- This is a hype vs reality review of the Reate manufactured Chaves Redencion 229, with belt satin ground m390 blade. This is my comprehensive review with size specs and comparisons, as well as footage of me using the knife. The hanky at the beginning was made by JD @shadow_born_hanks on Instagram.

Just a little fyi for whoever would like to know. The materials for a knife with m390 steel and titanium handles cost about $75 add $9 for the rest. $15 for the m390 $60 for the titanium. If you are going to get a titanium handled knife look for texture on the scales it makes it worth more. A plain titanium scale is water jet cut but they have to add in a cnc machine to put a texture on it. Peace brothers and happy knifing.

I Absolutely Love that Spanto Blade , a good hollow grind is my favorite grind . It's great to hear they are treating their steel right , I'm almost afraid to buy a knife with M390/20CV/204P , it's safer to buy S35VN or S30V at this point .
Yeah man, the grind on this thing is amazing. I agree... I think a lot of companies are starting to come around, and the ones that are pushing it, will excel.

Another outstanding, informative video. Just made a have to acquire knife more desirable. Weight really isn't an issue to me personally because of what I call weight to usefulness ratio. I carry a Cold Steel 4Max and AD10 daily though so I am one of the weird ones. Thanks again and keep doing what you do.

There is a locating pin on mine. Could use a second one though and a tighter fit. It’s quite loose.

I had redencion #22. I won the bid for it back in 2014, so I was the first owner. Unfortunately, I sold it to make ends meet. It had bronze titanium handles with a purple back spacer using a acid washed cpm 3v blade. If it is still out there, I am willing to buy it back.

$225.00 is a good price point on this knife. Knives similar that sell for double are just doing so to be known as " a expensive knife".

Why do all Medford knives look like they were designed by a four-year-old?
But too be honest for a chino made this is way too much. 350$
350 is very pricey for it.... it does line up with being manufactured by Reate, and the price that the original Streets went for, but I can understand why that seems like too much, considering what other Chinese companies are putting out. Reate does seem to take better care of the heat treatment and grinding though, so I do see some hidden value there.
