Very nice vlog, good to watch and I found it very relaxing. Sorry, but my only bit of criticism here is why the obsession with everything has to be new, new, new and anything that you consider is outdated has to be pointed out to the viewer. Let us decide for ourselves what is new and old.
We’ve had the Commodore cabin a couple of times going to France during the summer. To answer your question the Commodore lounge has the same offering year round. In our experience it seems to be rarely used. Nice video by the way!
Thanks Stuart for taking the time to share your experience. I enjoyed the lounge but interesting that the limited offering is year around. Perhaps it would become a more appealing space with a few little touches like pastries or scones or even offering a range of biscuits at certain times of the sailing for example. Really glad you enjoyed the video.
@aidanmccarthy7406 Thanks very much Aidan. Decided we didn't need the car this time as we just enjoyed a quiet few days exploring and filming around Roscoff and Ile de Batz which was beautiful.
Excellent review best Ive ever seen of a ferry crossing. We travel on the Rosslare Bilbao route and in the Commodore Lounge there is food and drink available all day 7am to 11pm. Great review thanks
That's a great comment to receive Joseph. I appreciate it. Really glad you enjoyed. Wow, it seems the commodore lounge on that route has a way better offering! It will give me a good excuse to try it out sometime 😉
@24:06 you can totally tell they went above and beyond to protect the food from people's coughing and sneezing unlike those other cheap places where everything is exposed. Well done Brittany Ferries, Class A service.
To be honest I think for first class travel it’s pretty average, compared to ferry travel up until say 20 years ago things have improved greatly when we were treated pretty much like cattle just squeeze as many in as possible a lot more civilised now, I’ve used ferry travel mainly between Ireland and Britain but I’ve used the harwich,Dover and Folkestone route many times but crossing the Irish Sea is for some reason considerably more expensive than crossing the English Channel, nice to see this crossing though, good post
Design is a little time travel to the 00’s, but it feels more warm and cosy than more modern interiors from other ferries. Only those small annoying details (dust in cabin, that peeled off thing in shop, and those wood balcony furniture and rail should be renewed/repainted) :( Is there a cabin like this but with double bed instead of two solos?
Great summary, totally agree. As far as I know, they only have the two single beds in these Commodore Suites. A double would be way more practical for that room type though IMO.
That's a pity, you would think it be very popular in the summer months. I wonder if that's common all year round nowadays so 🤔 thanks for watching and sharing that info.
I believe the Pont Aven has them. Not sure if working as expected during this trip or they could have been working very well and stopped the rolling from being worse 🙂.
Brilliant video!! Is any food and drink or lounge access provided when you are booking the top tier Cabin? It's nice to actually see a foot passenger boarding link rather than just being taken onto the ferry by bus or coach
Thanks for watching and for taking the time to reach out Peter. Delighted you enjoyed it. I go through the included food/drink and lounge access at these timestamps 05:30 and 08:49 if interested 👍. Overall, the lounge is quite basic in terms of offering, hot drinks and fruit basically :) still good fun to try it out though 😁
Think you need to research the worlds largest natural ports. As far as Im aware I think Poole is second to Sydney, not Cork, and apparently, Cork does not even take 3rd. Maybe im wrong. Enjoyed the vid tho.. Cheers
Glad you liked the video. Yeah my research comes from official sources such as the ports own websites but I cans see why you question it because a quick Google search leads to a lot of conflicting information.
@@PaulButler-z5l No, it’s Cork Harbour. Cobh is a town on Great Island in Cork Harbour. There is no location named “Cobh Harbour”. Signed, a Corkwoman.
Yeah, it was due to the very early arrival into Roscoff. The only time available if you wanted breakfast to the room. Probably my earliest brekkie ever 😀
@gerardacronin334 you have a point but it is still better that the pool has water, even they don't allow the passengers to swim. It looks like abandoned ship if no water.
Commodore= first, Club = business 2 or 4 berth = premium economy and reserved seat = economy is how I sort it. My snobbish self very much prefers Commodore, but I can get by with Club. 😅 Cheers! Great video 😊
Hey David, Thanks for the comment, and good question! 😁 I mix it up overall. There are vids on the channel where I talk as well. If I think a video will come across better only using natural sounds, I will go for the subtitles. I also find a lot of people talk into the camera too much rather than actually showing what they are filming, so I try to keep that side to a minimum myself too! Just my own preference preference 👍
Lol, cows to milk!!😆 I could have done given how early it was! I was taken aback myself when they told me the time they were serving breakfast to the room! I could have skipped it, but I felt it was better to show what was on offer for that room type. Thanks for watching and for the comment, got a good laugh from it👍
Is it?! Not too surprised, though, because that room was definitely not cheap, that's for sure! A cruise is something I want to try in the future as well. 🛳👍
This has to be the best ferry vlog I've ever seen. Really superb. If I can win the lottery, I will choose that cabin in the future. Thanks Gotta.
Really glad you enjoyed Anthony, thanks for taking the time to watch more of the vids 🙏

I really enjoyed watching this video. Just wondering how come you did not take your car on board the pont aven with you

Very good video . Ferry looks beautiful
Thanks Terry, appreciate it. Yes, a fantastic ship indeed.
The Pont Aven is an excellent ferry we have traveled to Spain on it for many years.Brittany ferries are very professional.
Thanks for reaching out Kevin, completely agree with you. I always enjoy my experience on Brittany Ferries.
Lovely. I would love to go on this trip. Greetings from Canada.
Thanks for watching and reaching out Cheryl. Can't wait to get over to your amazing country at some stage as well 🇮🇪🇨🇦

Lol!! Absolutely 😉
Looks really lovely ship and decor very nicely done
Appreciate you watching Michael and taking the time to reach out.
I went on a Brittany ferries once in the late 80's but from St Malo, I forgot to where it was or Portsmouth or Plymouth, I can't remember
Fallmouth??

We were on this ship in July and the pool wasnt open, completely drained like your video.

No stabilisers?
I believe the Pont Aven has them. Not sure if working as expected during this trip or they could have been working very well and stopped the rolling from being worse 🙂.
Thank you for amazing video
Really glad you enjoyed watching. Thanks for the kind comment and feedback because I love when viewers feel they are on the journey themselves 🙏
Yes it is an amazing video. The best I've ever seen of a ferry crossing.

@@gottawander thank you so much for the information and swift reply. Take care
The prices are so expensive compared to a cruise ship.
Yeah, looks like some cruise packages can be great value for money. I will have to try one at some point.
Great vid, lovely ship.
Thanks for that Andy, appreciate it
Nice video
Ah, that's great to hear. I'm glad you found it enjoyable and I really appreciate you taking the time to comment too. 🤝

It's Cobh harbour not cork.where the titanic last stop.

Was there a reason for the very early breakfast

Great video. 27.20. I wouldnt walk too far from a toilet if i were you 😂
Cheers mate. And yes..Lol! Very true 😆😆
Slept right through guardians of the galaxy 2 last year. Front row Infront of the speakers. I was shattered.😂😂
Oh no!! 😆 that's unlucky!
Why they dont open the pool? It's indoor
Very true, I sure would have made use of it during that crossing.
Have you ever tried to swim in a cruise ship pool during rough weather? The sloshing can toss you against the walls of the pool.
@@gerardacronin334 That would be an experience 😉

Makes you wonder what happens to all the unused food that's not bought?
no 1st class cabins on britany ferries only comodore and club class and regular cabins snob
Maybe I should be sorry here...but I'm not because I'm a snob. 😘

Its more expensive per night than a cruise.

boring
Just how I like it 😚
