This makes you respect the pilots of JAL 123 for being able to keep their 747 in the air for over 30 minutes!
The fact that everyone tried to fly in that situation and failed show's how skillful they're
@@Randomly_Browsing Ye, shows the skill but also how powerful adrenaline is you know
Everyone talking about AA587 and JAL 123 but no one talking about DHL 611
@@0w3nn First of all, the plane was right next to the airport, secondly, the plane was easier to control as you only have to monitor 2 engines, and thirdly the vertical stabilizer was there so the plane wouldn’t just go be dumb but you are correct they were the first to land with 0 hydraulics.
@@juanleon3875 dude that’s not the flight I’m talking about how about you go and google dhl 611 before posting something like that
7:26 Swiss turned into a cow😂💀

"crashing through some trees" I thought he was gonna say "we are able to fly quite with ease"
1:59 casually clears the mountain at 3 feet
I’d like to see the stabilizer move left/right around the body of the plane just to see how it would affect things.

I know this may come across as cringey, but Nick, I just want you to know that you are my idol and the most amazing TH-camr I’ve known. I love you so much and you are the reason I love aviation. I say this genuinely, thank you for everything you do. ❤️
7:39 Japan Airlines classic 😂
We can always trust Swiss to provide an answer to a question from a crash several decades ago
Car drifting: ❌️
AIRCRAFT DRIFTING: ✅️
In airliners, they do kinda need all the vertical stabilizer to fly properly, but with Military planes, some can fly pretty well even without some of the vertical stablizer, for example in 1964, a B-52 bomber managed to land safely while missing most of its vertical stabilizer
But with the b52 it has 8 engines, to counteract any instability.
@@zarimations7735 and even then it landed with difficulty
@@0w3nn yeah, even with 4 engines like the 747, which would counteract insability better than a twin jet. The rudder would still be necessary, a case study I can think of is jal 123. Not sure if the b52 crew also lost hydraulic power
F-15 with ripped off wing in the corner 😆
5:35 “I mean…japan airlines 12🌲”
6:31
"WE'VE GOT A JAL Airlines Classic WE ARE DEAD" 💀💀💀
I heard twa for some reason
The fact that not only jal 123 lost most of its vertical stabiliser all hydraulic system was completely destroyed make it impossible to control. But the crew still managed to “fly” it about 30 minutes is crazy.
this is something ive always wondered about, thanks swiss!

SWISS WHEN WILL YOU BRING ME SWISS CHOCOLATE ❤❤❤
Ahh, yes, imagine airlines start using swiss001's idea... I'm not going to fly anymore
As such a critical component for flight, I’m surprised there isn’t a very small backup vertical stabilizer with a rudder that can be extended from the fuselage possibly from the bottom
nice video! love the queen of the skyes❤✈
Let's get Swiss to 1m subs by the end of the year!
Try to do the same question without any controls like united 232
Love your vids swiss, can you try to put powerfull engines on the md11 ❤
Get an qantas plane and mount the gear above (to land it upside down) and land it in Sydney :)
Like this for Swiss to see
Swiss the reporter😂
Now this video is interestingly interesting
Swiss was about to change planes forever but science said nah 💀
Super safe swiss 001 landing 0:33
AA587 was caused by The Pilot Who Put Too Much Input on the rudder which ripped off the tail and JAL123 was caused by a faulty tail repair after a Tailstrike while landing in 1978 (I Think)
noweverybody getting faster and faster
How creative Swiss
6:31 We got JAL airlines Classic we are dead💀💀💀
7:34 Japan 123 Nightmares 💀💀💀💀💀
I'd be curious as to how the plane handles as you reach the fully configured stall speed.
1:03 Swiss 👋👋
7:33 me flying the plane that I just made in Drawbricks:
U should see what happens if you make the horizontal stabilizer and wings bigger lol
37 seconds! Love ur vids btw
20 seconds
You should try with the autopilot on. I wanna see if it can control heading by using thrust differential.
Did you try to controln it by adding more thrust on the engines that are on the side opposite to the direction of yaw?
All I saw in the first second of the video was JAL123
Make the 717-100, 717-100lite and 717-300 concepts (I really like 717)
5:46 yea a ''few'' minutes
Over 30 was very impressive
Video Idea: Do Planes Really Need Horizontal Stabilizers.
"Ground collision with a dino-ninja" 💀👍🗿✔️
Swiss 001 can you please do a review of the MSFS 727?
7:32 gas GAS GAS!!
You know a video is GOOD, when the title says something about how much we ACTUALLY need (something) component in the plane.
WHOOP WHOOP PULL UP WHOOOP WHOOOP PULL UP🔥🔥🔥
swiss is repeating history
Its crazy that I watched a video documentary about JAL 123 just before Swiss uploaded this..
I mean it is an interesting topic for sure considering how it happened back then
maybe airplane makers can take notes from this and make a certain part of the vertical stabilizer 100% stable so that we don't repeat history
*nah just joking they should make the whole thing as stable as possible and avoid dodgy maintenance
Nope
@@Randomly_Browsing bruh I was joking

Swiss, now do this with the horizontal stabilizers
Swiss, did u get a cold? Idk, it seems so from your voice, sorry if i'm wrong.
And, if I'm right, get well soon❤
Hi swiss001, just letting you know that there been a plane accident in Brazil and the plane was doing flatspin before crashing and it is all on camera and the plane was making noise when it was falling, maybe make a video about it and explain it to us please, thanks
I love how he use the TWA 747-200
As I am Japanese, just remembering Japan Airlines Flight 123 makes me want to cry.😭😭😭
I really shouldn’t be watching this while I’m on a plane that’s about to take off, yet here I am… 😅
Nice
"not that dangerous of a situation" as he skims hills with a broken rear stabilizer 💀
prime swiss would have 1.57m views by now
Can you use differential thrust to save yourself?
Bro recreated the JAL 123 accident but the B747 was from TWA ☠☠☠☠
Yes got here under 5 minutes
Now do a video about if you can land the 747 without having the cockpit like the TWA Crash
maybe you could use each engione on the sides.
but iu dont think that irl that would work xd
Swiss did you go to Oshkosh?
His voice got so deep, glad swiss finally entered puberty 😇
Part of Japan Airlines 123 problems was that the hydraulics were lost.
5:13 bro you make of japan airlines flight 123 ☠️☠️☠️
