We were on the same boat in February and loved everything about it, from the quiet engines as they are gas driven to the style they deal with pets, and of course all the beautiful details that have gone into the design of this boat. Brittany Ferries are doing it right and you really showed exactly what‘s it like to be on this crossing!
Thanks! 😊 Oh yes we forgot to mention how quiet it is! Much quieter than the old Connemara 😅 these new boats are so nice! 😍 we will be back in that crossing next year 🙌
Great video. Brittany Ferries owe you on your return trip next year to Spain. We were on that boat last December and you pointed out things we didn't even see! Welcome home. Ane knew she was heading back to Ireland her Irish accent was creeping back in 😁
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it 🤗 We will be back on that crossing next year🙌 hahaha my accent comes and goes, and it also depends on how tired I am 😂😂 the more tired, the more Spanish I am 🙃
Yes, very impressed with the boat, that was a great bit of publicity for them, I think a free upgrade should be made available to you next time. Take care, looking forward to your next adventure xx 🐸
Brilliant video Shane & Ane, very educational for subscribers. We’re just in the middle of upgrading our van and are hoping to visit Ireland next year sometime to visit an old friend or two. Don’t leave us waiting to long guys. Enjoy your time at home though xx
Thanks! Glad you found it useful 😊 We are going to be upgrading our van as well and travelling a little bit around Ireland! We are going to keep uploading a video every Sunday! 🤗 Enjoy your trip to Ireland! xx
Thanks for that very informative video, it looked like a great crossing despite the long sailing time. Welcome home, im looking forward to your future adventures with Fergus. I am so impressed that you did so much traveling in your classic T3, I don't think I would have the courage to bring my 1977 T2 over to Europe; so well done on completing such an epic journey.
Glad you enjoyed it! 😊 we are looking forward to exploring Ireland with Fergud 🙌 it has been an amazing trip. We have done over 20.000 km! But thank god Shane is so handy, and he could fix Fergus on the spot. Otherwise, the trip would have been a lot shorter 😂😂 We will be back out in Europe next year 🤗
Insightful stuff , i laughed when u said Fergus might need a push on ferry as a few yrs ago my starter had gone so french customs had to literally push start my camper onto ferry. Serves them right for pulling me up.😏😆Welcome back u2 to the wet irish sod👍
You do such a great job 😊love tour around the boat luv your travels in fergus and how you have the skills to keep him alive, look forward to your next video adventures 😊

hello there, followed you two some weeks now, it was great to see you along al the different roads and places... it was very nice tho look at the video's, thanks
Wonderful video about Salamanca. Hopefully head to Spain 🇪🇸 December 5th with wee van and Jack Russell 😮. Cabin are expensive but you need a good night's sleep 😴. I have 11 hours drive to Torrevieja when in Spain. When are you heading out on your Travels again. Did you have Breakdown cover with Fergus??
@@PhilHiggins-jn9bl Hi Phillip!! Hopefully you get a smooth crossing!! An 11hr drive is some drive.. it would take Fergus 22 hours haha. We will be travelling Ireland but will be back in Europe early next year. The only breakdown cover we had was a toolbox from Halfords and that got us out of almost all occasions 🤣🤣
This was brilliant. Thank you. Looking to do this ferry next year with my 10 year old so now I know what to expect. One question though, do you know if there a soft play area for kids on the ferry ?
Thanks! Glad that you found it useful 🤗 There is a really good area for kids called "explorers kids club" on deck 8. Here is a picture images.app.goo.gl/PpUt6MXrmCx7ha6T8 Have a lovely sailing! xx
As a Ford Camper owner I am sure if I would not be brave enough to driving in your aged van!! I normally drive through the Euro Tunnel and drive through France and Spain. however this time we are taking the Ferry and I am really unsure if it was the best thing to do....
Hey thank you!! So there is 2 different sailing times, one leaves in the morning time (I think on Sundays) and it is 28hrs. On the other day it leaves Ireland around 4pm I think and takes 32 hours but I think it takes longer because they have to wait for port to open.
there are 2 crossings from rosslare to spain per week .(and 2 returns )..the friday night sailing from rosslare leaves at 11.30 ish pm and arrives in spain sunday morning at 7 am its a 2 night crossing {32 hours }....the wednesday sailing from rosslare leaves at 9 am and arrives in spain at 2pm thursday (27 hours) and 1 night onboard ferry ...i prefere the friday night sailing as when you arrive sunday morning the roads in bilbao are empty ....thursday afternoon in bilbao roads have lots of traffic ...
From March onwards the sailing gets calmer. When it's rough it can be rocky but eternally it's 100% we sailed in October when it was suppose to be rough. The bay of biscay is the roughest and it doesn't last that long.

The ship was lovely! What upgrades do you plan on doing to the van? or will saying spoil a future video :)
The ship is amazing!! Few new parts to go in, diesel tank, new battery, new seals no door rams etc :))
Great post I’ve been on this crossing a few times.
Thanks, glad you liked it! 😊 were your crossings smooth?
Yes but no dolphins Maybe next year.@@ShaneandAneVanLife

Great video, when you say it's 28 but the other one is 32, what do you mean? A different sailing time or a different ship

Would love to sail to Spain . Just wondering if its hard to drive in there?
Super easy to drive :)
Im going in March, bit nervous for the sailing, when its rough, how rough? And how long was it rough for!

Always a lovely video from you guys ❤❤
Thank you! The Brittany ferries offer a great service!! Great for connecting Ireland to Spain and UK to Spain
@@ShaneandAneVanLife still need to visit Ireland in Betty 🚐❤️
@@bettyourcampervan You should definitely. The WAW is an amazing drive!!
@@ShaneandAneVanLife i really fancy that 👍
I guys what time before a ferry do you have to be there thanks.
We arrived 2 hours before the sailing:)
Then how do u get from roslare to the west coast .ie mayo.. do u have to walk or thumb.
If your a foot passenger yes or take a bus but you just drive if your in your camper
Good video, the ships have improved a lot since we last used it.
Hi guys 👋 Thanks 😊 We loved the new ship. It is such a big improvement from the old Connemara!
you are on a ship not a boat as you keep saying .
Apologies:)
