Silver Marking Pens for Leather, Are They Worth It

They are meant for finished from and Leathers mainly. Really use for doing Stitch lines and seat covers and upholstery and shit like that

I have been using these for a while now and wouldn't go back. They do not bleed like most pens and the silver line is easy for me to see when cutting or marking patterns.

has anyone tried to use a wood plane as a skyving tool? wood planes are very sharp

Thank you for you're question and watching the video. Yes this is indeed a method people use to skive leather. If you Google Japanese leather plane you will see videos and pictures of them being used. Do these differ from the standard wood plane? Honestly I don't know, but it's the same concept.

peter romano I have and it works really well once you get the hang of it although your blade needs to be razor sharp.

apparently stanley 151 spokeshaves can be used for skiving..although they work better when modified

The refills, I assume you've looked online and only found refills, can be used with pretty much any pen-"casing" (in lack of a better word).
If this brand is similar to Star Silver (the brand I use) and I guess it is, using a regular eraser that you can get at any penstore will work.
