    Great job Rob, you are the only knife reviewer that I have found that addressed the corner sharpness issue. As we've discussed before, the only issue I have with this knife is the sharpness of the corners. I have a few thumb stud Redencions and the corner sharpness is not an issue because of hand positioning when the knife is deployed.
    Still a great knife though. Will for sure throw some skiffs in it.

      Thank you! I hope it helps because I can tell you ever so slight buffing of the corners has made a world of difference!! 👍

    Wow great video bro! I was the same when i first got mine & wasn't to happy with the deployment because like you, there wasn't a nice kick when opening & the more i did that the harder & stiffer it got to open & shut. Thanks for the video bro i dissembled it, followed your video step by step & WOW it's a totally different Kickstop lol I'm so happy & thankful right now. Thank you bro for a great video. Thank You Rob!

    Hi. Great detailed video! I have the non-kickstop Tanto and carry it regularly. Definitely one of my favorite knives in my collection. Question: are the stock bearings from Reate ceramic? I have yet to take mine apart for a full cleaning, so this was helpful and interesting. Action on mine is still buttery smooth and drop shut. I'm also going to polish my skull clip after seeing this video. Thanks for the info/tips!

    I'm still stuck on my Kaviso Exclusive QSP Penguin with S35v and Ti Scales. The action and detent are absolutely AMAZING. It's my favorite flipper action knife by a long shot.

    Hi Rob its taken awhile but Ive just come across your videos and I'm very impressed, informative without the yelling and hype. Could you please tell me where I can find your video about knocking all those sharp edges off the Chavez and what tools you used. Many thanks from a new fan!

      Sadly, I did not record a video on this as it was more of a try to see if it’d work. I need to record that because you are not the only one asking. I can tell you that it took patience’s and making sure that I protected the areas around corners with blue masking tape and then using my diamond stone to smooth the corners to a softer rounded point. Be patient. I used my KME diamond stones. I started off with 300 grit. Then I used my 600 grit. Then finally using my 1200 grit.

    Sir, I’ve spent hours messing with this knife, the detent and tuning it. Check that the phosphor bronze washers are contacting on both sides, micro micro adjustments and it becomes fall shut.

    • @Robs_Nerdy_Knives
      @Robs_Nerdy_Knives  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m sorry that it was a challenge, as I had pretty good experience on mine. I do this regularly, so I may have either been lucky or just had the right feel for my knife’s needed adjustment. Hopefully, it will get better.

      @@Robs_Nerdy_Knives I do as well, I’m realizing now I was sent 5.0mm ID, 9.7mm OD bearings as the owner I sent measurements to sent me the bearings he believed would fit better. It doesn’t feel like a detent issue it seems to be a geometry issue. The bearings not working I went to my factory bearings and after some fine pivot tuning it fires out fantastically and drops shut. I just noticed that it becomes much more smooth when the washers on the Kickstop mechanism have even pressure on either side.

    I really hate the screws on the pocketclip. I cannot understand why they do not use screws for a plain look....

    • @Robs_Nerdy_Knives
      @Robs_Nerdy_Knives  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There’s a new one that they just dropped that has the hidden screw clips.

    Having trouble with mine after disassembly and cleaning/lubing. When I put everything back together the action is amazing. But after it sits for awhile it’s starts getting stuck when opening and doesn’t fire good at all. Any ideas?

      Disassemble and re-assemble making sure things are where they need to be and in the right directions.

    Imo skiffs are excellent when a knife is adored I like to give it the best 👍. Lol “ make a happy little knife “.
    I don t like a stiff stiff detent . I ve found that if I can fail them and the blade stops at 10 or 11 o’clock is good enough but around 9 o’clock or under position is too light . Also , it’s fun to tune them to be the best they can in action by adjusting the screws and lockbars .

    • @Robs_Nerdy_Knives
      @Robs_Nerdy_Knives  ปีที่แล้ว

      It is fun to get the action one likes. I agree. For me, this blade is so heavy that there’s no slowing it down unless I left it as is. For some that may be perfect. For me, I like it the way I have it now. It’s not a crazy drop but a controlled drop. I like that a lot.

    My hands are shmedium so I don’t see the back of the knife being a problem for me. I do want to see a deep carry skull though. Might be neat.

    I have an Exclusive from WOF Gold Dark Matter CF DLC with CPM-20CV Tanto #34/50 with skiff bearings. For some reason, after disassembly and cleaning and lubing, I put the regular bearings back in, and my knife works better? I think I'll put the skiff bearings in my EMP Relative that i just got from the pre-order. That EMP Relative is a beast, just like my Chaves Exclusive Kickstop. Thanks for the content, it really helped me.

      @Electricbananapeeler Congrats, you'll love it! I had my back spacer and skull clip anodized dark yellow/gold to match the dark matter gold cf scale. I sent those pieces back in to WOK about a month later after receiving the knife. It looks 🔥! I'm #34/50 with the Tanto blade

    I really like the knife. I would keep the skull, but that is me. 😆I do wish it had a better choil on it, however part of the kickstop design I would guess.

    • @Robs_Nerdy_Knives
      @Robs_Nerdy_Knives  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve never used Taco Washers and only use Skiffs. Skiffs were perfect. I left the PB washers on my KICKSTOP but I did polish them as I do all PB washers.

  • @Idaho_Knife_Climb

    I’m about to do a review and go over it. It is possible to get drop shut but it’s very very tedious

    • @Robs_Nerdy_Knives
      @Robs_Nerdy_Knives  ปีที่แล้ว

      As with any detent tuning, I always recommend to practice first on less expensive and lower end knifes. The key will be having a reference point for where you started to see how much you adjusted it. Because this blade is so big and heavy, I only adjust between 10-20%. That is a small adjust but enough for my knife as I recall.
