Hey brother, I heard you talking about replacing the shoulder pads with some nicer ones...I love the idea of having a space marine army with units in the process of melting down into chaos/nurgle marines (Horus heresy the first heretic style). I bought some nice bits from Kromlech, but I’ve no idea how best to remove the shoulder pads so I can fix the new ones on. I spoke to Miscast, he said that a rotary tool is best to grind the old parts away. I can’t find any footage of this process though. It would be very confidence inspiring to see an accomplished modeller perform this process, do you know of any such resources? Thanks for sharing, you’re so kind.
Your magnet conversion is very tempting, but how to make back-pack pretty when you use flamer? Without the grenade launcher on top isn't magnet easily visible?
Just paint over the magnet, it still works perfectly. It can chip more easily of course, varnish can help or you can just patch it up when needed. It's less of a big deal than you would think though, because usually you'll favour either one setup or the other, you don't swap them constantly. It's still super worthwhile to magnetize especially on models like this where it's really easy to do.
Hey brother out of curiosity which size shoulder pads from Pop Goes the Monkey fit the Aggressor box set units? I have a bunch of Thousand Sons Shoulders for Scarab Occult/Cataphractii Termies and Rubric Marine units from PGTM but don't recall reading anything on the site about which size shoulders fit Primaris Aggressors. I'm working on kit bashing and converting some Aggressors to Thousand Sons just for fun. Thx
Magnetizing under he shoulder socket IS usually quite easy. But think of all those that magnetized their non primaris space marines. Seems like a waste of time now to future prove those ones
