I switched from iPhone 14 to the Fold 5 - it’s a completely different mobile experience, and I’m enjoying it. Not to mention it looks futuristic and I get so many compliments.
Z Fold is the best phone in the World right now until they stop milking the design and the Sliding Phone comes out. iPhones are ok but for the average Sheep public, you can sell anything to even a new no different iPhone

I Switched from the 13 pro to the Z5 as I like to call it and it really is...Galactical feeling!
I'm dual rocking and I still like the iPhone for simplicity and it feels less fragile but the fold 5 is just so useful and practical as a single device.
I went from iphone 12 😂, never looked back.
I like both ecosystems, but my current workflow fits the Fold 5 better. I use Samsung Dex constantly with Teamviewer and don't need to carry around a laptop anymore. Technology is great! Plus, playing and watching content on the bigger screen is very nice.
For me there's no comparison. I left Apple 3 years because all they're phones are practically the same. Samsung is world's ahead. Love the fold phones. Good review 😊

1st of all, great video. I use the Fold 4 and a Samsung Watch 4. I also have an iPhone 12 pro max and an Apple watch. I honestly hardly use my iPhone. I get that ppl love the ecosystem, but Samsung has its own as well. I think I heard you mention that nothing compares to Airdrop, but Samsung has its own airdrop and those additional features you mentioned toward the end are available on Samsung too. I have ny phone down to where it's comparable to my iPhone in every way except being able to imessage ppl. One last thing that I noticed NO ONE talks about is RCS messaging, which allows you to use an android like imessage; the only thing i can't do is play games. With Google Messages, I can respond to individual messages, present reactions, label ny chats with titles, share media at original quality, and view videos within the chat without having to switch to something like TH-cam. Ppl really gotta play with their android devices the SAME way they would their iphone, if they did they pound learn ALOT.

Awesome video as always. That’s why for me I have multiple things for my workflow and googles apps and iCloud allows me to access my stuff from all my devices. But per se if you had a pc desktop and a tabs9 ultra and galaxy watch, buds your “ ecosystem “ would flow very similar and Samsung works with pc natively. I rock the s23 ultra and now daily driving my iPhone 15pm. Now with usb c all my devices sing in harmony. The only thing I have separate is their respective watches as they really work best with there paired home devices. But it’s nice to have both and use which one when I want.

In my case i had 14 pro max and i switched to fold 5 a month ago...i love my Fold and photos are incredible too... I only miss the face id.
( i dont use other apple products, so i dont miss the ecosystem, but it is true what u say)

@@senorr2387 i know, and i use it too, but it is 2D, half of the times it doesn't work well, it works so bad in low light conditions, and the most important thing for me, is that many apps doesn't recognize it as secure method, so it isn't offered to access the app. For example banks apps, they only work with fingerprints. So resuming, it os far away worst, I love my Fold but the face id has no comparisson
It has face ID and Fingerprints.
You never have to enter in a password ever, just use the Fingerprint.
And if you had any Bluetooth devices ( i.e watch, headphones etc.) You can register it as a known devices and as long as you have the earphone on and near your phone its unlocked.
@@ronhali3164 im not stupid. I know very well all the stuff i have in my fold 5. But i can assure you, that using the fingerprints has no comparisson with the face id of iOs. You gain lot of time when opening banks apps, or doing payments (things i often use). By the other way, i preffer the Fold in all the other aspects

I'm switching from iPhone SE 3rd gen, and S22 Ultra. I totally get what you mean about getting into the ecosystem. That's why i still can't only have android or only iPhone. But i managed to do all those things like air drop on the S22 ultra and since i've synced OneDrive and iCloud on one machine, i can now leave one phone at home and always have the latest data with me. Only thing i don't like is Siri and Apple Watch, due to lack of supported banks on the watch, and a very weak battery compared to the Fitbit or even Galaxy Watch 5. I wish i could merge all the things i like the most from each ecosystems into one device, but for now i'm using both.
The iPhone is a great phone, but once you go to samsung Fold, it's almost impossible to go back to a regular size phone, The Z Folds completely changed my joy for business or pleasure, me personally I'm loving every feature of it. 😀👍🏼

I have been using the fold 5 and i love it but the camera is horrible for anything that isnt up close! I have been contemplating going to iphone or back to the s23 ultra.
Bro I had the same issue in the beginning, once you go into the photo editor it makes everything amazing. The stock camera photos are way too bright and oversharpened.
I wonder how often are you using the inner big screen of the fold? I have used the fold 5 for a bit but majority of the time I am using the narrow screen
Much less than I thought I would for day to day stuff but it’s nice to have it for content and browsing.
I used to find I used the internal screen when sat down and the external while walking about

I use both and am enjoying it so far. Basically, I use my fold 5 for media consumption and multitasking whenever I need to do some serious work , as for my iphone 15 pro max, I use it as a normal on-the go phone for every other things just like a tool in my pocket. My iphone is always there for every day mobile phone usage. I am not tied to any ecosystem, therefore, I use Sony Wf1000xm5 for both device and the transitions has been pretty remarkable.🎉

I think if your not in the apple eco system the answer is clear, especially if you consume content more than take pictures. So you know you can change the key board to be bigger on the from or turn it to landscape. On the main screen you can change the keyboard to one hand mode
I got both of them both of the ecosystem I'm becoming a fan of my zfold5 I don't use my phones or tablets for work but having a phone/tablet on my zf5 it's the perfect phone for me and honestly iphone it's getting boring for me! The folding phones feels like the future for me and I'm loving it.

Fold 3 now fold 5...went back to apple and missed the display too much...I switched all my stuff to Google ecosystem system and have no issues...still communicate with Apple folks and devices....people will always have their own preference
Also you know quickshare is the replacement for air drop and the samsung can copy and paste from s23 ultra to tablet and samsung computer ? I used those features weekly , im just emphasizing Samsung is superior trust me
I understand that the apple ecosystem is a big deal, but if you try to put that on the side for a bit, what phone is your preferred first pick when leaving the home for the everyday life? I'm using a fold 3 and I had it in a case for over a year, but now when I am about to switch phone shortly I use it caseless and love it. I'm on the fence between choosing a iPhone 15 pro (not max), flip 5 or fold 5. Last I used iPhone I had an iPhone 11 pro. It was "boring" (lacking customization) but it was such a good and reliable phone. The fold with its special aspect ratio can sometime make the experience feel a bit unpolished, though samsung is still great when pushing the folding software forward compared to the competition.
I have the pro max 15 and really like it.

I recently switched to the Fold 5 from iPhone, and honestly, I have been enjoying the Android experience very much. But I still don't like Android Auto. 😬 Like, I really don't like it. 😅 I don't hate it enough to switch back, but if I miss anything from having an iPhone it's honestly not having the ability to make every App full screen in my car like I was able to with Apple Car Play. i only use 2 apps on android auto, Waze and TH-cam Music lol , i dont care about anything else although i do receive WhatsApp and text messages sometimes

Do you see the Fold 5 have the ability to replace the iPad mini if you were in the Android echo system? Does it have the capability to do what the mini does overall? Could it be considered two devices in one? It might be a better alternative if I did not have to have two expensive devices vs buying just one device which does both. I do love my 15 pro max. The camera is amazing. Especially taking pictures in low light. It is incredible how clear and bright the pictures are at dusk on the pro max. Thanks for the video.

I lean the other direction. I have an iPad Mini 6 and the iPhone 14. I have different use cases for each and I can stay in the Apple ecosystem.
I have a fold and an iPad mini and I rarely use the mini. I really only use it out of guilt lol. It's convenient because I don't have to travel with multiple devices. I can take notes at work, watch content when I'm out and about, and use Dex when I need it, so for me, it's worth ditching the iPhone and the iPad for one device.

I have the S23 Ultra but next year I'm going to jump to the Z Fold 6. I really hope they make the cover screen wider.
I recently switched for S23U to Fold 5 and i must say im excited and happy - the only 2 minuses are the baterry life and the camera, in both departmants the fold 5 is like -20% compared to the ultra.
I agree. Make the cover screen wider like a normal phone, give it a s24 Ultra camera, and it'll be game over!!!
I honestly prefer the smaller outer screen. I find the pro max uncomfortable to use 1 handed.

Well with the deal of a free watch 6 and discounted Samsung care for two years and 512 free upgrade I pulled the trigger on the fold 5 though haven’t got it yet. Though I still have the iPhone 15pm coming in November! I can only really afford one. iPhones are great but they are so samey. The ecosystem is no big deal I am sure there are alternatives, I love apple but when you get a new iPhone it just feels like ur old one. If I am wrong then I will go back to iPhone but you just need to try new things and I want to be more productive and organised. I mean look at the Apple notes app how basic is that , no multitasking, the reminders app, and we all get excited over a button on the side!! Marketing over imagination.
Im going to get the new fold 6 switching from my iphone 14 pro max. I usually switch every so often I got so use to the iphones I have been using it after I broke my galaxy s8 its been pretty long since ive used anything other then the iphone so I think its time to switch it up for a couple years.
@patrick The fold can play games via Dex and should work wirelessly connecting to smart tv's also if I recall correctly. It also lets controllers connect via Bluetooth as well as a mouse and keyboard. As for triple A games both have the ability to play XBOX Cloud Gaming App and GamePass. I'm sure android has other companies putting their games on there too since they are very open to change and upgrades in comparison. Also comparing the Fold to the 15 Max pro isn't fair because its not a gaming phone. Its a multitasking more work type phone. The s23 ultra is the gaming version phone basically but isn't listed that way. As for Apple Computers they were great for graphics back in the old days but they aren't ahead like that anymore for the $$$. The Apple eco system should really be called the You just wasted extra money you didn't need to eco scammer system.

I have a friend and a colleague who have or had Samsung flip device. Both of them said the same thing...the flip fits better in girls trouser pockets compared to a fold or an iPhone (except the mini of course 😂)
8:07 the Samsung should be better for gaming or at least ask 23 ultra is. The iPhone 15 promax as a weaker GPU performance compared to Samsung and do do the performance issues they've had with iphone15 they're going to down clock the chip...!!!
IV been looking at getting this to replace my iPhone I use for work. I currently have a nothing phone 2 as my daily and I love it. I wish all apps where on both as I still need my iPhone for the notability app to draw my plans. Upgraded my old iPad to a Samsung S9 ultra so hopefully I find a way to completely get out of apple

The Samsung Galaxy Fold 5 haven't MUCH solve the question if you need that feature, it answer what you want feature. it just solve how you can compact the Tablet device. But other side, you didn't need it, just want it.

Great video, funny enough for me my macbook finds my fold 5 network faster and my airpods sync better than they did with my iPhone.

The internal speakers are great on fold. But the front are horrible.
I've owned every version of iPhone from the first to the 13 pro max. Decided to shake things up for the same reason. 0 regets or desire to back to apple. I do miss a few swipe gestures and the notification organization, but that's about all
You can enable swipe gestures in Android settings. As a matter of fact, because Android allows left, middle and right gestures, I find myself getting frustrated when I use my iPhone Max. I'm constantly swiping out of the app I'm in, when I only want to go back to the previous page.
@ShaunaMorgan haha yeah I just don't feel like they're as smooth as apples. A lot of time when I'm trying to swipe up to open my phone it thinks I'm trying to open my wallet. The only one that drives me crazy is swiping down to go into one handed mode. I prefer apples way of bringing the top half of the screen down then swiping up to go back to normal. I will sit there swiping down over and over until it finally realizes I'm trying to get the screen back to normal on the fold. I also miss how swiping up on the home screen of iphones quickly brings you to the finder w the keyboard already out. I think apple lets you swipe to go forward too and you can only go back on android. All pretty minor stuff. I still prefer the fold by a long shot! Also not organizing notifications by recently received is mind blowingly confusing to me. It's odd that you can customize so much, but they don't let you change that setting

I ditched the iphone back when the iphone 7 came out and never looked back since. Had the fold 5 for a month now and is the best phone ive ever had. Makes it real easy to reply to emails and edit anything.

The fact that iPhone chips are becoming more gamer friendly means gamers will soon have one kore option, AMD, Intel, or Apple M series. and The usbc on iPhone and developers creating a dex for the iPhone means Samsung will soon only have S-pen, customization,OS, and AI as what makes them different.
I switch from the iPhone 12 promax to the fold 5 I got the watch the pen Trying to get into their equal system and I love this phone but I miss Facetime The operating system the look of the iPhone I am considering Returning the fold. My previous Phone before the 12 promax was the fold 2 I just can't decide Because of the Wait for the iphone😅😆
have a real love/hate relationship with apple lately..
things "just working" across devices is a big bonus, but some things are just unable to be done (easily) and they are very annoying.
currently debating going from apple laptops, phone, tablet to linux laptop, android folding phone... lots of 4 investing in either direction...

The fold is truly nice. I am running the beta software at this time with it. What I can say is that it feels very futuristic like I can unfold it to use the bigger screen whenever I want to watch content on it, or simply use the flex mode on it so I can view the screen when I’m eating or maybe when I’m laying down. As for the keyboard when using it while folded, it needs some time to getting use to. When I have bad service at work, I usually place it near the window to take advantage of the hotspot so my iPhone can use WiFi, or vice versa, definitely helpful having two phones at the same time.
There is no doubt iPhone and their eco system is great. But aren't we pick a phone that should satisfy our needs and not just to show that you have an iPhone? I had fold 2 and now owing a fold 5, which is an amazing device. Folding, water/splash proof, spen and the UI 6.0 is also looking just great.
You can say anything, but until your iPhone can fold, it can't be a competition.
Apple car play is better? Whatever, that's not my experience. Google has a massive edge over Apple when it comes to navigation, which is what cars need. My wife's puny iphone compares poorly to my Z Fold 5 in our newest car. But I'm a Samsung Galaxy guy, and their ecosystem is every bit as robust as Apple's. If you do Windows and Galaxy, then Apple is a misfit toy. But it's the same in reverse. If you are happy with the fruit phone ecosystem, then Samsung is a poor choice. I'm just glad they are both contending, it's the only thing that spurs them both to get better. Great, solid review! The best thing that ever happened to Samsung is Apple and vice versa. I enjoy reviews that get that, like yours.
Dont have a 15 pro max, but i do have a 14 pro max that i just got as my work phone a few months back. Man idk. I keep trying to give iOS a chance evey few years, but i just cant do it. I dont know what it is about them that i find so bland.
On the other hand for my personal line i just ordered a Z Fold 5 (upgrading from an S22 Ultra) that I should be getting tomorrow. =) Super stoked.

The Fold 5 doesn't have the Overheating issues the iPhone 15 Pro/Max and Samsung isn't throttling their phones due to this.

Did you really say there there is nothing like airdrop, copying text on one device and paste it on another one, seamless switching between devices, operating all devices with the same mouse and keyboard, and more? I am just wondering how I can do all of that between my Fold5, TabS8 Ultra and my Samsung Galaxy Book2 Pro 360. The Multi control of Samsung includes even phones (e.g.vFold5) something Apple's Universal control can't do yet. And you have in addition Link to Windows and DeX for Windows, and Samsung Flow, just in case you don't like the other options. Please, just don't say "there isn't anything that ..." if you don't know it. You can't see the alternatives if you don't open your eyes.
Edit: Multi-control works even if you hooked any 3rd party blootooth mouse and keyboard to your Fold 5. It is actually the only true "Universal control".
I work in IT and I always have to send files, links and pictures to my Windows work computer. Luckily I have a Samsung Fold that allows me to wirelessly send them, as the only option I have on my iPhone is to email them, or upload them to iCloud, log into iCloud on my PC and then download them. The only reason the Fold can't wirelessly send files to his Macbook is because Apple doesn't allow it and iPhone zealots need to be honest, they like it that way because it makes them feel "superior." They're Green Bubble "Snootie Booties," lol. Can't believe that's actually a thing.
Patrick. Your last comments in the video about finding it difficult to move away from the iPhone and that everything just works, left me thinking: [ isn't that the reason Apple created an ecosystem? They ensure that those who use the system are hooked and remain; Or else, bear the consequences of leaving the system or trying to incorporate other systems. By that I mean bear a financial cost, bear a psychological cost, and bear the feeling of isolation and emptiness.
There're many users who cannot leave the ecosystem. What you're experiencing was done by design. In the midst of rapid technological growths and global interconnectivity, ONE COMPANY decided not to integrate; deliberately designed its systems not to interact seamlessly with other systems and forced a "DETATED EXPERIENCE" on its consumers. A classic example of the Metrics - it makes it difficult for you to get out of your own head to explore other possibilities; but, only with the mindset that this must be the only best way.
Planning to buy z fold 5 but many users are complaining the screen issues after some months. can some real users suggest
Zero issues. I have had every model of the series 1-2-3-4 and now 5 and NEVER had an issue with the screens or anything else. In MY opinion it's how you treat the phone and which environments you use it in. Just my 2©🤙
I switched from iphone 14pro max to Fold5 cause the trade in value at Apple was 600 and Samsung was 1200(For foldables) I was super sensitive about the inner fold display but now I over came my fear cause Samsung made the fold 5 25% stronger and 1 year free display change.
Oh man, you gave me some ease, I ordered a Fold 5, didn't arrive yet but I was really unsure about the decision, the whole folding display and all. Good to know that it is more durable than the older versions

@@DVinstapics I'm assuming you got the insurance with it? Foldables are definitely more prone to issues, but plenty of people have had their fold 3 for years now with no issues or issues only now cropping up. That's not to say there might not be issues earlier, as some do experience, but I believe that since the fold 3 things have been quite a bit more durable than what the public tends to believe. The only situation you might want to be careful is if you do a SUPER dust-heavy job. If you work any kind of dusty job, the fold might be the wrong move.
I have both and can't let go of one yet, Time will tell.

As always awesome video Patrick. I love love my Fold 5, however likewise, my workflow and daily is easier using the iphone. I am still using the fold 5 at the moment, however the Samsung watch 5 pro is no match for the Apple Watch ultra… not even close.

I do hope samsung improves the caneras, but for now, i can live with it. Apple has the best video cameras and s23 ultra and apple. Both do slightly better in different areas when compared to each other, but both are better than my fold.
The slim s-pen case makes the phone more bulky?🤔🤔🤨🤨...That's not true, and you know it... try the Samsung ecosystem with tablet/laptop.
I'm not interested in PCs. I built a gaming PC but I don't want to work on it. And of course the s pen case makes the phone bukier, that's just physics.
For me it’s too difficult to live in both worlds. My computer is Apple, my wife’s computer and phone are Apple. It’s too difficult to jam Android into the middle of that since we don’t use Google apps.
That said, if Apple made a phone akin to the Fold 5 I’d be in there like a robber’s dog.
We don’t use Siri except for hands free dialling in the car and we have zero connected switches etc in the house.
Well I don't own a Samsung galaxy zfold but I do own a Samsung galaxy s23 ultra as my main and I got an old iPhone x as an iPod basically I will eventually upgrade that iPhone to have the best of both simple
Sorry iphone helluva eco system but samsung has one too and it works good. I have the fold 5 1tb and its my multitasking super handheld. I got tired of the same design factor with iphone. You can literally face down the 12/13/14 and 15 pro max with the same color and you cant tell which is which. Also the simple fact that almost everyone u run into has the same phone.. i like different. I bring my phone out and i get all different looks from people. And then the questions lol. The fold is def the eye catcher. And as far as the case. I actual uses the clear acrylic slim case, but as an addon protection i used the the clear body shield protection vinyl first then the case on top to protect the phone from case markings. Amazon. And yes the vinyl proctects the hinge also.
7:20 I don't think that's true with Android you can do pretty much everything so much that you can download emulators and play PS1, PS2, Nintendo switch games and many other consoles and I saw a chinese TH-cam channel play windows games natively on phone with termux using wine and some other things and Rog Phone 8 Pro could play Devil May Cry 5 on 1600x720 with 50-60 FPS
Just prior to the iPhone 15 release, I trialled the fold 5 for 1 months.
I found that while a ‘folding phone’ design is far superior to a slab style phone, the current folding phones just aren’t there yet. Additionally, we need to consider that any comparisons against iPhone and Samsung is going to be more than just a comparison on form factor but also the operating system.
Ultimately, the Apple ecosystem is too good. If Apple were to make a folding phone option which essentially allows users to have a larger screen at will without any compromises of the front screen size and overall size of the phone, then it would be a game changer. I’m sticking to Apple for now, but if anything comes close to utopia in terms of design, I would be the Honor V2.
Man idk. I just switched from the 13 to the fold 5 and I wouldn't go back. Android eco system is just as smooth as ios imo. What about the ecosystem has you stuck?
@@imn0tgarbage Exactly. I have an iPhone and a Fold, and my Fold not only works with all my smart home devices, but my Windows PC and Chromebook. I think the Apple ecosystem is very good, IF you only have Apple devices... But I wouldn't trade my Asus Pro Duo for 10 Macbook pros, lol and I can send files and links, get my phone notifications and text family and friends on that, just as well as the Apple ecosystem.
The Apple ecosystem is carefully curated to get people in and imprison them there, imho. My XReal AR glasses just worked straight out the box with my Fold. I had to buy a specialized adapter for it to work with my iPhone. With Apple I feel like there's always some catch, something extra you have to buy to get it to do what YOU want it to do. With Samsung, more specifically Android, you are only limited by your own imagination.
@ShaunaMorgan and I can charge any device with my Samsung. My wife has iPhone, charger broke, and she wirelessly charged her phone up on the back of my phone.
Apple is just a marketing genius, branding genius. Once you have the iPhone ppl look at you differently, even through the fold is like $600-$700 more.
One thing that frustrates me, is apple has this amazing potential, but they just won't put all their tech in one phone, naw the pace it out over several years and several phone the milk the helm out their customers. There isn't one upgrade that been released on iPhone that hasn't already came out on Android and for cheaper.
And they make their loyal, very loyal fans settle for old tech with better branding but no customization. Had my S21 at the same time my wife got her apple 12 , and as soon as the 15 got released her phone slowed and her battery with last all day only last half now 🧤🥼
And the thing that pisses me about Samsung is no marketing or branding know how they will just drop a phone with zero hype 🤣.

I own both phones and they Both are Amazing for the Consumers they were intended for. 2 Beast of phones.
I'm not sure why people don't know that Samsung has something like FaceID. It has both finger print and FaceID function.
I have been able to open my Samsung Note phones and Folds just by exposing my face to it for years.
This works on other apps as well.
Literally the only thing I prefer on my 15 pro max over the Fold is the camera.
I use both. iPhone OS feels very dated in comparison.
My Z Fold 5 will be here tomorrow and my 13 Pro Max is out of here … I might go back to Apple 🍏 one day when they stop selling the same phone every year. “ Come up with a new design “ 💯

The z fold 5 and s23 ultra are way better and with features like the programmable side key and gaming ,samsung has been able to do those things for years as well as USB C. I have the s23 ultra and it's the best phone ive ever used. Also the s23 ultra has dynamic island, multi tasking , s pen capabilities and emulators w with more games, and 10 x zoom with full clarity etc. However, I just used the 15 pro max today and the camera is impressive and it's very light but still my s23 ultra is more fun to use and also more capabilities and just wait until the z fold 6 ultra is released next year
Also with the iphone It can't really multi task, use copy and paste clipboard, run emulators for old school games and new games , use s pen stylus functionality with gestures , download anything from anywhere at anytime, use smart view projection nor anything like DEX projection , wireless powershare which comes in handy when you forget charger , similar charging speeds. Also on ios 17 reaching the control center is harder then my old iPhone 6s and you can't really customize the navigation method to shapes like samsung which isn't necessarily for me . For me I'm a samsung guy but I'll say this iphone 15 pro I give the camera clarity props after testing it but Samsung once I experienced those features I can't live without them
