    Watching this series AGAIN for the bazillionth time, making sure I remember everything, WORD-FOR-WORD, before I start my first ever K24 all-motor build next week.

      How'd it go? I wanna build mine and everything actually seems pretty simple but choosing a cam is where I'm struggling otherwise once I figure that out I think it's go time.

    Sergmotife, when you used that rust remover you also etched all the metal surfaces to include the bearing surface of your rods. It wouldn't surprise me if you didn't have a premature failure and spin a bearing or two unless you took a hone to the rod end. Anything that will eat rust will etch metal. Thanks for the program!

    Really impressed with this build series, no parts left out, cut or skipped over, everything is through and makes it so easy that anyone could do it. Great video💯

    I keep recommending this video series to people. I've watched a few DIY k-series engine builds now, and the detail that you include in these really makes it the most useful I've seen. Really appreciate the time that you put into making these. Thanks!

    Serg: Glad to see you makin these vids, very informative! Also glad to see you in better spirits... just rewatched the disassembly and discovery of the flywheel. What a blow. The positives are that you can now redo anything you didn't like before and continue to show these great vids. Thanks for all your hard work, keep it up!

      Spoke to a few engine builders and they all recommended upgrading wrist pins when going force induction. The regular wrist pins will start to bend a little from all the stress and make the pistons sound like it’s slapping. As for all motor, you should be good with the regular ones.

    How do you not have more subs,is crazy. I'm starting to collect parts for my own frank build and your vids are definitely motivating and extremely helpful. I'll be hitting you up on ig pretty often for advice and guidance. My setup will be going into my daily ep3. Keep gunnin' and making those streets louder.

    The moment i was waiting so long :) cant wait to see the bearing and main bearing installation and of course piston ring installation :)
    If it would be possible to explain how to take measurements of bearings, main bearings and piston rings? I want to rebuild my k24a3 engine (stock rebuild) and ive searched on ebay for bearings but come with different colors?!(black, red,blue, yellow etc..) I was told i need to take measurements first, also something similar requiered for piston rings, if you could please cover these questions on next video and show how to measure them would be really helpful!

    Those are called Gudgeon Pins, friend. I wonder if teflon surface coating would help both on the piston head's gudgeon shaft hole and the 'wrist' pin (Gudgeon Pin). Scoring on the worn gudgeon is wear; I know, I kinda just state the obvious a lot...

    Serg, Thanks for the videos. In this video, you show you are going to use stronger wrist pins. Also, yiu are not using OEM rods, it appears. So the reciprocating weight (pistons, rings, wrist pins, wrist pin circlips, rods, rod bolts and rod bearings - all total) will be different than the OEM build, which was factory balanced by modification (holes) in the crankshaft counterweights. With this modified reciprocating weight, did you consider having the engine rebalanced?

    Amazing videos! My K20A2 in my Type S just gave up the ghost so I’ve decided to start my K20/24 build. I have some questions. What’s the difference between buying a K24 block, and putting my K20 head on it, and buying a stock TSX motor? And also when doing the swap will I need to swap ECUs and wiring harness, or will my KPRO handle it?

    I got wiseco upgraded wristpins for my build, and I cannot get the damn wristpin in for the life of me. Even after freezing the wristpin and heating the piston up an insane amount with a heat gun, I'm too scared to torch it tho. I feel like surely sanding can't be good for it though, right? I've never seen that anywhere else

  • @chrisC5339

    First rod-piston assembly that was done you had marked the rod and the piston but then you installed the rod on the wrong side of the piston, in other words your two marks weren't on the same side

  • @kriswest4808
    @kriswest4808 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    I know this video is from Jan but my question to you is. What the rotating assembly balanced? If so adding a heavy wrist pin would through the balance off. Is this something you accounted for?

    • @kayallen2641
      @kayallen2641 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      How do you port a rod or a piston.Maybe the intake.He could weigh every rod and piston and make them all the same weight so it would be balanced.But then you must know where to take out weight on a rod or piston.Seeing his videos the guy is very good but im going out on a linb and say he has no idea where to take the weight of o piston or a rod.Also some engine s have a lighter piston on a piston or rod.usually the 1 that is 4 6 or 8.But love your vidoes and if you know where to drill or shave off weight excuse my dumbass .Love your honesty as i i hope you like mine.I would measure all the rod at 1/4 inch interval s that would tell you where to take off after getting all measurements

    Wtf! Who puts chemical rust remover on rods? All you needed to do was put them in some oil. You had to have damaged the bearing surface.
