  • In today's X4 Foundations gameplay, war has begun. Our reputation finally crossed the threshold to trigger war with Vigor Syndicate. I have hundreds of hours in this game going back to its original release and I am looking forward to a fresh playthrough and finding out what the DLCs have to offer. My play style is focused mostly around economy. I love building fleets of miners and traders. Later on in the playthrough I build stations and wharfs as we attempt to become a dominant faction in the X Universe. The combat is not my favorite activity to engage personally but I greatly enjoy watching large space battles so expect a few of those as our playthrough matures.

    ABOUT THIS CONTENT
X4: Tides of Avarice, the third expansion for X4: Foundations, invites you on new exploration adventures.
Meet new factions and experience their stories
Encountering and interacting with previously unknown, lawless pirate and scavenger factions, will challenge your perception of social order and justice in the X universe. In new sectors and dangerous regions, you will not only discover new ships and stations, but also encounter stellar phenomena that will significantly influence your plans and actions. What is it all about, and who are the mysterious manipulators that have learned to master a rare and vital resource? Your journey will lead you towards the answers. Set out and discover a new chapter of X4: Foundations.
Let new ships terrify and enchant you at the same time
Roam through the Windfall and Avarice systems, and discover numerous new ships from the pirate and scavenger factions of X4: Tides of Avarice. Among other new ships, you can look forward to the following highlights:
The Erlking, a terrifying pirate battleship with an experimental and unusual energy source, has been developed over many years by the Riptide Rakers, at great cost to their resources and lives, in a desperate attempt to take advantage of stellar phenomena in the Avarice system. In X4: Tides of Avarice, you will find out more about these curious events, while you upgrade the Erlking using research and resources acquired during your adventure.
The Astrid, an incredibly lavish and luxurious yacht, projects wealth and importance. Owned by the CEO of the Northriver Company, Brantlee Northriver, it is rumoured to be the fastest ship in the galaxy. With its sleek design, the Astrid is a ship unlike anything you've ever come across in the X universe. What mysteries might it hold?
    Salvage shipwrecks to recycle resources
Have you ever come across a shipwreck and wished you could use it in a profitable way? In the Avarice system, the Riptide Rakers, a loosely organised group of scavengers and traders, have developed the means to salvage wrecks and use them in production. Either tow the wreck with one of the new tug ships, or dismantle the wreck right where you found it using a new deconstruction ship. Once you've reached a station equipped with a recycling module, watch your scrap metal turn into building resources.

if you pick 'Planned Attack' or whatever it is on the map, the ships have to get into position before they'll attack. If you force the attack they will go in as soon as they can. The ship you are on is moving to get sight of one of the station parts. Use groups for ships. Use the smaller/med ships at the start for the station drones etc, when it's time to destroy station parts, pull them out and let your big ships do it from a distance.

In most cases, if you plan to fight Vigor Syndicate - you have to be prepared, hammer against the hammer, get the horde of fighters, add some XL/L ships (if you can), the best way to get the same horde - have at least neutral relationships with VS and buy the Kyds from their wharf (this way you get fleet and remove resources from their storages), while they build your invasion fleet - dock at their main production stations and slice production, turret terminals. When you are ready - attack their wharf and shipyard sector first, kill production modules manually, while your fleet takes their fighters. Once production is cripled - they are done, it's just a matter of time.

Do you produce your own materials for ship building or do you buy them? So far im just making credits from traders and miners but definitely want to get to the station side of things. Also, I thought you could only have one eirkling built at a time? Do you use a mod? Thanks

I'd have the fighters on intercept so they can take care of fighters while big boys are station bashing.
