His singles were the best off the album. If he had come without the features, like come on Thug and Chris Brown don’t remotely fit the album, and more sorry telling like he did in his last album it would’ve at least been a 1 or 2

This sucked. The reason he's copying everyone is because he let the success of I'm not racist get to his head, and so he's trying to appeal to the mainstream. Joyner's old mixtapes show me that he is capable of putting out a project better than this which is why I will probably continue to follow his music, but ADHD just wasn't it.
Now that I look back at it he's always been a little bit corny before this album, and after his really old mixtapes but he had so much potential. He's quite enjoyable lyrically, or atleast he was, but now he's all round corny

Joyner learned how to rap, now he just needs to learn how to make a song.
Funny thing is he has some good songs in his mixtapes but he seems to be moving away from all the qualities that made those songs good, they had message and still sounded good. Here he just tries too hard to imitate mainstream sounds without any real substance.
He just needs to know how to deliver the substance he has to offer. He’s a good lyricist. But making studio album is a whole different game than dropping mixtapes. I think IGOR is a excellent example of a great album recently. Even though it’s not exactly rap.
He needs to learn how to craft an album

The song was supposed to show the sides of a black man and a white man but it had some bars that only a few of the two parties can relate to, like the Eminem shout outs and the thing about black accents and lingo. But there are also some lines that seemed like fillers and was done for the sake of rhyming and having a scheme like "and then, maybe police will stop killing you fucks, yo what the fuck?" "He was fighting for his life right before he fucking died nigga, die nigga!" "But you worship 2pac like he was a fucking God, Oh my God!"
I don't memorize the song so that's about what I can recall. Hipe this helped, I still liked the song though, it's unique because it shows both sides of the story and challenges the listener's ear to really get the message

Devil's Work was the first Joyner Lucas song I've heard and it honestly got me a bit hyped up about the guy. I really liked the raw emotion and energy in his delivery, also his flow and voice and the beat was a banger too. Then I listened to a couple other songs and immediately lost interest.

Saw this coming a mile away. Joyner Lucas is good at writing songs and conceptual music videos....but he can’t make a proper album to save his life.
He's not even good at songwriting, or even creatively seeing outside of himself. His platitudes and observations are Hopsin levels of cringe and the concepts fall flat when you actually pay attention to them.

I’m Sorry is one of the greatest rap songs ever made, period. I know grown men who have cried to that song cause they’ve been in that same spot that Joyner talks about and describes in detail. And the flip on it where he raps from the perspective of the person who lost their family member to suicide is EXACTLY how a majority of people feel when some shit like that happens in their life.
It is expertly written and anybody that’s ever heard it can tell you the same thing. When Joyner actually puts in some effort there’s not a lot of guys who can tel a story as good as Joyner right now.
You can dislike this album and say it’s bad, I don’t like it all that much either, but don’t bullshit and act like the dude can’t write or can’t rap cause you’re lying to everybody, including yourself.
spongeaang98 I think some of his story tracks like Ross Capicchioni are fantastic, but when it came a debut album I think he felt the pressure thinking he has to be very general and play to the ear of what’s popular and his lyrics, hooks and beats suffered because of it
