Finally something I can wear while I drink soup and pretend I’m a poor begger woman during the French Revolution who’s taken shelter in the church for the night and given kindness by the kind priest which makes me decide not to steal that pristine silver chalice I eyes on the way in Thanks RJ!
Just wanted to let you know that because of your sock video that you posted about 4 yrs. ago, I was able to knit my very first sock this past Oct./20. It was the easiest sock pattern for me to follow. This has been an almost one yr. project to learn how to knit socks. Thank you!
Wow! I've been looking for someone who explains how to do this, and can find nothing or no one that addresses my questions, until I found YOU with your easy-to-understand way of explaining! I'm so grateful. I will definitely be back for more!
This is by far the best tutorial for knitting mittens. I used to knit tons of socks, mittens and finger-gloves when I was young(er) but over the years forgot all about the geometry. So thank you for uploading this. It was the gussets I struggled with. So this here is exactly the right video for that. Thanks 🙂
I saw some adorable knitted dinosaur gloves on Pinterest a few days ago and decided (with no prior knitting experience) that I was gonna make them. Using ur other videos I’ve taught myself to knit and im now almost done my prototype glove (Was gonna be a final one but I messed up the sizing on the gusset so im going to try make a more formal-ish pattern from this so the next two are better and look like each other. Thank you so much for this perfect tutorial to help me achieve my dinosaur glove dreams.
I'm designing myself a pattern for fingerless mitts/handwarmers/whatever you call them, and I wasn't really sure how to conceptualize the thumb increases. In my head I was just calling it like a half-Raglan situation so I was really surprised when you used the word "gusset" which I only knew from socks before lol but this was super helpful and I feel much more confident going into my design and pattern now! so thanks :)
I just finished my first pair of these fingerless gloves! Thank you so much for all of your information and tips. You did a Great job of explaining all the steps.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I've been trying to learn to knit gloves for a few years now, but always end up giving up because it never seems right, or I can't figure out how it's supposed to look or feel based on a pattern. Appreciate your lesson. Will be watching more. I prefer to knit on circular needles though. So, I need to either figure it out with those or learn to use double pointed needles😱.
Ok love you too. Your videos are the easiest to see the stitches you are making. I am planning to make 2 pairs for presents. The ones I have made before are a 2 by 2 all the way up. I do want to use your gusset and now I don't need to look it up and I like yours the best .
I just finished my first pair of mittens a couple of weeks ago! I like how you handle the top of the thumb better than my pattern did and will have to try your method. We made and picked up only 1 stitch because the gusset came from what was originally 1 stitch. As you can imagine, I ended up with holes around the picked up stitch at the top of the thumb that I had to close up later. I’ll try your method with the thumb with the mitten pattern the next time that I make it. I think that it will work out better.
Loved this Lesson. Years ago I made these; but forgot the Gusset Technique! Ryan, make thine Life Easy, use a Crochet ndle. to do the Pick Ups, one by one, and immediately slide them to a DPN. ;-)
Hi, Love your tutorial. I'm just starting knitting again so call me a newbie to in the round. Bought $$ supplies and rather not buy more for dbl point needles. Have circular. Do you have video for in the round w circular. Thank you!
Rosee P I would say the exact same way he is doing on dpn’s. I’m going to cast on to make mittens using my circulars. I wish I knew what size needles he is using.
You do not say how many stitches you put on each needle……do we just guess or use another pattern for say “small, medium or large” gloves? I see you use the “throw” method for some areas of knitting when it gets tight. Your video is well explained as regards to “what you are doing for example how to increase the gusset”.
Was very excited to see this video pop up in my suggestions today! Months ago one of your videos got me started on the long-anticipated sock-knitting journey. Now I can happily make socks. Looking forward to making these!! Question: Which needle size are you using for these?
Thanks you just inspired me to make my first "three-dimensional" project fingerless gloves!I do have a question though. What size needles did you use? They look smaller than US 8s.
Very nice gloves!! 👌👌👌👌 I don 't know how to make these mittens with dpns🤔🤔 Please upload a video to use and cast on with dpns! Love from India 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼❤❤❤❤🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳
Im knew-ish to knitting and interested in starting a very odd project. I am a vet tech assistant and I'd like to make a little stethoscope cozy/cover to be able to tell it apart and customize it to make it my own. So I need to make a long skinny tube and I'm not sure how feasible this is. Any tips from anyone?
Thank You RJ Knits!! This Has Been Most Of My Problems Is To Do The Gusset,. I've Learned On Doing The Socks ,. But Not On Glove's,. Havent Master It Yet,.. Will Give It A Try...☺️👍😁🙃😊🧶 🧤 Happy Knitting...
