Your videos helped me make up my mind. I ordered one, tried it, and ordered two more. Your casting demo was a hoot! Most people would get a hernia casting half that far. Your enthusiasm for the rods is contagious. Berry Pro should sponsor you!
I could only imagine setting this up with like a tsunami shield 4000 or 5k and 30 or 20lb braid would be killer with bucktail jigs for the spring or mid to late fall for stripers would be an amazing setup for up here in the north east.
Here in Dallas, the rod is VERY effective against Hybrids and large Sandbass. It's used to throw 7/8oz. to 1 1/4oz. Slabs when the "Sandies" and Hybrids are biting on that. 9 foot 6" is the "sweet spot" for this rod.
Would a 4000 or 5000 reel be better for this rod? Planning on using 15lb 8 strand braided line and the same rod as you, just unsure if the 4000 would be better suited or if the 5000 would be okay given the additional line capacity?
I would suggest the 5000 because of the line capacity. I've had both on. If you want a lighter setup that can handle the weights of a 2oz spoon or jig but don't need distance than the 4000 is fine.
I just scored a berrypro 11' surf rod. Honestly? Because its purple.😄 Like you, I couldnt find any reviews (other than amazon). Glad your guides came intact (amazon complaint) Looking forward to your opinion on how it fishes.
@@PeterLebhar No I don't have. even if I didn't wash it by fresh water after saltwater fishing. Blue green corrosion were present after a few months but I easily removed it everytime. I just simply wet it, or rub it by clean cloth. I'll double check it today after logging off from work (work from home) office hour then will share the link for you to check some pics. Thanks

Much appreciated! Glad I could help. I have reached out to Berry pro with no response unfortunately.
This rod casts better than many of the more expensive rods out there, and I have some very expensive ones.
This thing definitely cast a country mile?
Say what you will, the Chinese make good fishing rods.

I used it for hybrids and stripers on the Ohio River during the summer in the hydros! Perfect rod for my needs.

This is still the only Berrypro light surf fishing rod review. Or called the Striper Killer.
I'll have a few more reviews coming out soon!
Nice! Ima order one now😂

I personally like a 5000 size reel paired up with this rod.

I fished with it last night and I had zero complaints
We have the exact rod, been using it for 2 years now. Do you have a fishing video with it?
Do you have a problem with the guides rusting?

do you think a 3000 stradic would fit that rod? more specifically the 9' medium
Not really I have a Penn 5000 and it fit perfect
I currently have a 4000 on mine but that's because I'm using super thin 15lb braid so I can fit much more on the spool.
@@weirdbeardfishin ya i run 10lb braid
is this rod strong enough to lift a 10lb fish up on a jetty?
I wouldn't suggest that...
This bad boy good for 40lbs striper?
I'd say no go on fish that size.. this is good for fish under 25lb unless you don't mind a long fight!
