SFIII: 3rd Strike - Ken [Kuroda] vs Various Game-Inn Sakura Players (Casuals)

- I uploaded this clip to show how Kuroda get's out of cross ups and punishes dash-ins. Nobody does this better then him in Japan. (imo) You can't really see him do this with Q due to him being so slow, and there's little to almost no footage of him playing Gouki.
Watch in HQ for better quality... obviously lol.
What people don't understand about high level 3rd strike and why throws land so often: So first, after a knockdown in this game, the offensive player has a huge advantage. Ken's stand strong must be parried high, and of course he has many lows into super. Both hits lead to big damage...so the basic high level strategy is to block and take the throw. The throw is the weakest option. After getting thrown a couple times, the player then gets his low short parried. That's because he is now aware of throw, so he's option selecting. However, unlike street fighter 4, an option select is punishable with a low parry or a shimmy. Kuroda gets him back with a counter option-select. So why does that player let him throw so much? Because if Kuroda does the shimmy, now throw break or c. short option select will get hit by low forward kick -> hit confirm super. Which is better? Letting him throw you, or letting him get a Ken big damage combo?
There are definitely some fake videos of Kuroda on TH-cam, but this is not one them. This footage is straight from his DVD series.
Kuroda did not simply throw the opponent multiple times in a row. If you pay attention, he's actually doing different set ups for the throws. Just because the end results are throws doesn't mean he's doing the same thing over and over again. Any good 3s player would recognize that.
@dkblade27 not really. Kuroda is on a completely different plane than Daigo on 3s.
Review at 6:53. Back throw into corner. Throw to punish block. Stand strong meaty into throw. Then throw again. Then you see a throw break attempt, and Kuroda's shimmy low forward leads to big damage. Mind you, even if he option-selected, the shimmy wins. Situation resets.
Kuroda has really good spacing. Way good!
See that position Kuroda has at 6:58? That walk back shimmy beats jab shoryuken, c. short option select. The right answer if you know he's walking back is low forward...but if he walks up and meaty stand strongs, he gets a very big combo.
I can't imagine Kuroda second guessing himself, ever. He has pretty much been in every situation (from both perspectives) possible in 3s. He's played countless matches as every character. It's probably been YEARS since he's been in a fight with someone and thought "uh oh.. now what?"
Even when he loses a round or a match, it's likely that he knew exactly what he was doing, and simply guessed wrong one too many times.
Ken is my secondary after Alex, and Q is a curiosity for me I've been trying out recently. It's great to see Kuroda's awesome videos of Ken right after checking out his great Q matches as well.
Must be a dream come true for a few casual gamers to take on a tourney God and experience his strength.
@StuartHayden You're 2 years late haha. These were very hard to get when I made that comment. (2 years+ ago)
Nice.
I'm sure Kuroda cries tears of joy reading that.
ive alwayse loved seeing kuroda fight, he is one of the most interesting players to view.
daaamn fuckin Kuroda with that red parry on that haduken blast wow!!
i loled so hard at that missed RX combo
wow, kuroda just effin does the right thing at the right time 99% of the time. My lord
You can only buy the DVD's by walking into Game-Versus arcade in Tokyo, Japan and asking to purchase them.
He has a good for the games rhythm. I'll give it to him.
daigo's ken ain't got nothing on kuroda..
divider700 true man
Gotta love those those taunts
dude is a beat no doubt about it
And even then he OCV'd entire teams at SBO as Q, mindblowing!
1:52 Alright, that's cool...
I think I've seen some of these 3rd Strike tourney DVD's available for order on Play-Asia, so perhaps you should look there.
Wow. As I've said before, Kuroda is too damn good at 3S.
Chuck Norris looks for Kuroda under his mattress.
holy moly look at the win streaks. only reason kuroda uses characters like q is because he wants a challenge.
I would say Kuroda is a monster, but that doesn't do him justice.
It's cruel to see how freely Kuroda can play when he is receiving such little pressure from these casuals. Rare as it is, Kuroda can be pressured but I don't think there is a single spot in this video where he had to second guess himself.
he said if his dvd's made it onto the internet he'd stop playing 3s...
@gokuitachi Does not agree. Kuroda would rip Daigo a new one if they played against each other. You may think Daigo is awesome because he's been beating American players with ease but in the Japan circuit, Daigo is hardly the beast.
A better sf3s Ken player would be Spellmaster J, now I would watch a match between him and Kuroda.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA THE GRABS ROFLROFL
@Roew 8 if you count the teched throw
Hmm this should be off the kuroda DVD if im not mistaken considering his name is under his health bar just like the yun dvd.
@dkblade27 Eehh, thats Kuroda's kanji symbols right under Kens info...Ku-Ro-Da.
@dkblade27 Wtf are you saying? Those kanji under the white gi Ken are Kurodas.
4:02 urien messed up that unblockable. he did 2 standing mp instead of 1. cost him the match.
No dude...its exactly opposite of disrespecting.
You're promoting him...
Some people are just too ignorant.
@ejay9000 He isnt even using his main lol. His Ken is just about equivalent to these players.
WTF at that red parry of the EX hado...
@CRAPPUCCInoo it was just a guess with more reward than risk.
i know the player who fight kuroda isnt a noob but kuroda make him see like a noob... hes amazing
@gokuitachi
Daigo vs Kuroda would be the most epic match in 3s.
wtF man seriously how well does he read people @.@
whenever i watch a kuroda vid it always seems to me that he's in control of the match...as if he's just waiting for the other player to play out exactly how he wants. i don't think i'm good enough to learn anything from these vids yet.
lol yeah man. i personally would throw the controller at him cause i would be so frustrated. its like fighting a machine
@mkkhanzohasashi Its Kuroda vs ???. We dnt know the other guy.
2 words = not human
@nanakon28 Quite honestly, if I had to pick my best players in TS American or Japanese, I'd say Nuki, Kuroda, Jiro, J, SpellMaster J, Koku, YSB and RX.
It's 9 minutes of a 3 hour DVD. How is this stopping people from buying his DVD's? Alot of people don't understand how good Kuroda is. As I said in the description, this clip is to help the 3s community, if you really feel like this is totally disrespecting Kuroda to the fullest, I'll take this down.
2:15 how does he dash through Uriens wakeup roll? and then not on the next time?
kuroda is the best no more no less
if these are the matches from his dvd.. then i believe you are showing disrespect for kuroda because im pretty sure he asked not to have his matches uploaded to the interwebs.
Daigo fanboys should take a look at this.
@ejay9000 is it safe to assume that you're better than these "NOOBS"?
@dkblade27 Daigo? Where does Daigo come into this? And in all honesty Kuroda,Jiro,Kokujin would easily dispose of Daigo. Kokujin already has before. No excluding Daigos skills but he isnt undisputed. Maybe in SF4 but not TS.
Fast forwarded to 26 wins lol
@06:25 is that Daigo?
Wait 1st match is Kuroda vs Umehara?
I have alot of that footage already uploaded, check my channel page.
@mkkhanzohasashi
yeah umehara whooped his ass.
But I don't see any Sakuras.
@Roew 7
why? cuz i respect him?
Why this bad rep youtube people gave to shodokan ? What is said above is what is being said about Kuroda and his DVDs !?
lol the urien can't count!
kuroda should be banned from all competitions.
seriously.
wasn't him
TECH THE THROWS. lmao.
abusive
@iverson25allen
daigo puts kuroda to shame.
I hate this games soundtrack so much. It's so godawful.
Except duds theme, that's tolerable.
noptic enjoy your dubstep you edgy muppet.
