Doesn't matter if you get all the ship parts or not. The end result is the same: Olimar's ship crashes back down onto the planet and the pikmin save him by turning him into a leafling. I've seen alot of speculations across videos on whether this game is a sequel or a reboot, and I've seen a developer quoted saying "it could be either so we left it up to the player to decide." I'm convinced it's just a normal sequel with probably the most references to previous games even if they're done in a way that could imply a different place in the series/timeline/reboot. Ironically even with Pikmin 2's intro quite literally telling you what happened in the first game, and then the Ship's references to Olimar's notes/logs on the pikmin this game takes the cake on the referential material. I totally also am not thinking this way partially because I like the idea of Olimar actually finally getting his ship back, and was totally not salty for almost 20 years that the president just went "lmao I sold your custom built ship" which is like "you need to bring your own car for company work, also I own it now and just sold it."
Wait, so does this confirm this game is a reboot/set in an alternate timeline? I’ve seen so many arguments made about it and it makes my head hurt trying to figure it all out…
It doesn't This works as a short version of olimar crash in pikmin 4 Nothing about reboot The narrative of this and the first parts of the game works as tutorial for new players to get the story without being far fetch for them
@@Alexgodofwar5662There’s a LOT of Olimar’s entry that heavily implies that it his first time crashing the ship in the planet, otherwise he would be like “Oh no I crashed again in this planet how does this keep happening to me” There’s none of that, there’s even entries where he dreams about the events of Pikmin 2 and shivers because of how horrible that *future* could be. Also, the food crisis in Koppai is also mentioned as something that’s recently happening instead of being solved by the crew in 3. Pikmin 4 is by all means a soft reboot
@@bonelesschickennuggets1868 >there is even entries where he dreams about the events of pikmin 2 The log makes it pretty clear that Olimar is referring to the idea that Louie ate the golden pikpik carrots being preposterous, because he has no idea that it actually happened. It's pretty clear he means "willingly", because every time he takes on company debt, he does it because he was commanded to, and not because he wants to. Plus, *he's recounting a dream*, of course the details are going to be vague. >The food crisis on koppai Koppai is going/will be going in the future through *another* food shortage. The intro to 3 talks about how terrible they are at planning, and the ending even states that they’ll need to carefully plan to bring the food supply back up. Besides, why would they send so many sparrows out if three supposedly high-ranking officials had already been to the planet on a treasure hunt? There’s no reason to suspect they didn’t tell anyone about the boundless supply of fruit on the planet. @@bonelesschickennuggets1868 As for why Olimar treats this like it’s his first time on the planet? The game is simply being beginner friendly. Besides, we have proof that at the least it’s not his first visit to the planet. One of his logs talks about about how hostile the planet used to look but now looks serene. How are you throwing pikmin so fast?
You can throw as fast as you can push the button, so if you can mash it, you can throw really fast. That's it.
@@rudeboyspodcast Nah dude's emulating the game on PC and using a controller with a turbo button which sends the signal to a button you specify very quickly. There's no way a human could throw that fast.

Thanks for spoiling this for me with your title and thumbnail
Oh grow up the thumbnail doesnt show anything the demo didnt already have
lol get noscoped
@@liamthecrusader5056 Wrong. In conjunction with the title it makes it obvious this is postgame content.
@@flower5185 dude in the trailer we were told that olimar was shipwrecked
@@liamthecrusader5056 dude, that's not what the spoiler is. Are you just slow?
He could have done so much more that first day
i wonder can you complete olimar’s shipwreck tale without moss?
I've seen alot of speculations across videos on whether this game is a sequel or a reboot, and I've seen a developer quoted saying "it could be either so we left it up to the player to decide."
I'm convinced it's just a normal sequel with probably the most references to previous games even if they're done in a way that could imply a different place in the series/timeline/reboot.
It’s funny how old are is in every Pikmin game but alph Charlie and brittaney are not and Louie
Why are there 2 yellow onions ?
The title is kinda a lie cus olimar literally died and was brought back to life by the pikmin
1:38:38
So you're telling me you did all that for just turnig into a leaflin and you did that for nothing
Wait, so does this confirm this game is a reboot/set in an alternate timeline?
I’ve seen so many arguments made about it and it makes my head hurt trying to figure it all out…
It doesn't
This works as a short version of olimar crash in pikmin 4
Nothing about reboot
The narrative of this and the first parts of the game works as tutorial for new players to get the story without being far fetch for them
Dude how fast are your fingers
Char: its based on an atrivate universe.
1:40:43 THE THEME AAAAAAAAAA
Where’s the full game?
This is a sidequest.
Pikmin 4 is a reboot.
There is 0 evidence of that
@@Alexgodofwar5662There’s a LOT of Olimar’s entry that heavily implies that it his first time crashing the ship in the planet, otherwise he would be like
“Oh no I crashed again in this planet how does this keep happening to me”
There’s none of that, there’s even entries where he dreams about the events of Pikmin 2 and shivers because of how horrible that *future* could be.
Also, the food crisis in Koppai is also mentioned as something that’s recently happening instead of being solved by the crew in 3.
Pikmin 4 is by all means a soft reboot
@@bonelesschickennuggets1868 >there is even entries where he dreams about the events of pikmin 2
The log makes it pretty clear that Olimar is referring to the idea that Louie ate the golden pikpik carrots being preposterous, because he has no idea that it actually happened. Not the concept of debt. When he says "this is why I never take on debt", he doesn't say "I've never taken on debt ever". It's pretty clear he means "willingly", because every time he takes on company debt, he does it because he was commanded to, and not because he wants to. Plus, *he's recounting a dream*, of course the details are going to be vague.
>The food crisis on koppai
Koppai is going/will be going in the future through *another* food shortage.
Again there is 0 evidence
Anything you find can get hard countered by previous entries and common sense and common knowledge
Perhaps whatever is causing him to crash is altering the very planet as he gets more comfortable on each visit in attempt to keep him from wanting to leave.
@@Alexgodofwar5662 The title of that entry is literally titled as “nightmare” and word for word Olimar says that he had a dream about that.
The ending of 3 is pretty clear about the crisis in Koppai being solved after the ending
