@@bubbag8895 totalbiscuit (john bain) died of cancer a couple of years ago. He has been sorely missed, no-one has really taken his place is games criticism sphere. We also lost his friend INControl Geoff Robinson soon after and very suddenly, who was also a great cynical critic of the games industry and former Esports competitor. They are two huge holes in my life and many of us have been grieving ever since. Of course I didn't know them personally but they were such fixtures and decent, honest people that I respected hugely and depended on. Now they're gone. It's just so, so sad.
So they just released this on Switch. i was looking up reviews for it and found this old video. Still the best review out there for this game so far. how he named his units and how he play the game really sold this game for me. Miss you TB, you magnificent bastard.
@Kyle Whitehead Everyone knows that part of the fun of XCOM is naming your soldiers after your friends and watching them all get killed in hilarious fashion.
Finally getting around to this one and wanna shout it out for the man that first got me into PC gaming and taught me how to read an Options menu. R.I.P TotalBiscuit
Still playing and enjoying the game to this day (although only heavily modded). A trip down memory lane to hear the late, great TB wax lyrical on the matter. Still miss you man.
Yeah... I still get that feeling in my throat when watching his videos. Man, he's one of very, very few people whose death made me actually cry, and I realize he didn't know me, or I didn't really know him, but... I knew enough. Sniff.
Hey guys, thanks for tuning into to another video, at forgotten weapons dot com, I'm Ian McCollum and I'm here today to tell you most of these bugs still haven't been fixed.
I once fell victim to the RNG when my entire squad missed overwatch shots on a Sectoid, which proceeded to run away at full speed through the entire rest of the level, waking up every pod at once, which ended up wiping my squad. Never had anything like it before or since, but man was I ever mad
You've convinced me not to purchase. I get depressed thinking of all the classic franchises that have been dumbed down and mismanaged over the years. XCOM still sets the bar and I doubt it will ever be surpassed by any modern reiterations.

now am sure X-Com 3 will have to get even higher with how good War of the chosen was and with the Arrival of Pheonix point that feature very cool new mechanic
im really sad hes not here with us anymore, at the same time im glad his reviews will carry on
First Impressions TB didnt do review
CowboyJohn He has reviews on steam.
Who?
they were first impressions xD ! But I feel you :)

He completed the game before he did this vid, so I'd say review for this one. @@artistsometimes2729
Love how TB named his soldiers after his friends.
Doesn't everybody?

I really liked XCOM:EU. This video sold XCOM 2 for me. Thank you once again, TB
I still don't like xcom2. Sort of feels like they've doubled down on everything I hated in XcomEU. Still better than Declassified...
I love picking up an old game and also seeing that Total Biscuit has done a review for it!
I just loved how Dodger manages to live up to her name despite being flanked at the end. TB couldn't have planned that better even if he tried.
Big time rip. I love this series, biscuit got me into it
me too, the day that he died I went out and downloaded the Co-Optional character group that he made, so he'll always be a part of XCom for me
Makes me sad to remember that he is no longer with us, but I will remember him as he was in those videos.

Rip biscuit, I would always look forward to watch your content.
Total biscuit is a legend of PC Gaming. I could never buy a game without watching his review or first impressions first. RIP King.
I still use these videos years later to navigate my steam back catalog. Rest in peace TB.

I still love playing this today. With tons of mods and War of The Chosen, this is such a great buy and I would gladly recommend it to anyone today.
Man, I really miss John...

“We’ll build a wall” “it’s a dinosaur, quit it” is a line referencing Pacific Rim that still holds up 8 years later.
Most of these bugs still haven't been fixed. Amazing game still imo.
P.S hope heaven has FOV sliders or there will be hell to pay

Gods I miss this guy
Fuck me, the tears comming in from hearing his buttery brittish voice.. I miss him
Right there with you..
Rest in peace, TB.
Rip
This was the game I was playing when he passed away, and that was also on the day of my birthday.

miss you totalbiscuit. May your rest be eternal and your shots always land.

Tb be like “only lost 3 characters the whole way” I started today and already have 7 in my memorial. --
We miss you TB... you'd be scratching you head if you ever saw J Sterling.
Why?
Am i weird for just putting some of these videos on, just because i miss TB? He wasn't just a youtuber for me.
14:47, "It's a me, Mario, and this is my new mushroom."
Shame TB never got a chance to play Chimera Squad.
Merry Christmas TB.
Pretty awesome there is a TB review of this! Yay!
I saw his small snippet on steam about the game just now on steam since I followed him as a curator 😭
I miss you man...
Action camera bug, why is it still in?
Just about to install this, so happy just for a moment feels like this is a fresh review for me.
Rest in peace
So... I get the don’t call bullshit if you fail on 1 dice roll but.... what about getting hit 3 times in a row from low ground in high cover?
That's how the dice be
I got recommended this now I feel sad
Rip mr bain...
And thank you for xcom
Rest in peace John
Yea this was on my birthday
oh boy, the feelings
Hello I’m here
🕯️
You have to get good at it to play the difficult levels
Still not too fond of xcom2 but will finish the game eventually if nothing else because he liked it. I hope they have PCs where he is.
I am at a loss for words.
There is a polish shop named xcom :3
You've convinced me not to purchase. I get depressed thinking of all the classic franchises that have been dumbed down and mismanaged over the years. XCOM still sets the bar and I doubt it will ever be surpassed by any modern reiterations.
Normal Is too easy Is not a proper criticism because that's what difficulty settings are for
In your (dimwit) opinion.
definitely turn off screen space reflections

XCOM EU/EW > XCOM 2
