- We are finally going to connect to the Atlantic Ocean starting in Ripley WV headed east to Nags Head Island NC. In Winter? We love Appalachia in the winter because you can see further without leaves. Otherwise its a tree canopy tunnel most of the way. How was it in winter? Watch and find out.

Description form the website:
West Virginia starts in Ripley, WV and ends in Marlington, WV. It travels through the back country with county roads both paved and non-paved. Ends in the Appalachia Mountains into VA and NC. The TAT goes through the Monongahela National Forest and follows the Williams River for 40 miles or so and is very nice.
Atlantic Ocean Spur
This is a connector from the outer banks of the Atlantic Ocean (Nags Head) to Burnsville, VA (469 miles). The first half is pavement, which is the price you pay for being in a densely populated area close to the ocean. The second half is worth the ride, just hang in there. The back roads and countryside are beautiful. You will travel through North Carolina and Virginia to arrive in Burnsville, which is the connection with the TransAmerica Trail.

the documentation of the trail and i like how you’re separating by state! Awesome formats Nice... definitely on my bucket list. Sometimes I slow a Video Down or Speed it up ,depends on the scenic View . Liked the comic relief, lol. We all need more time to explore nature with Friends !

Man was I wrong! Motor bikes and side by side is what I know and thought why do the tat in a vehicle. Your rig and set up is great! Have sub’d and look forward to what I see on your channel. Getting older has made me rethink a lot it seems 👍🏻🏍

I just recently learned about this trail, and i am now in my head trying to decide if i want to take it on in one go or do half and half.
Either way i have a lot of prep and planning to do!

I've been watching a lot of these TAT videos from the motorcyclists perspective lately. It seems like there is an awful lot if singletrack or otherwise very tight, technical rocky road sections in some states. I can't believe you can get through their with an overland trailer.
I am wondering if you have to do a lot of detours on some sections because they are just known in advance to be too technical or narrow for a pull behind trailer?
Nope not one forced diversions yet. They are all passable.
My buddy and I are doing this trail in 2 weeks (January 28th-31st) but are having a hard time finding information about trail closures( driving up from Florida) do you know anywhere we can check before hitting to road to make sure the trails are still open? Taking a 14 F250 and jeep wrangler.
We didn’t have any trail closures. But just a bunch of camp spot closures. We just went for it hoping they were open and they were. I have no idea who you could ask
My husband would love to do this section of the TAT, is there anyway you would share your map or let us know what source you used for directions?? Thanks

How do you like gladiator vs the wrangler?
Not a good comparison. Truck vs suv. It’s miles beyond the wrangler but worn no short wheelbase maneuverability
