I am so happy to see Nick there. He is so skilled at so many things. I have full confidence that this is going to be an amazing series and I can't wait for the next one!
I am so glad you have the great Nick to help you. After seeing how he rebuilt the organ, we know he has the mindset to tackle anything for you. And you will be learning along the way. Fantastic!
I think having Nick to work with him will give Ryan the confidence to know what needs doing in what order. He has the enthusiasm to do this renovation, and now, I think he will have the confidence to relax and learn as he goes. By the time the house is done Ryan will be a master.🖤🇨🇦
The look on Ryan's face when Nick explained that the ceilings and all must come down to a "blank canvas"😂 He's likely mentally checking his bank account.
@lifeofryan. Looks great 😁❤️ so glad you have Nick to help you out . Just alittle perspective my friend wanted to add a woodburning fireplace to her house price quote was 25k in the US , you have 3 fireplaces ❤❤❤👍👍👍 and a house 🏠 for 19k awesome so happy for you Ryan !
Brave Nick, standing in the cold rain, clearing out the drain pipe. Ryan, what a good friend you have! Nick’s correct in fixing problems as you come across them, nothing’s worse than spending time and money making something look nice only to undo everything to rectify an underlying problem. It’s great to see you two getting at it, lights and water taken care of today(😉), new floor/ceiling next. Bravo!
Thank you Nick! Ryan needed this support of water, light and a trip to Brico with someone that has the knowledge to be a great help in his start of becoming a DIY renovator. By the time Ryan is done he will know more than he ever thought possible.
Ryan I am happy for you to be able to have Nick help you with this renovation. Thank you Nick and thank you Moon family for getting on while Daddy Moon is out of town.
Oh, am I excited?! Yes, yes I am! Ryan and Nick doing a reno together and with a bit of humour tossed in? Ryan, your excitement in this particular vlog is endearing and really has me looking forward to tuning in for the next installment, for sure! And, I cannot get enough of the Moons in any form at the moment. Nick is definitely your key to getting this reno done right and with HEART. We are all rooting for you Ryan. Thank you for sharing this project with us! Until next week....👍
So glad to see Nick teaching Ryan. He's a great teacher and Ryan's a good learner. It is, also, good to see that Nick has a goofy, funny side. I think Ryan brings that out in everyone. Thanks for a great vlog!
I don't comment often Ryan, but I'm reliving all the joy of when I bought my very first house in my early twenties - all the discoveries, and the relief of getting the kettle on and the loo up and running for the first time!
Daddy Moon is a treasure! Nick you are a hoot and your character as a friend is beyond admirable! We could only hope to have a brother like you in all of our lives!🥲 Absorb all you can from this man Ryan! Keep up the awesome videos!👏👏🙏🙌 God bless!
So nice that the moon family can sacrifice time with Daddy Moon to help Ryan. We now follow the magic of the moons because of their generous personalities. Ryan you are a lucky man to have such experienced friends. We will follow all of your adventures.
Nick makes a massive difference to getting the house done. So good you will have water and electricity from the beginning (and a toliet). I can see you making great progress now. It's great fun watching your videos.
To be fair, I agree that Nick will definitely speed up the process. Largely because he is an old hand at renovating. Ryan has the enthusiasm and drive to do this…but his confidence needs the boost a friend like Nick can provide. As a first time renovator, it is hard to know where and how to start. The reassurance of Nick being there to explain the process will allow Ryan to relax, and learn the process and techniques Ryan wants to know and understand. Ryan is going to grow in confidence as a builder in leaps and bounds. He just needs some calm guidance to provide him a leg-up, and he will come into his own.🖤🇨🇦
I am so happy Nick is able to help you RyRy. You shouldn't be alone doing that kind of reno. Glad you are progressing. Be safe. Remember to wear your safety equipment.❤
Wow! What progress in one day! Fixed drain, working toilet and tap and leccie! Utterly brilliant! That will make it a comfortable building site to work on as you have all the amenities. Great idea to take the ceiling down at the same time as the floor too.
Nick can teach you like Simon has been guiding Yannis. He’s right about taking the shoddy out for a fresh start. It’s gonna be hard work but you’ll get more viewers who enjoy the process. Here’s your chance to learn and show everyone what you can do. I’m going to subscribe to his channel. Thank you ick for helping Ryan. I believe him to be teachable haha I hope😋
That was brilliant. Nick has a wealth of knowledge to share. That gutter 🤢 bet that stinks!! But water and electric 👍 that'll make the renovation so much more comfortable 👍 Looking forward to the next one ❤️
I’m learning right along with Ryan. As many restoration channels as I follow and learn from, I’d be in much a similar state as Ryan about the restoration process with my own personal 0% experience fixing up a [historical] home. Surprised at the wood floor underneath the dirt portion. I was expecting…nothing. Rather embarrassingly to admit. Pumped for the future of this place. It’s having so much love being put into it. What up? From sunny…well, pretty cold right now…Southern California, USA.
Hello 👋🏻 from Southern California 🌴......Ryan, you got a lot of things sorted out this week with Nick's help. You can learn so much from him & that's what friends do for each other. You helped out with his vlogs with your expertise and now you can Crack On... as Billy always says 👍🏻...
When I saw Nick freeing up the plugged downspout, it reminded me of watching him clear the drainage at his own home, when the front was flooded. Nick was the right person to assist Ryan on this project, for sure!
The Dream Team. Great banter. Nick is priceless, hard working with lots of knowledge. May I ask a question does Nick live close to the restoration project? I know he had to travel 5 hours to get to the convent for organ rebuild.
Hey Ryan and Nick, great job today. Ryan I am so excited for you, your joy every time something gets ticked off the list, or an unseen issue is fixed, is amazing to see. I am so happy you have nick to lend a hand and to give you guidance. Looking forward to next week, am watching all the adverts as a way to help out.
Ryan and Nick, it was great to see more than one issue tackled in a single video! Add to that your sparkling personalities and it was a wozer! episode. 😊 hugs from sunny Arizona 💖😎💖
Nick I’m so glad you are able to give Ryan a hand. Your knowledge and experience are just what he needed. Ryan I’ve never seen any one get so happy about two lightbulbs and a flushing toilet! And it only cost you 19,000 😂. Carry on, you guys made my day ❤
Ryan, I love your music choice for this video. Really great, upbeat and fun. You are definitely putting all your trust in Nick, your face says it all❤Magical Mr. Moon is a fantastic guy, who knows his stuff. Good to see your progress. It was interesting to see how the floor was constructed. I was wondering about it , thanks for sharing it.
you could demolish the "first floor garage" on the right side and build a tower with the stairs connecting all floors. so, the other parts of the building could have larger rooms. what do you think?
Great start Guy's looking forward to the next episode. It's good that you arrived on a wet day Nick and spotted that blocked drain. Major issue resolved right off the bat.
Just curious, where are you and Nick staying during the renovation? Maybe Billy’s? Wasn’t sure the distance between your “new” house and the Pethericks’. Good luck on this big project! ❤️🇨🇦
I’ve been wondering about the logistics as well. Seems if Nick lives 4+hours away, he must be traveling more than 8hrs in a day to help Ryan. I’m guessing they are bartering labor and Ryan is building and administering the Moon’s website. Billy’s web of friends in France is proving to be a blessing to them all. And a goldmine of viewing pleasure for us. I’d love for them all to get together and have one massive Q&A to explain their connections and the distances between their homes…including Edd&Anna,Phil,Stephanie… what a great network.
So good to have Nick with you because he is definitely more experienced. It's going to be great when you start. But preparing is the most important thing plus now you have lights and water.
Thank god for Nick Moon! Treat him like gold, Ryan. You don't know yet how lucky you are. I dreaded the eventual episode where the damp foundation on the facade of your house would be addressed --and Nick did it! Right away! Right. Away.
We missed you Ryan but what a fantastic video! I must also add that I LOVED the music as well! This renovation is really starting to take shape, so glad that Nick is helping you, love the way he works and his hilarious yet positive attitude! Can't wait to see what happens next week!
Brings back memories of my first house. It was a dump but it was all we could afford and we loved it and fixed it up. Proud to say it was a nice house when we sold it and moved on. There is a lot of satisfaction in saving a house Ryan. Now that you got a toilet and a light bulb you can move in Ryan 😀
I Love watching what you are up to. It's always so interesting. Ryan, you have got some fabulous friends . It's wonderful to see you all pulling together. Onwards and upwards. Good luck.
Ryan this was such fun to watch and sooo uplifting! The best thing is your joy and enthusiasm shining through. Nick has provided you with the knowledge confidence boost you need to progress and enjoy this journey, cos otherwise it would of been scary as!!! Cannot wait for next week!
I suspect the main purpose of the clay fill was sound deadening more than thermal insulation. The joists look a bit small for that kind of load though, even though the span isn't all that big. We've got similar floors in Austria but the clay fill was brought in dry, so removing it is very dusty work but easier because you don't need to break it up. Apparently you're supposed to remove all of it every time you open a floor because God knows what they put in there, it's not just clay but all kinds of recycled building materials plus worn-out overalls and shoes, meal leftovers, burnt matches, really anything you could imagine. From digging up floors in various houses I learned that apparently late-19th and early-20th century matches were a fluorescent pink. BTW, that song never fails to make me smile, it's one of my favourites!
Nice job with getting things done! I was honestly worried about that dirt floor and the condition of the wood underneath…I’m glad you didn’t end up on the 1st floor clearing it out!! When was your home originally built?
11:58 🤣😂😂🤣 Let there be 💡!! I'm going to repeat what most are saying, I'm so glad Nick is there to help you Ryan. This is going to be fun ☺️ Thank you Nick!
Well ❤ …You Ryan have the best teacher … Nick is a problem solving kinda guy… and he has Prioritise the tasks eg the water fixing 💦 then the floor / ceiling etc etc … I absolutely love his work ethic’s…. he can think ahead and think outside the box … Your new found energy is awesome because before your where lost and so Overwhelmed 😢… This is going to be a exciting journey… I’m sooooooo happy for you 🥹 Can’t wait for the next vlog , ❤❤❤
I did 'laugh out loud' at the liquid sunshine remark! Hubby's favourite way of describing rain! Thought it was a Cornish thing! (hubby is Cornish born and bred!) x
Welcome Nick. You are in good hands, so to speak, Ryan. I've never seen a house built with this type of construction. It will be entertaining and educational to watch this renovation.
I’d watch Nick Moon read a phone book fully dressed so having him advise you on house rehab is a wonderful plan! Helping him feed his family makes me a fan of yours for life- I’m not sure how that works but I’m hoping everyone working together includes that.
2:48 Working alone, or remodelling in tight spaces, those half-width 2'×8' sheets of tongue & groove look like a blessing. I've never seen similar for sale in US.
Oh Ryan; you picked the right teacher. I love the Moons; all of them and I love you Ryan.
Fantastic!
Agree 👍🏻

He's skilled at taking over that's for sure.
What a team. Enjoyed them before but better together. Love the music too 😂
The look on Ryan's face when Nick explained that the ceilings and all must come down to a "blank canvas"😂 He's likely mentally checking his bank account.
😂🤣🤣 seen that 🙌
Came here to say that 😂
Ryan, your presentation is always full of personality and fun. You are always a pleasure to watch. Wish I was there to help.
Aww thanks so much! ❤️
I totally agree ❤
Me too! We would no doubt be laughing while we work!
Ryan always makes my day 😂
@lifeofryan.
Nick went from stopped up drains at his house to same at Ryan’s. Nothing like hands on experience 😂😂❤
😂 lol so true
Brave Nick, standing in the cold rain, clearing out the drain pipe. Ryan, what a good friend you have! You can’t go wrong with Nick as your partner.
Love seeing you working together- two happy chappies!💕
Hi from a freezing Calgary 🥶
Can I just say how happy I am you aren't doing this alone Ryan. And of course you have all of us behind you too.

😂❤
Ryan I am happy for you to be able to have Nick help you with this renovation. Thank you Nick and thank you Moon family for getting on while Daddy Moon is out of town.
Aqua man Nick, fixing plucked drains at home and at Ryans, he is saving family and friends from disaster and “lightens” up the reno. 😀
That floor is so unreal! It’s exciting to see each layer removed!
What an all round gem of a bloke Nick is.
So glad to see Nick teaching Ryan. He's a great teacher and Ryan's a good learner. It is, also, good to see that Nick has a goofy, funny side. I think Ryan brings that out in everyone. Thanks for a great vlog!
Nick Moon is a wonderful mentor for you, Ryan, so happy that he is helping you get your new house sorted!
I don't comment often Ryan, but I'm reliving all the joy of when I bought my very first house in my early twenties - all the discoveries, and the relief of getting the kettle on and the loo up and running for the first time!
Who wouldn't want a Nick Moon in their life? He truly is a man for all seasons.
Ryan - a pleasure to watch as always. Crack on!

Love the music and presentation. Mr. Moon is a blessing. I'm sure Ryan appreciates his help. Good luck. 😉
So excited for you Ryan, and to have Mr Nick Moon himself as your mentor and help. It will be hard, but fun either way you both.
The Dream Team. Great banter. Nick is priceless, hard working with lots of knowledge. May I ask a question does Nick live close to the restoration project? I know he had to travel 5 hours to get to the convent for organ rebuild.
I'd say no. I seem to recall Ryan's house is still within a half hour of Billy's place so it will be just as far for Nick
so glad you have a friend ,Nick to help you.very interesting to see how old homes were made. Good luck.
Hey Ryan and Nick, great job today. Ryan I am so excited for you, your joy every time something gets ticked off the list, or an unseen issue is fixed, is amazing to see. How exciting to see so much progress at once. Nick is a blessing of knowledge and friendship. Carry on boys. ❤🐨
Nick I’m so glad you are able to give Ryan a hand. Your knowledge and experience are just what he needed. Ryan I’ve never seen any one get so happy about two lightbulbs and a flushing toilet! And it only cost you 19,000 😂. Carry on, you guys made my day ❤
With a light bulb and water for the WC, you can see where you are going. I love a good double entendre.
So excited for you Ryan. So glad Nick is there to show you how to do things. 😊
You two are going to be hilarious together!!! ❤❤❤
Ryan, I love your music choice for this video. Really great, upbeat and fun. Great start Guy's looking forward to the next episode. It's good that you arrived on a wet day Nick and spotted that blocked drain. Major issue resolved right off the bat.
Love seeing you 2 work together!! Seems like Ryan is Nick's adopted nephew!
Just love to see Nick Moon working on your channel. You to work good together.
Great vlog!
You guys are a hoot together!
Nick’s knowhow is just the ticket!
Love the music!
Great job done nick. It's good to work together helping each other
You are sooo lucky to have Nick helping you!!! Hope you are paying him well!!!
Lunch and afternoon tea.
Dynamic Duo! I'm looking forward to your apprenticeship Ryan. EnJoY the ride! Freezing on the Pacific Ocean in Central Oregon❤
Lovely Nick, still smiling in the rain! :)
With Nick ,this can't go wrong. The house will surely come back to life. Good luck.
So good to have Nick with you because he is definitely more experienced. It's going to be great when you start. But preparing is the most important thing plus now you have lights and water.

So much fun seeing you and Nick having a go at it! Glad the gutter, water and lights working fine! At least you can use the toilet now!
Was not enthused about your project until you had Nick Moon to guide you. Looking forward to how you get on.
I Love watching what you are up to. It's always so interesting. Ryan, you have got some fabulous friends . It's wonderful to see you all pulling together.

I suspect the main purpose of the clay fill was sound deadening more than thermal insulation. The joists look a bit small for that kind of load though, even though the span isn't all that big. Nice job with getting things done! I was honestly worried about that dirt floor and the condition of the wood underneath…I’m glad you didn’t end up on the 1st floor clearing it out!! When was your home originally built?

I'm going to repeat what most are saying, I'm so glad Nick is there to help you Ryan. This is going to be fun ☺️
Thank you Nick!
Brilliant video Ryan, lovely seeing Nick giving you help and guidance , I can see this being an epic makeover with lots of laughs along the way🥰 xx
Love the George Ezra tune! Glad to see that dirt floor gone.
