I had some Bluewillow cups that my grandma had given me when I was a little girl to put in my hope chest. They have just been stored away, but after seeing your inspiration for your dry goods in glass canisters using cups as scoops, I went and bought some beautiful glass canisters and I am using my grandma’s cups in them. They look beautiful and every time I walk into my kitchen it makes me think of my grandma, so thank you for that! ❤
@anitamichael5745 a hope chest, or sometimes called a glory box in Australia, is where girls would collect and store items for their future homes when they married.
A hope chest is a chest (or a big box in my case) that you start as a young girl to save dishes, towels, kitchen items, etc for when you are grown with your own home. My mom and grandma used to buy me various things for my hope chest when I was little. I used to sit and go through them and daydream about being a wife and mom. Now I’m 60 years old and still use the silverware they bought one place setting at a time until I had the full set. They are both gone now, but I have so many great memories of us buying for my hope chest.
Macenna, I just want you to know, I watch lots of home content creators and tho you may not have the most subscribers, within3 minutes of video release you had 323 views, which I don’t even see on creators with 1 million or more subscribers. So… feel good. What you are doing is so special and incomparable to what is out there. Your peeps love you!!
I like the vlogs platforms wail doing things. Hearing and stopping to look. The other DIY will be viewed twice as people learn. The like people forget to do.
I love the tea cup look. It's so romantic! If you measure your flour by weight it won't matter if you use a measuring cup or a tea cup. It'll also be more accurate because a cup by volume can sometimes have a a little more or little less flour packed in. It usually doesn't matter for home cooks.
I'm so happy you are enjoying your new kitchen!! Cade is precious. I always live seeing your mom. She is a joy!!! The apple didn't fall far from the tree!!!
So happy to see your mom and that your brother and sister in law got to visit. I have to admit that at 6:56 I paused the video and zoomed in to see sweet precious baby Cade. What a beautiful boy. 💙🥰
It always amazes me how cool everyone else's vintage markets are better than the markets near my home. I would love to go to one like you guys have! Wow just wow! Treasures everywhere and great prices. I too have an addiction for platters. I love turkey platters. Especially the platters that are hand painted then glazed over from the 50's and 60's. I have several white ironstone type turkey platters as well. I also collect the plastic/melamine 1960's and 1970's seasonal platters. I screech when I find them in the wild. Your baby is so cute! Nancy from OHIO
Yes I love your decorating ideas...that's a given. What got me was little one...im a great grandma..76..and I have always know how gorgeous mine are.6grandchildren..4 great grandchildren..a set on twins from that. I MUST ADMIT...I WANTED TO JUST HOLD YOUR SON...CUDDLE...LISTEN TO BABY SOUNDS...THEIR LITTLE SQUIRMING..AND MOVING...YOU ARE THE BEST MOM AND ROMEO THE BEST DAD...HE IS JUST BIG CUDDLES OF PERFECTION..😊 ENJOY YOUR ADVENTURES WITH HIM AND GODS BLESSINGS...
I absolutely love Mixed Metals. I really love Rod Iron. It’s always timeless & beautiful. I think you can’t go wrong with Rod Iron outdoor furniture, it’s beautiful all chipped up, or with a new paint refurbished. My great grandmother all the way down to my daughter ( 5 generations ). Have collected ( English Blue “flow blue English Pottery” ). I have more pieces than I know what to do with. They are not all perfect, or match perfectly, but I still love each and every piece . Even though it’s not a large 300 piece set, it’s my favorite & each piece has been added through the years and puts a smile on my face. 😄 I m always makes me so happy when your adorable Mamma comes to visit ❤. She is soo sweet. Love, Love, Love all the flea market videos!! ❤ 😉 🌺 💕
I totally enjoyed these videos with your Mom in them. Super cute cups. Definitely use the cups you got because it has the handle and it's easy to scoop up the dry ingredients.
Those cups are pretty, I would definitely swap them out. The measuring cups fit in with the idea of the style from afar or in passing but one can tell they’re more of a modern version, so I would totally swap them with the pretty English cups!
I just enjoy your videos so much. The baby is growing way too fast! Im 75 so I love babies, lol. You are handling motherhood and everything so well. Love, love the kitchen. At your age I was also the energizer bunny so I relate alot to you. You’re a lovely person ❤
Great purchases today, you can never have enough platters... and I should know! They are wonderful for mixing designs, same with the smaller plates and you were so lucky to get vintage china without chips and crazing. I find that salad plates about 8 or 9 inches are a great size for many things. Years ago there was a flea market a short walk from me, only small and mostly fresh produce, but I still managed some good finds. Every time you film in the kitchen I focus on the chandelier... it's fabulous... I can't believe how fast Cade is growing, he's a beautiful boy! ❤🦘
OMG Cade is beautiful and big, he is adorable and is so nice you have your mom, brother and sister visit you and be together, good memories for Cade, very nice video I enjoy
Cade is so cute. So glad to see your mom and you spend time with family. Can't wait to se what your patio will look like. But i get so many beautiful ideas from you that i do my best to decorate my home. Thanks a million
I've seen ceramists talk about public concerns with lead in thrifted dishware, and they stated that it is impossible for swab lead testing kits to accurately test for lead on these types of items. You'll get false negatives and false positives since they aren't meant to test glazed surfaces but rather painted. They recommended researching your item using Google lens to see if it's a piece with information online or to see if you can at least date the item to know whether lead was still commonly used at that time.
Lead can be in the glaze or painted decoration of ceramic dishware. Glaze makes dishware smooth and shiny, and makes some colors brighter. You cannot see lead in the glaze or paint. Even if the dishware isn't decorated, the glaze may have lead. I found this on Google I would be very careful putting those cups in your flour, sugar etc. until tested.
I’ve always just used crockery that only has a pattern on the edge, like a border. Then the food is only in the middle with no colour. Not exactly scientific proof, but it makes sense to me 🤷🏻♀️💋
@@xomacennavlogs you're welcome! I'm not an expert on this issue either, but I previously went through the same fears after seeing some IG reels. The concern is real, and unfortunately if a piece is of unknown origin the only way to get answers seem to be to to send it to a lab for testing.
Hi MaCenna, Cade and Romeo. I always get excited when your video is available! I love your home - it is inviting and cozy. Cade is adorable and your Mom is fun and she is cute! Waiting for your next video. Enjoy.
Celebrating baby with family is the best. Cade is adorable. Your hair is gorgeous and your dress so pretty. Wonderful to see your amazingly talented Mom again 😍
Long ago before you had Cade, I've mentioned that your baby will have Romero's eyes and have your hair color and boy he does. Cade is looking so much like daddy and he'll be a year old in no time. Great to see Mama and Cade hanging out and so cute when she says I'm honey from last vlog.
It was a fun episode! Was so great to see your mom. I am missing my baby days as they’re in their 40s now and the grandkids are either out of high school or in junior high so it’s so sweet to see the three generation your mom, you, & Cade. Great that you appreciate your baby so much❤
Your kitchen is completely awesome. I have been busy and unable to see your videos but WOW! You are an extremely creative and successful designer for sure! Love the content and baby too.
Baby Cade is adorable enjoy him. Glad you had lots of fun and family. Can’t wait to see whats next; looking forward to new projects and decorating for the seasons.
Dear Macenna, regarding ceramics with oxides, they can be used for food, but only the cold ones. Warm meals shoud not be placed in them. Love your content, your positivity and creative mind. Big hug from Belgrade, Serbia.
i have never thought to test my dishes for led. And now, after reading that it can also be in tableware, ceramics etc i have ordered huge test kit. So thank you MaCenna!
McKenna I just love you so much ! You brighten my day so much !! Can’t wait to see your vlog. The kitchen is just beautiful honey ! That precious baby boy is adorable. Love your channel !❤❤❤
Girl…your hair is soooooo gorgeous! I hope Caden gets some of that curl….thank you so much for sharing that beautiful pic of you and him…he is sooooo adorable…and I think you looks like both of you! Enjoyed the video as always! See you on Thursday! ❤️😊
Wow, Cade is a beautiful little baby. I haven't really seen a photo of him since birth. I am glad you got those gray and white platters I love them. Particularly the first one you just showed Wedgewood
MaCenna & Romeo your baby is so chunky and handsome. I simply love babies their little sound’s they make and squishy chubby cheeks. Mercy Cade is Adorable.
Thank you MaCenna for this beautiful video. It's always nice to see little Cade and his cute face. He is so handsome. Great to see your Mum, I loved your Texas times together. Will you go all three of you to Texas sometimes soon? Love your new kitchen. Congratulations.
You should use the tea cups to scoop into the actual measuring cups. When you’re baking and something calls for a cup you aren’t suppose to have it too compact.
First, I loved seeing Mom! I've missed her. I actually thought I would have seen more of her. I love those cups and would definitely go with them over the measuring cups, however you know that they aren't exact so you have reason to use the measuring ones.
Ich schau Dir sehr gerne aus der Ferne zu und ich liebe englisches Geschirr....und ich freue mich auf neue Projekte...und dabei kann ich wieder einiges lernen 😊
Those platters are so pretty 😭 I love platters too and bowls..idk why haha and love anything ironstone. Also I think Pretty blue plates would be so cute hung up somewhere in your kitchen. If anything you buy ends up having lead you could hang those up so you can still enjoy them.
This is the first picture I have seen of the baby! He’s beautiful! I ve just seen feet and side views! Great job on the Halloween decor and fall decor! ❤️🇨🇦
Cade is growing so fast, what a handsome little man he is. Just a FYI your coffee cups from the estate sale are a pattern called Liberty Blue. There are a lot of pieces to this pattern!

Do you mind if I ask what a hope chest is plz? 😊

I’m collecting items to do the same in my new kitchen as well ! ❤ wall color …. Sculptor clay ! 😊
The baby looks so much like his daddy. I can’t believe how fast he’s growing. We are expecting a great grand baby in the Spring. We are so excited.
🎉 God bless
I love seeing your mom, wish she would film her renovations too, and her painting process....baby Cade is just too precious!

Love seeing Cade and Mom too. Love hearing Cade in the background. Looks like he's getting big! That first year goes fast!😊
Love that we got to see more of Cade in this vlog. He’s so cute! Thank you for sharing. 😊

I love the dress you wore to lunch out with your brother. If reminds me of what we wore in the 60s.
I'm so happy you are enjoying your new kitchen!!

When Flea market is in the title of a MaCenna video, I stop everything to watch! ESPECIALLY when Kathy is still in town. ❤

You should use the tea cups to scoop into the actual measuring cups. When you’re baking and something calls for a cup you aren’t suppose to have it too compact.

I LOVE those platters!
Cade is growing so fast, what a handsome little man he is. Just a FYI your coffee cups from the estate sale are a pattern called Liberty Blue. There are a lot of pieces to this pattern!
