You always inspire me. I have to stop videos to go work on my projects, then while I'm waiting on something to dry, I watch the rest of the video. Your cards are great.
I really thought this was going to be cards I would not like. It was just something I didn't think I'd 'get'. But in the end they are amazingly beautiful. Or amazingly to me. I just didn't see how all that color and no direction was going to work. I should learn by now.... 'you got it covered'. Love them all. I hope to give it a try in the near future. Thanks Shel!
I make a lot of these types of backgrounds but never put a label to it ... now I know what it's called. Intuitive painting! Love what you did here. Looks like you had lots of fun!
Oh girl I am so thankful to find out what that Intuitive Paint tech. is. I've heard of it, I am even on a group for it, but I thought it was basically about health, etc., or lack there of. I do this all the time. Its my favorite way to create. Don't have a plan, just put down color and shapes and textures and tones, etc. My fav!!! I will definitely have to remember the sharp end of the cosmetic triangles. Love those little edge. I have a big cloth bag of just pieces parts of things for shapes and textures. Yep, your cards are gorg!! THis is my kind of art. Art to draw but just love to create.
Happy Mother's Day, my friend! I must do this intuitive painting, for I think I would love it, playing with all my paints and markers. I will make cards for my 2 daughters and my surrogate daughter, who all called me today to say, I love you. Your process and your finished cards have inspired me, and are so pretty, playful, and colorful, so thanks Schweetheart!
Concerning intuitive creations. As you know, I don't do art journaling. At least I don't do art journaling as I've seen on TH-cam. I started out making scrapbook pages and along the way I began making political statements on pages mostly using my own photographs, sometimes with photos I find online. The way in which this came about was I allowed that inner compulsion to guide my efforts. As far as art is concerned, I have no talent. My talent rests in words, in storytelling. The purpose for making scrapbook pages was to have a means by which I could tell the stories of my photographs. And, as I became comfortable in this process, it was not long before I noticed that my conscious thought processes were being taken over by another element. It was quite easy for me to listen to that impulse and let go of my plans in order to give control over to whatever was guiding me. By doing this, I developed a sense of confidence in what I was doing. My attempts to follow what I saw others on TH-cam doing were recognized as roadblocks to my own creativity. I guess this could be considered as letting the intuition have its way. Whatever the case, if I am lucky, when I sit down to create I will not be alone. There will be that voice helping me to explore other ways, new ways of telling my story. And, when I am through with a project, I am proud that what I have created is original and honest. Art should always be, if nothing else, honest.
I love these cards and especially the intuitive painting! The cards are gorgeous. I've been doing intuitive painting, but only with paint, now I can't wait to try this process. Tfs, hugs Fia
Wonderful process, intuitive art, I love it. I've seen it before, but never knew the definition, so thanks for that. The cards all came out beautifully. Amazing how you chose each card to go with the intended recipient. Very fun to watch, Jane
Intutive painting...a whole new technique to me and so very interesting! I'm not sure I could be so free. It REALLY made an interesting background for the cards! Each card is unique and amazingly beautiful. Thank you for my beautiful, butterfly Mother's Day card! Your matching gift bag is beautiful, too. Your final touch of adding glitter glue to the butterfly really was the perfect choice. I wish folks could see this card in real life. It's SO beautiful! 💕
Love these 'simple ' cards.... i'am totally on board with simple cards.... I have never tried this type of painting and i think i would be one of those people who would find it difficult to 'let go' ... but i would love to try it... thank you for reminding me of it... You never fail to remind me to enjoy myself... Hugs! deb
I've seen the phrase 'intuitive painting ' many times and never knew what it was. Ye, this would be difficult for me, but I believe I'm going to try it. This is just beautiful! Thanks for sharing AND for explaining!
Our brain is a funny thing, isn´t it. Stop thinking....if it would be that simple. But, yes, it`s a wonderful experience when you get into that state of forgetting everything around you and just feeling the paint on your fingers. Beautiful backgrounds made into even more beautiful cards.
Wow! Those are really beautiful! It's kind of therapeutic to do this as you said. My biggest problem are the doddles at the end. For some reason mine always look forced. I'll have to practice being free. Lol thanks. Diane
+Diane Bumback Thank you Diane 😊 I am not how easy it is to practice being free lol. Just try making you mind empty of self criticism and know that whatever comes is ok! 😊
Wow, what beautiful technique. I can see where this would be very difficult for some to achieve. I'm going to try to allow my self the freedom to try something like this. I've a friend with a birthday coming up who happens to be a pretty amazing artist. I regularly make cards for friends and family, but have never tried anything quite like this. I think my artist friend would truly appreciate something such as this. Thank you for sharing it.
Thank you Beth :) Yes, it is tricky for some people to let go of perfection and planning and just be free...but well worth the trying! Have fun with your card making :)
They are beautiful! I love to make these backgrounds too because it's so relaxing. The exiting part for me is to cut it up, it's amazing how they change into beautiful cards. I love how you decorated them, wonderful....thanks Shel!
