- I'm a big fan of Fairline, so when Fairline Southampton dealer Bates Wharf offered to let me video this Squadron 53, I jumped at the chance.

The "David Attenborough" of boating. Very pleasant to listen to.
I really enjoy seeing these 40-50 ft yachts. They are more realistic to own. Big ones are of course also beautiful :)
And they are also not small
It's the idea of total independence, no need for a crew, that appeals to me. It's a very different type of yachting to being essentially a passenger on a superyacht
Right! This seems an ideally sized owner-operated boat w/all the necessaries.
@@visionist7 Not really, some people do a few years with crew, then once they learn all there is to learn, they usually dismiss the crew, unless ur on a 50m+ super super yacht. Still a dream for me lol

You really see the scale of these boats when its parked next to a car, great tour!

I'm impressed with that tractor. Usually I'm stuck behind one going 10 mph. That one was speeding like he was late for dinner :)
The *BEST* boat tour guide ever. Provides extensive details in almost every object, location, design, and more about the boats he shows. I hope you could have a tour on some of the most expensive Yacht out there soon. Even if it's 1 hour long, since most multi-billion dollar superyachts are massive, it would still be well worth the knowledge you'll provide.

53 foot wow they have packed it with some gorgeous details I'm a big fan of the use of alternating materials, design, stitching awesome interior. Amazing external features forward cockpits fold down table can just imagine the unobstructed view of the A27 and your guests faces as your cruising along.

I love the attention of detail on this boat and love the little touches of light on the steps and on the bottom of the fly bridge .
I'll agree - ONLY 53 feet ! Some very clever layout tricks. Definitely a potential live aboard or extended vacation boat. Three cabins AND that huge galley. Face it, someone is alway sequestered in the galley - at least this is a nice one - voice of experience. And the tractor was a treat, not many of those make it out to sea anymore.

Love, love, love the Fairline! As a cook, I want to see every cabinet opened in the galley! And those openings on the floor in the galley, missed seeing those opened. Nick, your videos are so inviting, I want to sell everything and live on a boat!

Very interesting nice layout for small yacht. Once you were in the cockpit area and certainly below deck there was no sounds of road traffic. A rather marvellous testament to heir use of insulation. Great video.

That Master cabin was amazing. I noticed it was extremely quiet compared to the other cabins. Even with the door open it was really quiet but with the door closed wow!
I must admit i've cheated on you. Watched another boat channel for 10 minutes. Was so disappointed though, not doing that kinda stuff again.

Boat Test with "Captain Steve" is a great channel and is a great companion piece to see the same boats from his perspective. He has his own very easy going style. Great complement to each other. AQH does superyacht tours too, Steve only does "real people" boats.
Best owners cabin for space I’ve seen on a boat that size, bar none. Fantastic.
I hear what you’re saying about the cockpit area seamlessly melding into the saloon, but for me I’d prefer the furniture to be distinctly different - the leather furniture in the saloon looks like it belongs outside and, for me, detracts from the feel of the indoor area.
Love love love those light inserts in the steps up to the fly bridge.

You could certainly opt for a different colour and material for the interior to help differentiate the areas, and you'd still get that great flow.

It's basically the same layout as a 75 but everything is a bit more modest. Except for that huge galley

Nice boat. Wasn't so sure though, about the loo in the master en suite. It was under a bench top which was part of the vanity. My wife has an aversion to empty flat services so with her around, you'd have to clear everything off before using the loo. On the other hand, I suppose I could just leave her at home. :)
I'm in complete agreement with you on Fairline boats - the extra styling/detailing definitely adds appeal.
Great work Nick , wow that's a hell of a lot of boat for £1.7m , the design is excellent and the finishing and detail is fantastic. Another fantastic vessel , It keeps getting better , Sunseeker , Princess now Fairline , good to know we can still produce quality engineering in this country.

I actually prefer galley down on these size boats as it look squashed in the saloon otherwise. I would like it if you started doing what the range is, don't think it gets mentioned on your videos. Thanks for the video keep them coming

The attention to detail on this boat is amazing! It must look especially awesome at night with all that lighting. I have to figure out how to get a few million to buy and maintain one, lol! But for now I will just continue to enjoy your tours :)

Love this boat. My kind of "galley below" layout. NOT that I have much of a choice, but if I had a choice it would be like this. Lovely rig.
A perfect ship for a small family,or a few friends, to sail that'De-Grasso-Sea".I digress and laughingly apologize.I do like that ship very much.It looks like a great 'Port live-aboard',and weeks long journey craft.Thank you again,Nick.That is what I'm thinking of,and wishing towards.

Lovely boat, I had my mind set on the Princess 49 Fly and now you gone and done this. The only way this boat can get better is if the paperwork was in my name. Not been a fan of high gloss walnut but this boat carries it very well. It must be the Bridge Road mooring location that does it :) Another great presentation Nick, many thanks.

I love your yacht tours, all the details you show is the best. Particularly like that you show the areas most vids don’t like the crew areas, storage, lighting, engineering space and clear basis stats. Always interesting and real commentary. Well done 👍

He didn't show the crew area on this one though. Maybe it didn't have one or maybe he just didn't have access.
All I know is the crew areas are always my favorite part of the tour.
Over all though, I love these videos. Thanks, and thank you for showing off the entire boat on your tours, not just the regular "fancy" parts.
It has a small crew area at the rear beneath the cockpit seating. Possibly Nick didn’t have access on the day.

Wow. This is arguably a perfect setup for what I’m looking for. Gallery layout is a tough choice though. Probably something to see in person to decide.
M5 I would be careful buying a fairline nowadays. Personally I will never buy one again. The princess F55 is actually cheaper and in my opinion a much better looking and quality boat!

Okay, this must be for sure the best yacht for it's size. It's incredible! Only things it needs is one more roof on top deck, to protect from rain or sun.
I’m usually not a big fan of galley down, but it works really well on this boat. That’s a lot of boat for 53’. I would just want some kind of roof on the fly bridge.
I would probably like to have a two cabin layout with a dining area down, in my family people like to gather in, and around the kitchen.
The big galley window definitely helps
Surely if you want a roof on the flybridge you dont actually want a flybridge, a flybridge with a roof is basically the inside helm. Maybe they'll fit you a periscope for the advantageous view you get from on the roof

This has been my favourite, just right size and masses of seating for relaxing on with friends.
I would just mention that you seem to have a head for heights, normally you would maybe get wet but that was decidedly dangerous.

I know the aft galley is very popular but I have to say I quite like that lay out without it.Having said that

Really nice boat and loive the deck planning. 3 very nice cabins on a 53 foot boat is not bad at all. If they fit a volvo penta IPS they would still gain a couple extra feet of cabin space
