World's Fastest Time Attack Tesla - Unplugged Performance Ascension-R at Buttonwillow In Car Footage

* Note - Harry's lap timer recorded data but unfortunately not video of the fastest lap on street tires or slicks, however this lap of 1:53.7 is within half a second of the fastest lap and is likely more entertaining to watch since this lap time was accomplished despite going off track and being held up in traffic!
Backstory:
Two weeks prior we announced entry into Pikes Peak International Hillclimb with legendary driver and Unplugged Performance advisor Randy Pobst behind the wheel. At the time of announcement we did not yet even have a car...but we did have a plan! On Friday night, July 17th we picked up a brand new Model 3 Performance from Tesla. On Monday July 20th we began installing our full Ascension-R package of bolt on street tune upgrades to the fresh car. The build finished Friday night at 11pm and we drove it up to Buttonwillow on Autopilot. The car's first charge occurred at 2am at Buttonwillow the day of TeslaCorsa 9. We enlisted an industry friend Oscar Jackson Jr to try his hand at first shakedown of the build. It was Oscar's first time ever driving a Tesla on street or track! We did not expect to break any records during the car's first shakedown, although our parts have been used on the previous record holding XPO Sales x Unplugged Performance car and as we have evolved our parts we knew we could go faster potentially.
Results:
At 11:25AM the car broke the record for fastest ever production Tesla on street tires running a 1:54.266 on 200 tread wear tires. *This lap also was faster than the fastest record on slicks.
Later in the day we tried a used set of Pirelli slicks and ran a 1:53.277 on a 50% state of charge battery which set another record and solidified the car as the fastest Tesla ever recorded.

How is it even possible to drive this fast? It takes incredible dexterity, coordination and an amazing car from Unplugged Performance!

Pulling 1.5g's through a corners. Not bad for a mid tier sedan.
Using gravity as a fuel. The metal that which is a stable version of element 115 creates a anti gravity propulsion system which allows you as a driver to bend gravity and go!
Tesla needs to make a Plaid M3 after the Plaid Model S. No reason not to, and demand would be high. M3 plaid with a lower, widebody and more powerful battery would be the ultimate affordable sports car.
Can't canabilize the model s though. Because at over 1000# less weight. Anything near raven level power. Would absolutely destroy the model s!
That said, watch right after they release the plaid/pladium model s&x. Tesla will have some kind of upgrade for the m3p. 😁
Imagine what's coming ahead with the smaller model 2 made in China, even less weight, a Plaid version of that is the car I'm waiting for
A capable cup car in stock spec would be nice.
Something similar to this one, but a bit more refined due to the money behind it.
Lighter, series produced special body parts, light panels for rear doors, etc.
In stock form they'd be able to race each other in formal competition, and they'd be a great platform to do suspension, brake, wheel and aero upgrades on for time attack.
Just two of the rear motors, one front, one rear, would do the job. World touring cars are like 350 hp. GT3 500-600 hp.
Two stock Model 3 motors would be 500 + hp already, maybe 600 hp peak.
A lookalike chassis such as in DTM would be cool. Incorporate the battery better rather than a whole big alu case. Use something like BMW I3's chassis tech. Carbon reinforced plastic, was it? Quite light and reasonably affordable.
Without passengers the pack could be more compact, shorter cooling lines, less packaging, carbon box. Quick plug and play from the floor or through the glass roof that's be plastic.

the company is called Unplugged Performance, they named that Tesla the "Dark Knight" they run in Global Time Attack. they built other tesla that are even more Built. they ran a 1.43 over at Button Willow which is really fkn fast. but sorry I'm not into electric. lol
Can we get more pictures and details on the modifications? In the thumbnail it looks like there is a lower lip besides the Ascension R front bumper and fenders.

Ever think about using evaporative cooling on the radiator to aid in thermal management? A 20 lb tank of c02 with liquid foggers can supercool the radiator to around -56 degrees probably for the entire pikes run and will leave nothing on the course as it will all evaporate. You get the added benefit of the massive energy absorbtion of the latent heat of vaporization as the liquid co2 flashes into a gas.

I got 1.3gs on my stock Model 3 Performance on Norwegian mountainroads the other day. The car grips like hell.

- Tob1uss- those are all stock cars on the list. If everyone slapped on their modified car’s fastest time, the Model 3 wouldn’t be up there. A FWD Scion tC would be right behind that Viper ACR on that list. Modified cars shouldn’t be on that list.
