This is exactly why we have a cbt test in the uk which teaches the basics and allows up to a 125cc bike. The rebel 300 makes an excellent commuter bike and can easily sit at 70mph all day long without issues. Definitely a great beginner bike for shorter riders
We have the same in the US. Each state differs on the requirement. I took a 2 day state course on a 500 cc bike that they provided. I had to pass a riding skills and written test to get my license. Some people prefer to practice like this before they do the state courses though.
No a rebel 300 cannot “sit at 70 all day” much less in the uk with all the wind and rain, you are absolutely entirely wrong, and monkey branching engine sizes is a good idea if you are a millionaire with infinite time and resources , learn to ride the bike you want plenty of folks go straight to the cc they want , you don’t ride a 300 like you ride a 1000 , why split the time you have to practice ? It’s weird and dangerous ..
Add crash bars and sliders to beginner bikes. Peace of mind for the new rider and bike protection during bike drops. Also helps small rider pick a bike up off the ground when dropped.
So if any women are 4”10-4’11 there is hope for you to get on a bike that fits nice and ride! I just picked up a Johnny pag pro street race motorcycle and I fit pretty much flat footed on it and can hold it up with ease! I’m about 99 pounds soaking wet lol
I’m 5’8” and ride it just fine. My daughter is 5’6” and she’s been learning to ride on it. However it’s just the learning bike around here as we usually ride our cb500f’s.
Gotta remind her to use the brake, not her feet to slow the bike. Other than that, The saddle height looks like a nice fit. She needs pull-back risers on the handlebars, though. Those will go a long way to making riding comfortable and safe.
I want to get my girl into riding but I’m terrified for her. She also wants to try to learn. I was thinking about the Honda rebel 300, but honestly I think I’m going to get her a Navi, with no gears first. Let her just focus on driving, leaning properly, navigating and stuff like that, then upgrade her too, a grom or 300, depending how well she picks it all up. She’s admits she’s never been a big bicycle rider, so i think for her to be successful I need to build her confidence gradually. Awesome video, keep practicing and building confidence, and don’t push yourself past your limits, you got this.
Bro what how does that make any sense? That's like teaching someone to snowboard but replacing the snow with grass! lol if they're not capable of learning the gears then they shouldn't be driving a motorcycle!
@@ZeroHero1124 it makes perfect sense. And it’s how most people get into riding. They start off as kids on mo pedal, or 50-150cc dirt bikes. A full size bike is gonna weigh 450-1000lbs. If you have never rode before, I highly recommend that you learn the basics on something small and work your way up.
Don’t get her a Grom, get her a Suzuki Tu250x, it’s the bike I learned on and the bike that is used in a lot of courses for licensing cause it’s so basic and easy, can get up to 70mph on a light lunch, the grom is too small for a beginner rider who doesn’t know how to ride with cars on the road it’ll be very dangerous as they will not see them on it 5/10 times
@@bigboybobbousmcI'm 5ft woman and I just bought a Navi for the same reason you mentioned in your comment. Then I plan to move on to a grom to learn the gears. Honestly, I'm treating this experience like how I learned to drive a car. I started off in an automatic like most folks in the US and then I learned how to drive a manual. I also don't plan on going out on the streets any time soon until I take a basic riders course and truly feel comfortable. I understand what the others are saying about small bikes being unseen but bikes in general are hard to see if the driver has low awareness. Good luck and just do what you guys think is best ❤
I don’t know what the other person is telling you, because I have owned mine for over 5k miles and I’ll tell ya… the seats suck. Your legs will go numb about 3 hours into riding. The thin pads are for the extremely low seat height. I still have the stock ones because my regular commute is no more than 20 minutes…. But for anything more than a half hour long… I would highly recommend an aftermarket seat. This is not to say you will start hurting immediately sitting on it, but you will want more once you start riding a bit more.
Measure you peg inseam ladies! I’m 4’10-4’11 with a leg inseam of 26inchs and I didn’t fit on these bikes the nicest! This bike is suitable for people 5ft and over definitely not under especially if you have never been riding before! Your leg inseam matters when it comes to the seat height!
I had my for three years my first bike 🏍 I do feel sad for trading her in for a Harley Nightster 975cc I just hope I'm doing the right thing because the bike is much more powerful than my little Rebel 300cc.🤔😔
I would suggest going to a honda dealership and sittng on one. the seat height is 28 inches. You may be cramped with the position of the footpegs. You can probably find some aftermarket forward controls to get your legs some more room.
You probably won’t be able to touch with both feet, you will probably be right on your tippy toes! I’m 4’10 and I can only just tip toe it ! Anyone 5ft and up it fits like a glove! I just picked up a Johnny pag pro street race 300 and I fit flat footed on it! And can easily throw it around! Seating height is 20 inches and my leg inseam is 26inchs. Measure your leg inseam and it will give you a good idea of what would fit you nice.
It probably looks loose because her weight isn't enough to compress the suspension. Most people never have bikes set to their weight, especially light riders.
Gotta crawl before you walk! That how I started
yeah man same here LOL
Me, too. Only gets better from there.

This is good to know. Doing my course in June and I’m 5ft 1in too. 😊
Good luck!!
Did mine today , definitely a confidence builder ,
Same height! She gave me hope! I been looking at this same bike
Me too!
How tall are you. I’m short but I don’t know I’m taller than her
Never mind I’m 5’4 just saw the caption

Awesome, I’m 5 foot flat. And have to fire hydrant on my bikes. Love the Rebel, nice going and safe riding
The Flinstones would be proud
Damn, Beat me to it. I think she legitimately braked with her feet😳
I’m 4’10 and think I’m getting this one.
That's exactly how I'm learning on the same bike.

My daughter (22) wants a Rebel 500, I'm excited and worried!
That's amazing! I just turned 24 and started saving- not sure if I want a 300 or 500 since it'll primarily be a commuter for me
I strongly suggest the 500 as she quickly grew out of this. its great for short commutes but leisure riding it will be slow to keep up with friends.

You have to stare at that Tachometer like a hawk, don't want to over speed
Was the seating comfortable? I’m thinking on getting me one when I am old enough and have money hahaha
yes, it is, I just gave a deposit for mine, and I sat on one that they had in there already and it felt wonderful.

The old rebel 250 has a pretty comfortable seat, haven't tried the new rebels
Was anything done aftermarket to make the bike more accessible for her or is that totally stock?
no. the bike has a 28 inch seat hight. its very suitable for her.

Thank ypu for puttong her height. Im 5"1' as well.
Was looking to see how high the sear actually is!😊
I'm also 5'1" and sat on one in the Honda shop and had NO problem touching. =)

Manual or automatic?
That one is a manual. The automatic doesn't have a lever on the left side.

Get some kneepads and boots, and you’ll be set
Hope she’s not wearing leggings riding fr…
