Awful....My Condolences. I was a messenger on the East Coast, have biked in lived in major cities, plus multiple long distance tours. I used to commute by bike when living in Albuquerque. In my experience, Albuqueque is hands down the most dangerous city I have rode in. Drivers aren't paying attention to anything ( including Red Lights ), let alone pedestrians. Sometimes it's worse if they do see you. .
I know him through his mom Rose he was a good son always smiling and very friendly I pray for his mom and his wife she's a sweetheart ! And it breaks my heart!
A huge loss for our community. I never met Chuck but I visted the Esperanza bike shop once and was really impressed. This is a sad reminder for everyone to be more careful and attentive when driving and riding your bike.
I've seen this happen many times, but we can't always blame drivers since so many people drive here. A huge contributing factor is traffic engineering favoring speed and space to cars without consideration to anything else, they even have the audacity to put bike lanes on highway shoulders. The culture has really got to change or else this carnage won't reduce.
He probably shouldn't have been riding his bike where he was.... cyclist are rich and entitled who care nothing about following traffic laws but will cry about their rights... as they run red lights, stops sighs, refuse to signal or dismount at crosswalks as the law says they are required to do.
I’m sure I got to see him riding but never met him poor guy I hope the killer goes to jail

Heartless.
My sincere condolences to his family for the loss of this wonderful person.
A repeat offender robbed us of our cycling advocate.
My condolences to his family. Rest In Transition 🙏

💔
Heartbreaking and it happens a lot. We need protected bike lanes in the US to make biking both safer, practical and more popular.
New Mexico drivers are THE WORST.
It isn't just the drivers but traffic engineers that blindly follow unsafe design standards.
The street full the drugs driving with out insurance and the police donot doing nothing
