Alicent has also been used since a child, she is an hypocrite yes, but her baiting her fingers off as a kid shows her stress growing up. GRRM rarely write pure evil people, they are more complex and human, there are some exceptions though.

I thought it was ironic that now Alicent was frustrated that the council wouldn’t name her regent, when that’s exactly what happened to Rhaenyra when aegon usurped her throne. I love seeing Alicent get karma for her past actions, even if Otto manipulated her.

Rhaenyra only lied a few times, but this makes Alicent so bitter to the point she tells her sons that Rhaenyra will try to kill them to stabilize her claim, which is frankly delusional, and deserves some comeuppance at least.

I didn’t interpret Sunfyre being “long in the dying” as dead but rather, close to death, actively dying. It makes sense that they think he won’t survive, but it doesn’t mean they’re right.

My personal favorite small moment of this episode was Larys pushing Cristin to speak up against Alicent in the council meeting- to further cause tension between them. I laughed out loud because that man is definition of messy and petty.
Alicent was being super annoying in that scene. All she says is why am I not in power? I should be in power. Is it because I'm a woman? How dare you not put me in power. The showrunners really fumbled the ball as his campaign in the riverlands solidified his military prowess. They diminished on of the more intriguing characters for 50/50 storytelling.
Hell the fact that he just wanted his brother to rely on him & Corlys in season 1, instead of sucking up praise from parasites like Otto.
Was a critical point for his character as he literally self exiled himself from it all.

The family had three children who loved him very much. They washed him up and he spent the rest of his life eating meat scraps from the table and fresh milk from the cows and he was happy.

Aegon is one of the biggest victims in the dance. People comparing him to Joffrey is crazy to me. The added scene of him trying to run away before being crowned was pretty clear, he didn't want any of this shit, he is used, tortured, burned, his unique dragon is forced to fight a bigger one and suffers horrible, his sons are killed, he has to live on milk of the puppy for the constant pains just to be poisoned at the end after losing everything.

Dragons were the biggest war weapon. Easiest way to humanize something is to show it’s killable. It’s amazing Cole overlooked this concept and paraded that head through town.

That was not Cole's misjudgment in my opinion, people has seen or hear of dragons dying before, they saw balerion and meraxes skulls and knew about Aegon the uncrown. The reason smallfolk didn't care or take it as a bad omen was because they are starving. Is pretty common for people not to cheer when you oppress them and spend a ridiculous amount of money on irrelevant things, like a pointless war, just to parade in from of them.
Alyssa died when Daemon was three years old, so whilst he has memories of her, he never got to know her properly.
I believe the screams were heard of her giving birth to her son Aegon, which is how she supposedly died (although many believe she was poisoned by the Masetors).
At 3, you really don't have any memories. He has no meaningful memory of her.
@@charlenek11 - Mahaps for some, I find it pretty preposterous to think most people don't remember being three years old though. Like, surely he'd remember his own mother's face? I remember the face of my nursery workers who looked after me when I was 3 years old and I've not seen them since I was 3 years old.
I have extremely vivid memories of my second birthday, it's burned into my brain very strongly. Things like the faces of dead relatives who I didn't see photographs of until 20 years later, and over hearing conversations that I couldn't put any context to at the time. Strange that I remember my infancy very clearly but can't remember what I had for breakfast this morning! haha
Sunfyre most likely isn’t dead. Daemon needs to wrap up his side quest and it’s time for Ser Crispy to die. He put a battery in Aemonds back and Alicent ignored it all.

He will make good in the end. His arch is so obvious. That's why his storyline is kind of getting boring..we all know where this is headed.
If he was loyal to Rhaenyra, the battle and the series would end faster...There's a reason Daemon is away..
I love the execution of small folk council talking about women i also love mysaria being council to the queen she know more about King landing than anyone else at dragon stone.
Alicent sitting there and feeling utterly powerless at the council table was such an underrated scene.
When she sat across Rhaenyra being ignored while she was being catered to, she relished it.
Now watching the feeling of being a woman not taken seriously and treated unfairly sinking into her was a huge payoff.
I can't wait for the dragonseeds next week

I wouldn’t take the stuff characters ASSUME as given facts… so when Cole assumes Sunfyre‘s death, I wouldn‘t trust that! It mirrors how critical is the situation of Aegon, but they are both tough and hard to kill, rider and dragon
This Daemon story is so trippy. Scenes jumping around , obvious dreams also him drinking something snd appearing in another area. Something else must be happening. It can’t just be him staying here dreaming weird ish…right? Right?😂
"Long in the dying" - I think he was just saying Sunfyre was close to death so they let it behind - I don't think it means the dragon is fully dead

@@Sentry961 Not really for the most part they are loyal in the beginning, and the Blacks start to gain major headway in this war. But then as the Black's pushes the Greens back SOME of the seeds flip, however that's only after a major event. And I don't think we will see that event yet, they might save it for season 3 maybe.
I wonder if Sunfyer is really dead or they just left him for dead. I think the original story is that they couldn't transport him and he just ate corpses until they started to feed him so maybe they will find sunfyer crawling around eating crispy people and realize he is not dead?
Criston said that Sunfyre seemed to be well on the way to dying, but that means he’s alive, for now, anyway.
A lot of people currently seem to *think* Sunfyre is dead (or dying)...but that doesn't mean they're right.

I disagree with the confirmation of Sunfyre’s death. I think since he LOOKED like he was slowly dying, and unable to be moved, they just assumed he was going to die and left him behind.
I think he might end up healing and coming back Royal Rumble style.

im pretty sure “long in the dying” means that sunfyre is struggling to stay alive and is in pain and suffering but continues to live on, not certain but thats the interpretation my brain got from him saying that.
In the last episode, before Rhaenys volunteered for Rook’s Rest, Broome did try to tell Rhaenyra that it could be a trap. It was good to see them establish mutual respect by the end of this episode.
When the Small Folk were outraged at Sir Bag’oDicktips Cole, marching a great Dragon’s head through the square, like he won, I felt such rage, I swear I hate that guy so much!!! But thank you Charlie, couldn’t wait for the breakdown!

One thing you’re incorrect on here is the Sunfyre reaction. Cole says “Sunfyre was long in the dying and had to be left at Rook’s Rest to recover”. So Sunfyre isn’t dead, Cole is just saying he nearly died and needed to remain at Rook’s Rest to recover under the care of those left behind, as mentioned in the books. 🤔

He did not say "and had to be left in Rooks rest to recover." I think Sunfyre is alive too, but he didn't say that in the show about recovering.
“Sunfyre was long in the dying” doesn't mean he’s dead. He was breathing last they showed.
Or you know Cole could be lying about Sunfyre just like everything else. That would make the reveal later in the timeline even more shocking
