I've always said, if there's a Hip Hop Hall of Fame, Tipper Gore should be a first ballot inductee. Rap had yet to really blow up until she and her cadre of Christian females started making a big stink about song lyrics. Almost overnight, millions of white kids from the suburbs started buying rap records to see what all the fuss was about. It's been a dominant genre of music ever since. Tip o' the hat to Tipper! The other thing that really helped Rap explode with white audiences was Aerosmith's collaboration with Run DMC on their remix of "Walk This Way."

Haven’t seen any other reactors checking out “Last Child” or “Back In The Saddle” or “Big Ten Inch” (lol at the last one, yes it is what you think) and those are all great songs. “Sweet Emotion” was another of their many super hits and a great song.

Aerosmith were huge back then. This is my favourite track by them. It has everything. Atmosphere, musicianship, attitude. Probably more presence than I have a vocabulary to express.

“Janie’s Got A Gun” was the first rock song I heard when I was 6, my 10-year-old cousin introduced me to it, back in the 80’s. We took shirts and ripped off the sleeves and sharpied some logos on them and lip-synced to it in a show we put on for our family. I’m not a huge Aerosmith fan now, but that song will always be kept in a nostalgic place in my heart.
This may be their most famous song. However, maybe the most “iconic” so to speak, is a new version of one of their old classics (that wasn’t necessarily a huge hit the first time round, I think). “Walk This Way.” Maybe react to it first (the original), though not necessary. I've been trying to get a reactor to do the official video of Pink in forever. So far I've only seen one do it (not at my request) Another I like is Eat the Rich. It's so iffy to get a good live Aero even though when they are really live they rock......so I always suggest official for them....especially the fun ones :)
The lead singer is Steven Tyler, he has a fairly decent range and always delivers crisp vocals. Aerosmith wasn't really into heavy merchandising like other rock bands of that era. The band falls into the lighter side of hard rock and a lot of their songs can be found in movie sound tracks, the most notable being "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" from the movie 'Armageddon'. Other songs I would recommend include 'Walk This Way (feat. Run DMC)', 'Sweet Emotion', 'Living on The Edge', 'Love in an Elevator', 'Dude Looks Like a Lady' and 'Come Together (cover of John Lennon & Paul McCartney)'
@@rbffbvs Tyler has a 4 octave range which is great for a vocalist. But 1 of those octaves he can only hit when he is screaming, which is not so great. When compared to other vocalist that can both scream and sing through 5-6 octave ranges, Tylers range is fairly decent.
Decent range and the lighter side of hard rock? You've must be talking about the older Aerosmith. Steven's vocal range was well beyond decent in the 70's and 80's and their music was far from light rock. The Aerosmith you are describing doesn't sound anything like the band I grew up listening to or saw numerous times in concert.

This was my 7th grade "favorite song." One of the few I performed in my bedroom with my hairbrush for a microphone. I was a pimply adolescent trapped in a body I had little to no control over as it was constantly changing, but I rocked as best I could. Love this Boston band.. As a kid I use to listen to my parents Aerosmith albums. My neighbor has lived here for about 50 years and says that one of the members of the bands aunt lived across the street and that the band use to practice there before they were famous. The lead singer is Steven Tyler. I have seen him driving in Marshfield and ran into him at FAO Schwartz toy store in Boston when I was in college. You should definitely check out more of their music.

I’m sorry, but I’m STILL laughing at the title of this video, “Are they a one-hit wonder?” It’s all good, I just can’t stop laughing. Haven’t seen any other reactors checking out “Last Child” or “Back In The Saddle” or “Big Ten Inch” (lol at the last one, yes it is what you think) and those are all great songs. “Sweet Emotion” was another of their many super hits and a great song.
There are many great Aerosmith songs: Walk this Way, The Other Side, Back in the Saddle, Magic Touch, Dude Look like a Lady, Living on the Edge, Ragdoll, Crying, Crazy, Falling so Love is so Hard on the knees, Chip Away the Stone, Deuces are Wild, Shut up and Dance. One hit Wonder? that is ridiculous.

This is a classic. Just pure gold. Aerosmith was HUGE in the 80s and for many years after. They still tour. One of my fav groups along with CCR.

Aerosmith were huge back then. This is my favourite track by them. It has everything. Atmosphere, musicianship, attitude. Probably more presence than I have a vocabulary to express.
My favorite Aerosmith sing is WALK THIS WAY, the original version, as mentioned in other comments they did a ground breaking collaboration with Run DMC which is great, but please listen to the original first! IMHO the original ROCKS

“Janie’s Got A Gun” was the first rock song I heard when I was 6, my 10-year-old cousin introduced me to it, back in the 80’s. We took shirts and ripped off the sleeves and sharpied some logos on them and lip-synced to it in a show we put on for our family. I’m not a huge Aerosmith fan now, but that song will always be kept in a nostalgic place in my heart.

I was twenty-one or so all those long years ago. Back when I thought that "truth" mattered and justice was more than a word that was used in TV crime dramas. To be honest, the dream dies hard. I still hold onto it because the alternative is insupportable.

In the early 80's a friends son turned 13. He told me about this "new" band Aerosmith. I brought my old albums to his house. Now you know too. You got some catching up to do. This is a good start.

The lead singer is Steven Tyler, he has a fairly decent range and always delivers crisp vocals. Aerosmith wasn't really into heavy merchandising like other rock bands of that era. The band falls into the lighter side of hard rock and a lot of their songs can be found in movie sound tracks, the most notable being "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" from the movie 'Armageddon'. Other songs I would recommend include 'Walk This Way (feat. Run DMC)', 'Sweet Emotion', 'Living on The Edge', 'Love in an Elevator', 'Dude Looks Like a Lady' and 'Come Together (cover of John Lennon & Paul McCartney)'
They are such a one hit wonder, that Disney world has a ride featuring them in Hollywood studios, The Rockin Rollercoaster.

@@rbffbvs Tyler has a 4 octave range which is great for a vocalist. But 1 of those octaves he can only hit when he is screaming, which is not so great. When compared to other vocalist that can both scream and sing through 5-6 octave ranges, Tylers range is fairly decent.

Steven's vocal range was well beyond decent in the 70's and 80's and their music was far from light rock. The Aerosmith you are describing doesn't sound anything like the band I grew up listening to or saw numerous times in concert.

Check out Walk this Way by them. They also did a collab with Run-DMC in the mid 80s and also played it during one of the superbowl halftime shows in the early 2000s I think.

This was my 7th grade "favorite song." One of the few I performed in my bedroom with my hairbrush for a microphone.
I was a pimply adolescent trapped in a body I had little to no control over as it was constantly changing, but I rocked as best I could.
And there needs to be a law that no one - NO ONE - except Steven Tyler should be aloud to do the screaming at the end.

Love this Boston band.. As a kid I use to listen to my parents Aerosmith albums. My neighbor has lived here for about 50 years and says that one of the members of the bands aunt lived across the street and that the band use to practice there before they were famous. The lead singer is Steven Tyler. I have seen him driving in Marshfield and ran into him at FAO Schwartz toy store in Boston when I was in college. You should definitely check out more of their music.
