    So about the preservative:
Usually, when you put water or water-based ingredient (such as Aloe Vera) into an oil mixture, you MUST use a preservative to prevent mold and bacteria to grow and to prevent your product from going rancid. But honestly, I’m not sure if this DIY recipe would require a preservative. So in this case, I didn’t for several reasons:
    - I use it in my own household and I run out fast.
    - It’s been 3 weeks since I made this batch and it’s still holding up amazing.
    - I’m not planning to sell this product.
    - I keep an eye on it daily.
If you want to be sure that your DIY aloe vera oil will hold up you can:
    - Add some vitamin E drops for extra protection against the product going rancid
    - Store it in the fridge
    - Store in a dark, cool place
However, if you create your own oil without water-based ingredients, you don’t need a preservative. Oil alone holds up great for up to 2 years. Hope this helps! ❤️

I would recommend to put oils like this in a dark glass container because light, especially sunlight, can make them deteriorate

If u use aloe vera powder instead of fresh aloe, you won't have to worry about the water and oil issue. Henna Sooq makes high quality finely sifted ayurvedic powders. SheRea DelSol has a video for her aloe vera oil recipe using the powder.

Does it have the same amount of slip because nothing beats the slip you get from using the fresh leave when making the oil that is from my experience..i have made several batches without preservative and it holds up for months

aloe vera was my life saver when i was a new natural. i big chopped so i was definitely wanted something to promoted stronger and healthier hair and aloe vera juice was my best friend! only have to drink a cup a day to start seeing results in as little as 2 weeks for me (you can drink more but no more than two cups a day). i recommend some sort of aloe vera to anyone, it is a game changer!

Aloe vera gel has really helped soften and grow my hair and I found an easy way to get the juice off without a blender or the mixing or the lamps, and I made a short how to video on my channel. I can be inconsistent, so making my hair routine easy is really important to me. This was really helpful too.

I've never being this early. Please can you try my diy hair mask ? I would be very happy if you could try it and show your result. The recipe is simple, ( banana, aloe vera, my favorite oil (extra virgin olive oil) and honey. I then mix it very well and strain it using a wig cap is very important. I apply it to my hair and my scalp and allow it for atlist 1h and then rinse it and do the rest of my routine. This recipe is great because banana makes the body synthesis COLLAGEN which is great for hair growth and this mask make my hair super soft but at the same time strengthened and reduced my hair breakage and in the long run it made my hair grow faster by using it consistently

    • @Olive_O_Sudden

  • @lilrubyred81

I thought you said you were gonna use all of the aloe... what did you do with it after you drained it? Couldn't you have slices off the skin and added it to a blender and make a conditioner with it? I'm just curious, I made a shampoo with aloe in it. The oils will be completely infused in the aloe after you drain it so you should still be able to use it right?

Unrefined almond oil is heat sensitive. Unless u are using refined. Some propertiesv found in aloe is also heat sensitive pass 15 min of heating. Unless u are selling product that need a long shelf life , i feel itis Better to use it raw directily on the scalp n dont rinse. I feel it is wasting such good ingrédients

I’m no scientist but, I think for these natural ingredients to maintain the nutrients, it would be better to use the double boiler method. You do not want to denature the oil and aloe with high heat, particularly if you have a cold-pressed oil. Just a suggestion.
