I bought a 4 person Eureka Timberline 18 years ago. I don’t use it every year nowadays, but it’s still as good as it was when new. I spray it every year that I use it with Camp Dry or similar product. At 70 years old, I’ll be proud to hand this tent down to a younger person on a budget! If they care for it as I have, it will last another decade or two! I carried it with me on several trips to Central and South America on motorcycle adventures! It always kept me dry!

As mentioned you're so positive, where I know I would have set that tent on fire by now. Thanks for your uplifting attitude and effort, I do find it inspiring,
We did watch this video when it first came. Wanted to let you know we're so sorry this tent caused such distress and discomfort. We did try your chicken and onion meal with the chipotle sauce and cream cheese. We added mushrooms and have it over riced cauliflower. It is fantastic. We call it Andy's chicken and onion recipe.😊 Blessings and Merry Christmas.🤗☃️🎄
Absolutely love your videos, I like how your not afraid to say if a product is terrible. Too many others will only show the good items. Thank you for these videos. Puts a smile on my face every time.
They were wrong when they said no man is an island! Andy was just that, floating around the tent!😊 Thanks for an entertaining AND informative video! So what did we learn? Don't buy that kit unless you plan to use it in a heatwave! Cheers Andy!
Bless your heart.. Only good thing is you, your lantern, the Lil stove & kettle.. I hope you get your money back on all the rest.. Thx for showing us..
Another fantastic and entertaining video Andy, as ever, your infectious laugh and genuine analysis make for compelling viewing! I loved the reactions to the equipment, drinks, and as ever the rain too! No matter how wet that tent became, it didn't damper your spirit! Brilliant! 😂
Bless your heart Andy, you stuck it out, your such a trooper! At least you were able to show how NON WATERPROOF that tent was. Thanks for all of your hard work.
Handling fee is when you hit a certain amount on total order. Maybe take an item off to stay under the 180 mark and save 40 on handling. Heard stories about way around this. Another awesome video
I was under the impression that if the business is not registered for vat in the uk, you end up paying it. (Found this out the hard way ordering a leather hat from the states, cost 40 sheets, paid that again in "handling".)
From what I remember about nylon tents is you can't even touch the sides of the tent or it will start to leak. You need a tarp under it and over top of it . Camping in a rainforest.
Grew up in Kent 😁 Walking, Cycling, Hostelling, Camping. Left in 2011 for Scotland which then led to Spain 😂 Love the outdoors and fresh air. 😂 several decades later I spend my evenings out back of my wee villa and right now n the winter, still outside under cover, udder a duvet and heated blanket, have a fire pit under cover for the super cold nights. Often wake up as the sun rises out here. My chichuana loves the sun and in winter has the other end of the duvet.
Amazing!!! Took 2 weeks off from work and cannot take my eyes off of your videos. I will tell everyone when I return that "I went camping". Ty. Simply amazing work!!
We have one tent and have had it for years!! One thing i always do and recommend folks do everytime they get ready to camp. I buy the moisture barrier spray like you you would use for work boots. I have no leakes. First thing we do is rake or sweep camp site so we are sure there is no rocks or sharp sticks to puncture the bottom of tent. I put down a tarp before any bedding is arranged.
Andy, ya know, you work hard to give us some insight and I have to thank you for that. I’m glad you didn’t get burnt by the fire. I look forward to some snowy winter camping. Thanks for sharing and going way out of your way for your viewers.
I did end up buying something from your Temu camp. It was the brown organizational bag that you showed next to the backpack you didn't like. I use mine in my car to keep all my travel stuff together and I love it. But I don't carry it around or use it outside of the car, so I'm not too worried about it not holding up over time.
If you warm up the tortilla in a dry skillet first, it should soften the brittle tortilla problem if they seem very brittle the heat should soften them up and make them become flexible. Once they are warm you can then wrap them in a bit of aluminium foil so they stay warm and soft. You can wrap them in a damp tea towel and then the foil if they seem dry and brittle. This works with both flour and corn tortillas.
We’ve all had one of these camps. Hilarious to watch it happening to others but I recall how testing it can be. No one died so all set for the next camp. Great giggle, thanks.
Oh you’ve given me flashbacks to my childhood and camping on the Oregon coast! Several summers in a row we woke up at the crack of dawn, threw everything into the car and drove home in the pouring rain. Our 1970’s era tents held up better than this cheap stuff. Though the best solution was to camp on the east side of the state where it’s dry. They should advertise the awning as a rainwater collector ;)
Ground cover under every tent I ever used - no leakage problem. Awning, when raining shorten 1 support leg for drainage. Other leakage in tent , probably seams needed to be treated with sealant pre use. Camping in rain sucks , been there done that. Always kept a really good thermos filled with boiling water for hot cocoa or tea in the morning. Helped to lift the dampened spirits. Enjoyed the camping otherwise ❤
I swear this is a compliment!! 😂 These videos are just putting me right to sleep at night!! I love them. What a relief I’ve been trying so hard to fall asleep I haven’t slept in days and I watched two of theee last night and that kind voice and lovely fire sounds etc just put me out. I slept from 20:00-6:00! ❤❤❤🎉
Our daughter's partner has one of those fire pits a least my grass doesn't get burnt when we have birthday barbeques in April. The tent is little better than a kiddies play tent. Good on you for sticking it out.
In the summer, sainsburys have loads of cheap camping equipment (way cheaper than this stuff even). It would be so cool if you did a camping trip using only sainsburys stuff
Hey Andy! I recently discovered your channel last night and since then I've been going through your videos and enjoying your content! I love how much work you put into the content you make, it's awesome! Keep it up and thank you for all the videos you make!
Thanks for testing this stuff so others don't have to! I imagine this set-up would sell well to the Glastonbury clan. Hey-ho. I still have my old Vango ridge tent which has served me well over the years. Bit heavy, but always reliable. Any chance of showing us how you build a latrine? I guess it's the obvious question for most beginners. . . . . . . How do you go to the loo ???? Might be worth you doing an episode on the subject. Loving what you do, much respect, Ant from Manchester. :)
I had to laugh when I saw the size of the tent pegs. When I was a kid, tent pegs were about an inch wide and about 13 inches long. Your videos bring back so many fab memories of camping with my family as a kid.
I was so surprised that you stayed the night and attempted to make a cuppa in the morning! Well done on sticking it out. 👏🏻👏🏻 I think i would have bailed.
Always use a ground sheet under your shelter, especially with tents. With swags, a groundsheet makes pack-up easier as you don't have to wipe the base of the swag clean before packing up. In Australia we use 3x3 mesh floors (similar to a tarp but a mesh) as it lets water drain through, sand falls off and leaves fall off. NEVER solely rely on the base of a tent directly on the ground. Groundsheets also ensure that the equipment lasts longer as the base of the equipment doesn't get anywhere near as damaged from the ground as it otherwise would if a groundsheet wasn't used.
Thanks for another great video Andy. People like yourself and Simon provide much more than entertainment, you help lift alot of people's moods and mental health im sure other than myself. Definitely helps keep away the winter blues.....On a separate note, is that a Hults Ekelund you use?. If so where did you get your full length sheath from? All the best mate
I haven't finished watching yet, only just saw the fire pit revealed, but as someone used to camping in the desert/chaparral/arid grasslands, where our fire danger tends to range between orange and dark maroon consistently, and burn bans are more common than allowing campfires in many places, I already get nervous when you use wood fires in quality firepits or stoves and don't totally clear out all brush and leaf litter around for quite some distance and make a ring of rocks and a whole host of things that are mandatory here. We use propane instead, and permanent campgrounds typically have bbq grills that use charcoal (which sparks less than wood) or even electricity so you can just bring a portable electric stove. Mostly I go to state parks and other nature preserves though, so they prefer to keep the humans more contained for obvious reasons. I know you are in a very wet place and things are very different there, and you don't have to worry about burning down hundreds of thousands of acres (our largest fire in state history was like 500,000 acres, or over 202,000 hectares). But I saw that fire pit and my brain went into danger mode. I don't know the outcome of it in your area in this video especially with wet ground, but every fiber of my being is telling me that that thing is not fire resistant at all and that fire is going to spread in some fashion and it will be very dangerous. Let's see if I am right. I would never use something that flimsy that holds fire near anything remotely flammable. Will come back and edit if it catches fire. Edit: well that was even more alarming than I feared. I expected a spark or something getting through the mesh (which was happening when you started it, but what actually happened would have been an utter disaster in a dry place! They shouldn't be allowed to sell dangerous things like that.
PMSL 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 with your " Shein headlight " !!! Looks like you were going mining , instead of camping . A few ODD features , but all in all ... " N A H " ..... Just loooooved the " comfy chair " that you bought as well ! 😂😂😂😂😂 Best thing out of everything was the cooking stove / heater ! Loved how the 1 liter kettle slotted in on top ! Too bad about the tent Andy mate ! Sure Marc and Kevin found this very funny ! 😂😂😂👍👍 Cheers , 🍺🍺🍺 Helen ❤
Great video as always. As a non camper I think it might be interesting to see what your average spend on these shopping site camps could get you at say go outdoors etc, just a thought. Anything you do is great 😊
@@natashalawlor1542gear recommendations are really going to depend on the type of camping you want to do. Andy does everything from back to basics tarp camping to full on glamping usually by himself so if you are planning for a couples or family camp, you'll want different gear.
Thanks, Andy! Love your channel! Always wonder how you got started as an outdoorsman? Family? Boyscouts? Also wonder what your day job is? Thanks for the great content ❤
First time viewer and am subscribing cause I have never enjoyed hearing someone say "garbage" so much... the passion. You are a very brave man for trying their camping gear.
The handlin fee is similar to shipping fees. Anyway i think it is. First time I have seen a fire pit like that. Anyway thank you for the video. Im watching it right now. ❤❤❤❤❤❤😊
Unfortunately, so many products are made to LOOK like the actual product, but with little or no concern for function. I have purchased a cheap can opener that looked like a name brand model, but it wouldn't actually open a can. I bought a pair of wire cutters that it turns out wouldn't actually cut wire. I'm glad to see a growing trend of manufacturing moving back on-shore here in the states. Which costs more, a cheap item that doesn't work? Or a more expensive item that does work?
Yep. I went through the Cheap Chinese Boots" stage at one point, having to replace them every six or eight months. Then I got smart, paid three times the price for a good US Made brand and have been wearing them over twenty years, including half that time riding motorcycles offroad, with studded footpegs. 😎👍
Thanks for your videos Andy. I’m not even much of an outdoorsman and I love watching. You have to be good at doing something to make it interesting to people that don’t even do what you are showing! Not only do you come across as very personable guy, your videos are very well recorded and very, very well edited. Very nice presentation. You must spend many, many hours editing! Well done!!
I can’t believe the prices of these tents… I got a nice 1 man tent from sports direct that does a good job for £30… you should do a sports direct camp 👍🏼👍🏼
This is why I'm a firm believer in "you get what you pay for". Always enjoy your videos! We've all had those camps where it just seems like everything is going wrong. Can't wait for the next one!
Well my friend, you have the patience of a Saint and the heart of an Angel there Andy - had to be one of the roughest camps you've done in a very long time, it was even worse than that old Ambulance on it's side!! And that was rough!! Sorry to see your latest experience not go as planned, though you probably had your suspicions deep down it wouldn't pan out, though it has highlighted that Brand, is everything. Take care Andy, all the best pal.
Andy brilliant video as always! To complete the series I think we need to see a tik tok shop only camp! As the shop is quite vast you should be able to get 95% of your gear from there and it would tie up the “what not to buy” series nicely 😂
Spotted a folding saw like that in LIDL for £2.99 These chinese shopping apps are not only encouraging bad labour practises but they're also sell crap that takes ages to arrive.
Good on you for eating well and actually cooking a lot of people making these videos cook pre made and pre packaged things. I appreciate and enjoy watching this :)
A cup of tea makes everything much better. ..cream cheese is amazing to cook with, especially in potato soup...u have such a positive attitude! Years ago, at least 25, my daughter and I would do primitive camping, at least til she hit the teen years and became interested in other things, just the two of us as my late husband wouldnt go with us...lot of physical work, but so mentally healing
The most comfortable you looked in this 1 is your dinner. Someone I think gotcha with Shein products. Andy you handled yourself better than me, considering the products purchased. I know what I would've said & done. ❤
before even watching I would say I heard as many derogatory comments about Shein as Temu and now 'apparently' Temu and its parent company are under investigation for 'supposedly ' planting malware on systems and computers linked to the site 🤯
You are simply amazing, Andy. Thank you for everything you do for us. You're the best, and that's the truth. You suffered so we wouldn't have to so we could see that not everything is what it seems, that just because it's easy setup and a good price doesn't mean it's a good thing. The only thing I would buy is the stove you were using at the end, now that looked pretty cool. You're Awesome! Keep adventuring God Bless you.. Thanks again Andy. Awesome as always. 🤗HUGS🤗
Sorry Andy... when it comes to outdoors, tried and tested, even though it might cost a bit more, I'd rather be safe, comfortable and not sorry, and getting that stove fired up for a brew in that weather, bud your a bloody trooper.....brilliant effort big man...🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂😂🤣😂 cheers 👍👍👍🏴🏴🏴🍺🍺🍺
Poor Andy... I will say that you provided a bit of comedy commentary throughout this camp. I'm sorry but... god damn this tent... sent me into hysterical laughter. I hope you enjoyed a hot bath and warm meal when you returned home.
Im giving this video a like just for the first few seconds of clips.😂 it looks like its going to be a disaster so it will be a fun video no doubt. Andy you are such a calm and confident guy, i wish i had a fraction of your skills, watching your videos has given a wealth of important information and insight. Stay safe fella.
As someone who only knew SHEIN for women's clothing, i never thought I'd hear the words 'there were no axes on SHEIN so ive brought my own' 🤣
😂
Ive seen shein ads for a backyard forge/kiln for smelting before
I would consider an axe a staple woman’s accessory
Next up... Hiking 25 miles in freezing rain using only clothing purchased from Uniqlo.
Women do need some good axes for some exes... To gift to them when they get remarried of course if they like carpentry or something
Now which one of you sent this man to SHEIN for camping gear 😂
he did a temu one beforeee, I think that's why loll
😂😂😂
LOL
😂😂
The only advantage is, you don't have to dry that stuff out, because it will go directly into the garbage bin.
🤣 that's where the temu one went
The garbage men will be happy to see all the water. Lol

We did try your chicken and onion meal with the chipotle sauce and cream cheese. We added mushrooms and have it over riced cauliflower. It is fantastic. We call it Andy's chicken and onion recipe.😊
Blessings and Merry Christmas.🤗☃️🎄
Absolutely love your videos, I like how your not afraid to say if a product is terrible. Too many others will only show the good items. Thank you for these videos. Puts a smile on my face every time.
Clicked on this by accident but no regrets 😁 this was highly entertaining!
Same!! I’m now subbed to the channel 😂 great find x
Brilliant! 😂
Bravo Andy you're the man. Thanks for enduring that lovely storm.
Bless your heart Andy, you stuck it out, your such a trooper! At least you were able to show how NON WATERPROOF that tent was. Thanks for all of your hard work.
Yeah he's already been blessed by the Lord!
Handling fee is when you hit a certain amount on total order. Maybe take an item off to stay under the 180 mark and save 40 on handling. Heard stories about way around this. Another awesome video
I came here to say this 😅
I was under the impression that if the business is not registered for vat in the uk, you end up paying it.
I had to laugh so much at knocking the fire pit over!!! I think it was you looking and saying oh no!! Then it being attached to your coat!!!!
I got so invested in this, that I actually cried out with concern when the fire pit took a tumble 😅
Glad you came through (relatively) unscathed.
Can I just say I love the tots tv reference in there with le sac magic 😂😂😂 as I was born in 87 that made my heart happy!!
I'm glad I'm not the only one! I watch it with my son on YT - he thinks it's hilarious - they were so passive aggressive with each other
We have one tent and have had it for years!!
Your dedication to bringing us your camping adventures is admirable! Thanks for sharing yet another episode with us.
"I got it (this headlamp) just because of how ridiculous it looks" LOL! Great video as always.
Our daughter's partner has one of those fire pits a least my grass doesn't get burnt when we have birthday barbeques in April. The tent is little better than a kiddies play tent. Good on you for sticking it out.
Another great video, Andy. You never stop smiling even when cursing 😂. You just ooze positivity
Oh Andy. Bless your heart. Thank you for enduring such hardships so we don’t have to.
Oui, j'aimerais bien savoir comment faire pour les WC. 😅
I think i would have bailed.
I love these kind of videos. I don't know how I got to your channel, but now you have a new subscriber from Sweden! :D
The folding saw is brilliant, I have two WW2 dated, I've used one the other is still brand new in its box and wax paper.
Yes another episode thats almost an hour long 😊. Going to save it to watch with a cuppa after my tea 👌🏻
Cheers , 🍺🍺🍺
Helen ❤
Great video as always. As a non camper I think it might be interesting to see what your average spend on these shopping site camps could get you at say go outdoors etc, just a thought. Anything you do is great 😊
I'd love this , or maybe even a recommendations video for new campers would be brilliant ✨
@natashalawlor1542 yes fantastic idea x
@@natashalawlor1542gear recommendations are really going to depend on the type of camping you want to do. Andy does everything from back to basics tarp camping to full on glamping usually by himself so if you are planning for a couples or family camp, you'll want different gear.
It'd be interesting to see an "All Walmart Gear Campout". 😅
That headlamp is HYSTERICAL. Thanks for the laugh😊
I'm sure that's a bike version 😂
Sorry this was a rough one. Love the videos -- inspiring me to think about trying out bushcraft.
Thanks for taking one for the team, mate. It's appreciated.
This is why I'm a firm believer in "you get what you pay for". Always enjoy your videos! We've all had those camps where it just seems like everything is going wrong. Can't wait for the next one!
I was so impressed with that firepit until seeing that the slightest nudge could tip it over. Thank you for showing us the way.
awesome as always.thanks for sharing and taking us along.
C'est que de la mer- de
LOVE your vids mate warts and all😂when the pit fell over 😂😂😂
I think the stove might be the only good deal. And the weird elevated fire pit thing isn’t bad.
God no! It tipped over, incredibly dangerous design!!!!!!
Oh boy! All I can say is I’m glad it’s you and not me! Thanks for sharing with us what doesn’t work!
Spotted a folding saw like that in LIDL for £2.99
These chinese shopping apps are not only encouraging bad labour practises but they're also sell crap that takes ages to arrive.
And they are a nightmare for returns! You are spot on, it's cheap crap and a rip off.
@@macelven not even cheap though, in the video he paid £6 on "discount", twice as much as a more reputable brand haha lessons for us all!
Good on you for eating well and actually cooking a lot of people making these videos cook pre made and pre packaged things. I appreciate and enjoy watching this :)
This as a great informative video. Fun to watch as I am snug under my covees.
It looks like a summer tent. Good luck with the rain 🌧️☔❤❤❤❤❤❤😊
You are just the coolest person ever! I love your humor!
One of the funniest videos I’ve watched in a while! Thank you Andy for going through that so we don’t have to, hope you’ve dried out! 😂
The most comfortable you looked in this 1 is your dinner. Someone I think gotcha with Shein products. Andy you handled yourself better than me, considering the products purchased. I know what I would've said & done. ❤
The intro makes it look as if you had a grand ole time. :) thanks andy
🤣
Andy's The king of creativity..from the intro I can't tell that'll be a "funny" one to watch . 😂🔥
before even watching I would say I heard as many derogatory comments about Shein as Temu and now 'apparently' Temu and its parent company are under investigation for 'supposedly ' planting malware on systems and computers linked to the site 🤯
Chinese state
Wouldn't surprise me at all
Ya that's too, and I caugh4 them trying to withdraw from my checking account when I did not order anything.
Yikes!
Oh no, who would’ve thought
Sprinkle with a little water before you grill them and that should soften them up. ❤❤❤❤❤❤😊
Next video: 60s/70s camping gear!
That head torch is ridiculous! Gave me quite a chuckle. Great video as always! Cheers!
Where are you Andy!!?! 😢 I’m missing a new update. Hope all is well on your end.
Been wondering the same thing, hope all is well.
Keep adventuring
God Bless you..
