      Sounds like the basterd that called himself my dad ,he was no dad he was a child abuser and nearly a child killer. P.s. the law dint do anything they bleaved him not a at the time child 💔 so now I have no family or friends, no one wants someone as damaged as I am in there life so I was kicked out of the family because I'm damaged. 😢

      @@MansMan42069 Agreed. It felt very contrived. It would have been more natural if Soldier boy had just teamed up with Homelander, because as he said, he wanted to have a son. Then the fights can all happen as planned, with a little bit of shifts;
      Maeve vs Homelander
      And the Boys vs Soldier Boy, but Black Noir comes and helps the boys (if you want, you can keep the scene where Homelander punches him, but just have him show up here as a surprise, for a final sacrifice against Soldier Boy. Or heck, have him help Maeve fight Homelander. I just felt like his death in the show was wasted)
      And Ryan just takes a back seat. Butcher can really fit anywhere here, since he has the biggest connection to Homelander, Soldier Boy, and Ryan.
      I could also suggest that Soldier Boy DOESN'T become the enemy. Now, how could that work? Soldier Boy, Butcher, Mauve, and the crew vs Homelander? Bro is getting jumped, except Homelander still has Atrain and Deep on his side (though this is a messier idea, as it takes the focus off of the main characters)

Maybe if homelander was raised by someone like the Kent’s he wouldn’t have turned out the way he did. Keep in mind he already had those evil tendencies but maybe that nice family would have taught him something he never learned about compassion, humbleness , being kind , remorse, understanding the value of being life. He coulda still been an asshole but he coulda possibly turned out a lot better not just pure evil with the right guidance he could been somewhere right in the middle he probably would have saved the plane even if it was his fault that the pilot died things like that idk if that makes sense ?? Red Hood doesn't have just Daddy issues. He got whole family issues. His mother abandoned him, shot him, and left him for dead to be beaten by the Joker, his biological father was always in and out of jail, abandoned him, and intentionally O'Ded his stepmother, his stepmother was a sex trafficked child who also was a druggie who O'D. His adoptive father beat him, abandoned him and disowned him several times for not living up to his expectations, his adoptive family casted him out as a murderer, beat him and locked him inside of the Arkham Asylum to have experiments conducted on him with behavioral drugs that nearly turned him insane illegally. His ex-girlfriend whom he nearly proposed to in Ravager cheated on him with every single male member of his brother's teen titans team, (Tim Drake, Superboy, Bart Allen, Red Devil, Beast Boy, Cyborg and clone Speedy) all while they where together. His ex-girlfriend Artemis dated him as an experiment leading him on to him almost proposing to her only for her to reveal she was already married to a female Amazonian on Thymiscria. Isabel, (another ex-girlfriend whom he almost proposed to) rejected him due to the fact that he couldn't offer her a normal life.

This could've been played straight, bitter and resentful. Instead, he unveiled a deeply hurt and lost son, confused by his father withholding love. All accomplished by masterful acting skills and excellent control. This guy possesses phenomenal ability and talent.

    Soldier Boy is def one of the best characters on the show. Also love how Butcher goes on and on about how Homelander isn't his kid and finally convinces Soldier Boy to get the job done but then at the moment of truth he proves his own hypocrisy by wanting to protect Ryan and abort killing Homelander

  • @Ri-XBlazer
    @Ri-XBlazer ปีที่แล้ว +79

    Rewatching this scene hits even harder because I don't even remember that little part at the end with him talking about both wanting kids and also wanting to be a better father then his own- Which hits even harder when you you realize Soldier Boy still values Homelander as he's his own flesh and blood but by wanting to be better then his old man, he stuck to his word with Butcher despite the obvious conflicts of interest because he realized Homelander was that much of a danger. It sucks even more when you realize that both Homelander and Soldier Boy both just want to be "Good enough for the people"
    The only difference is Homelander seems waaaaay beyond redemption while Soldier Boy also seems to have down a similar path but is fighting like he'll to crawl out of that box, that hole, that pit of despair- Soldier Boy unlike Homelander ironically would've done right by his kid had he been given the chance. But I still like to think Ryan matters most in that aspect if you couldn't completely roght by your kid then make sure to make it roght by assisting your kid in raising their's (Still sucks when you consider Season 3 ended with Butcher turning on Soldier Boy because he literally convinced the man his own son was too far gone, both his and the one Butcher's wife Becca).

The drunk father just tells Clay “you’re not worth it.” And Clay internalizes that as “people who care about me will use violence to show it.” Which is also why he beats his son almost every episode, I loved that show, it was a decade ahead of its time, if it were made today it would be bigger than Rick and Morty I believe.
