggested this after my ears had been closed for several years and it's worked every time I've tried it.

I think the main draw to this product is for hygiene and cleanliness. Its easy to clean, it won't have any moisture from water which means no mold? Am I wrong? Sure sounds funny when its slapping ya face though.
Bexy Rae in theory yes but over time almost any material can accumulate mold cause most things r porous. allot of people over hype the porous nature of silicone, any one with stretched ears will tell u silicone (which is what contributes to the mold cause the holes in porous materials lock moisture) is definitely not 100% porous free.
amethyst heart You're correct that silicone is not 100% nonporous, but it has an additional property which makes harboring bacteria difficult: it's hydrophobic. That means that with regular, simple cleaning with a mild soap and water, silicone will absolutely hold out for decades of use. It's likely leaving body oils or water on silicone that causes mold in plugs; that, or the material is not truly food-grade silicone.
ShinySavvy I didn't denie any of those aspects or find them nessisary, she asked if it was possible to not get mold buildup cause it's silicone and I said in theory yes cause it would be very difficult, is it impossible? no cause it's still porous, is it likely? no.
amethyst heart I'm not knocking on your post. It just gave off an air that silicone is not as good as people make it out to be, and just wanted to help clarify that despite silicone being technically porous, it is miraculously safer than porous, non-hydrophobic, and non-hypoallergenic materials such as other rubbers and plastics.
ShinySavvy i never said anything to belittle silicone but to act as if it's impossible when presented with that question would be dishonest. I never even gave advice for a "better" alternative, I basically just said "pretty much" when presented a question. Can u get an infection from sterilized surgical tool? Yes. is it likely? No. Is that discrediting the serialization process? No. Is it presenting a honest possibility if In a hypothetical situation I was asked that question? Yes.

I mean I love her style, that she just rolls with it. But it's even on the website where you order it. Not really anything you get influenced by if you look it up on how to use it.
I use the orange Real Techniques beauty blender (I think it's called the Miracle Sponge). It's $6 at Target. I can't say if it's as good as a $20 beauty blender, but I love it. It gives me a nice, flawless airbrushed finish 😊
NailsInTheCityy omg I just bought it to use for blending out concealer under my eyes (since I only use powder foundation I don't need it for that) and the brushes I have aren't really the right shape for my under eyes. (I've got a really really really tiny face for a nineteen year old so most brushes are too big for my face)
I love because she does not get in drama and she tells the truth. But she is light hearted and fun at the same time. That is why I have been subscribed to her for 4 years. I love you Bunny.

abbey rose Just wash it with bar soap or Castile soap (not liquid hand soap, it doesn't work as well), then leave it out to dry for three days in the best-ventilated spot you can find.
I would recommend a solid bar if soap as well, i feel it works well. Just depending on the sponge you have, don't squeeze too hard 'cause it might break.
abbey rose I think she has said before that she uses her murad face wash to was her beauty blender and then she rinses it with rubbing alcohol to sanitize it.
The Sephora solid brush cleanser works AMAZING for the beauty blender!

Has anyone mentioned how fabulous your skin is looking?? You always look terrific, but your skin = flawless.
Bunny, you always look flawless, with or without makeup. Beauty comes from the inside and you have plenty of it!!! Also try retesting it by just rubbing the product on your face with it instead of dabbing it, covers more and less patchy that way.
I just watched both videos, and I really love how u always try to treat ur experiments with controlled variables and isolate ur honest opinion about what u think. love it.

the biggest drawback of bb's isn't them absorbing too much - it's that they're extremely unhygienic
wh....what? you use your fingers as a tampon? anyways, for everyday I pat foundation in lightly with my palms like moisturizer (after washing my hands) and my skin is very good and well-cared-for so it really doesn't need much. For special occasions I DO use a bb, but I use cheap off-brand ones and throw them away

huchi mama If you clean and dry them properly, they're just as hygienic as a brush. They're just really hard to dry, and when they're put away damp, that's when mold and bacteria grow. After washing, I leave mine out in front of the air conditioning vent for at least three days before putting it away. If I can't wash it right away, I still leave it out in a well-ventilated place until I can wash it properly.
ahhhh...a/c almost always has mold growing in it
huchi mama I don't stick it in the air conditioning vent. I just put it on a spot that gets hit by the continuous flow of air from the vents. That's usually enough to dry the BB fairly quickly. Anywhere else, and the air is too still for the sponge to dry completely before it molds.

I saw multiple reviews on this product but you did it the best showing the close ups of the skin texture, love you bunny!
grav3yardgirl, you said you used the same amount on each sponge. but the silisponge doesn't absorb it, so you'd have to use less makeup on the silisponge I think
it also doesn't absorb skin oils like the beauty blender so it's cleaner to use for people with acne

care tø give death a try? While more sanitary, it doesn't do great for covering acne or dry skin. I have acne, I'm treating it with retin-a. Acne and badly flaking skin, it makes it look worse because it doesn't conform to the face as easily.

PopSicko sorry I didn't mean to offend anyone. I watch these videos to learn more about makeup but I was referring to the primer, liquid foundation & setting powder. I didn't know there were multiple products required
luckyDancer100 All those steps aren't required-- it depends mostly on your skin type/issues. For example, I have some redness around my nose and chin, and some darkness under my eyes, so I need a little coverage, thus why I usually use concealer when I do makeup. I don't usually use a primer-- unless my pores are looking super huge, my sunscreen/moisturizer is a perfectly good base. Setting powder isn't usually necessary, as almost all foundations these days are self-setting if you give them a minute or two, so I only use them on areas where I've used concealer or where I tend to get oily (the powder will absorb any access oil to keep me from getting shiny). Some days I just dust some face powder over my moisturizer and go, and other days I go for primer, foundation, concealer, and powders (yes, plural 😅), but it all depends on how much work I want to do/what effect I'm going for/what environment my makeup must survive through (like rain or greasy, hot restaurant kitchens...). 😘👍
I usually just use concealer and setting powder, and a little moisturizer if I'm feeling dry. Rarely do I do full face with primer and foundation

I have the sillisponge and when I first used it I fell in love. It's not gonna work for everyone, that's for sure. But I love that I know I'm not wasting any product and it always gives me flawless coverage. I guess it just depends how you apply your foundation and what kind of foundation you use.

The silisponge is supposed to be an application assistance tool. You are supposed to smear your product on with the silisponge to get all of the product on your face, then use a brush or sponge to even out the texture. Great video, though!

Luscious Lady 911 if that's the ACTUAL purpose for the silisponge, then I'm even less impressed than I already was. Why tf would you need to buy a new tool solely for PUTTING the foundation onto your skin- not even applying or blending. That is the most ridiculous thing I've heard yet. Just squirt the damn foundation on your face! No product wasted!!! Problem solved!!
LusoSparz I use expensive foundation, and it lasts a lot longer with this product. I use about half. Squirting it onto your face, you still have to use either your fingers or some other thing to move it around, which wastes product. With this, I use ALL of my foundation that I put down.
