Merry Christmas Eve, y'all! Here is a weird video we made where I melt every candle from Bath & Body Works together. I figured - it's worked for a myriad of makeup products like lipsticks and eyeshadows and highlighters - so why not try melting every single candle scent from one store together to see what kind of scent we get? It's not bad makeup science - it's bad holiday science! Or maybe bad wax science. Hmm.

I could smell it EVERYWHERE in her 6,000 square foot home. SIX THOUSAND. And it basically gassed me out of the room it was lit in.

To be fair the maple blueberry candle us sk strong it should be classified a weapon....I put in an order of 15 candles for my birthday last candle day....when my mailman delivered it he straight up asked if I'd ordered apple pie from one of those fancy bakeries that ship across the country...so that blueberry scent was do strong it read through, a snuggly placed metal lid, 14 other candles and their scents, being *UNDER* the other candles in the box, and heavy duty packaging that they always do such a great job at in terms of securing the fragile (glorious gift from heaven..) products

And you could still smell that blueberry madness in a 15 foot radius of the offending box lol

Also, as another commenter pointed out, she could definitely burn one candle for longer than a day. (I dunno about _”3 months”_ like they said though.)
So, yeah, 5,886 candles would last a looong ass time. Hahaha. I’ll try my best to break it down, but I’m not very good at math, so please bear with me.
Let’s say, rather conservatively, that each candle only lasts her two weeks. (Which is pretty conservative as I’m _sure_ each candle would last a good while longer than that. But we’ll go with it ‘cuz it makes the math a touch easier! Haha.)
Anyway, at 2 weeks per candle, that’s 2,943 weeks. There are, approximately, 52 weeks in a year. Sooo, that would last her, roughly, 56 1/2 years. Saf is 27, so at 2 weeks per candle, 5,886 candles would last her until she’s 83. (Which she’ll, hopefully, live well beyond.)
Having said _all_ of that, I truly think that each candle would probably last her closer to a month. Now, if that ends up being the case then, yes, 5,886 candles would _definitely_ last her a lifetime. (Unless Saf lives to be 140 years old, which is pretty doubtful! Haha.)
If she were to _somehow_ use each candle up in a day, (By, I dunno, dumping out all of the hot wax as it burns for some weird reason.) Then they would only last her until she’s 43, or for 16 years.
*Please note that it’s very likely that I messed up on the math somewhere, somehow and I’m totally wrong. But it is what it is. Also, please don’t ask me why I felt the need to do all of this. I guess I’m just that bored right now. LOL.*

This did make me wonder if it's possible to create a candle large enough and with a long enough wick and enough different layers. I simply could not leave enough alone. Behold, the calculations behind how much those candles would have cost.
Let's start with what I got from the video: there are a few signs that can be seen advertising $15.50 as the price of one 3 wick candle. The first and most basic calculation, then, would be multiplying Saf's 117 candles by a rough mean price of $15.50, which would come out to be $1,813.50.
Now, looking at the website (be it four years later... Apologies for accuracy's sake), the online prices are slightly different. The prices range from one $14.50 candle to a few which are $19.95. The current number of candles on-site is 124, which, when I counted each candle with its price, gave me a mean price of $16.43 per candle. Multiplying this by Saf's 117 candles gives us a whopping price of $1,922.31.
Now, the mode cost of three-wick candles (meaning the grand majority of the candles are this price) on the B&BW site is actually $16.95, which means we could also use this as our baseline price should we so please. That would come out to $1,983.15, less than our true mean price and more than our basic mean price.
For kicks and giggles, between those three prices I calculated, we could give a mean price of $1,906.32.

As I'm watching this video for the 100th time, I'm thinking about how Saf often says in these videos that she's trying to find the "average" color/scent and I'm thinking about how in math, the mean is actually not used a lot to find the "average" because its often skewed by outliers. The median is often better. I don't know how it would work with candles, but with lipstick shades, I'd love to see how the "mean" lipstick (all of them melted together) compares to the "median" lipstick (color in the middle of the spectrum) to see how much the funky "outlier" colors distort the average.
