OMG!!! The memorizes are flooding back. I was a member of 88,89,90,91 marching band on the trumpet line. This is the year we took the championship from long time 4A champs Carson HS and beat out Garfield HS and thus beginning THE rivalry with Garfield. I remember the early morning rehearsals as well as late ones with Mr. Feliz. I'll never forget performing the Friday night games at Belmont. THANK YOU FOR POSTING THE VIDEO, IF YOU HAVE THE 1990 FINALS VIDEO THAT WOULD BE AWESOME TO SEE AGAIN.
Wonders what the 89' Alumni are doing now days? Congrats on the Win! Yes those uniforms are priceless and we made the best out of them. But Im very glad that we got new ones :) It was time to move on. Mr Feliz was an amazing teacher and did great things to keep his program growing. I thank him for being a part of my music career. P.S Im almost positive that I own the saxophone that comes up on 0:25
uniforms from then were awesome. i may be old skool, but they are really snazzy, simple & neat. you got this from mrs. lopez huh. i remember her saying that the pit player was her sister or something. sweet rolls. i wish i could do that! killer drumline entrance and solo.(kudos to the band and colorguard)OMG?!? that's you Jaime?! no freaking way! you look good! i love these uniforms. i told that to mrs. lopez and she gave me this 'are you nuts' look. it was hilarious. neat formations good music.
oh wow! I haven't seen this since..well, 1989! I remember all the lines taped to the ground were wrong! formations look alright considering that we used cones for field lines. lol...Do you have more from that year? or the following year? It's awesome reliving those memories.
@peierple I can't find the Bell high school from 1989. Though I did see Garfield, and they weren't that bad. If only there was a better quality video of this show. Belmont was really really good then.
@ rankor, what r u talking bout belmont did infact take the city championship. I have the vid of the award ceremony. Garfield took 3, bell took 2 n belmont took first! Same for the 1988 show! Garfield try to sue Belmont for beating them two years in a row! Then the banner went back to belmont in 1996!
Yup Two years!!! But this was a magical moment because Bell High school was in the game and when they were about announce 2nd because Garfield got 3rd, we were shaking, dry mouths and the announcer finally announced--“And in 2nd place, Bel.......High school!” We through they were going to announce our school. But nope it was a given we GLT FIRST!!! My mom was there and broke her heel from jumping up and down.
Belmont High School Class of '91. I went to this show to support my friends in the band and drill team. It was awesome!
