Are you still reading this?? If so, type "What DID happen to the hairy guy?" in the comments below!!
Gravity: makes you never want to leave your world
The Martian: inspires you to want to leave your world
Interstellar: fucks up your idea about the world
+HappyTofu Ikr XD
+HappyTofu i love Martian soo
+HappyTofu cus i like farming potatoes..
Transformers: Makes you hate your world.
If you feel like this about Interstellar I highly recommend you to never watch 2001: A Space Odyssee
omg, i was dying from the pinball sound effects.
+hudsmack That was my favorite part XD
Lmfbo me too 😂
always play tx sector.
I watched this in my cubicle at work wearing head phones. I laughed so loud at that part, then realized it, stood up and everyone was looking my way.
What's pinball?
jk
Kudos to whomever thought of adding the pinball sound effects... epic.
yup, that just made me giggle.
@@kanedNunable It's been 8 years since I made that comment, I couldn't actually remember what I was talking about, lol I had to re-watch it to see, hah hah hah 1:51
Whomever -> whoever
"Shia LaBeoufing"
...
Best. Reference. Ever.
Starfall The Gustavo Fring one was pretty good too.
I DIED
Gus fring. Im so happy my wife was only listening and not watching that part. I am rewatching breaking bad and its her 1st time and we arent there yet. So it would have been a massive spoiler.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👏👏👌👌
This film left me with so many unanswered questions. What >did< happen to the hairy guy?
Joshua Oxenford it was a lady XD
wha
It was CHEWBACCA!
space is cold, the hull got destroyed, SHE got froz..............oooooooooohhhhhhhhh that hairy guy.
I always wondered where she landed on Earth ?
Guess we won't be going to Mars anytime soon 2 years later "The Martian"
Thats what i was thinking
You forgot the fact that there is only one actor for like 99.999999% of the movie.
Maria Uribe 3:12 was soo funny..just so depressing the ISS!!!...and The Chinese Space Station!!and the Hubble Telescope!!!and..........FaceBook -_-
I'm going to add another one: Sandra Bullock's breath.
Mande Peer Yes!
+Mande Peer You also forgot about Sandra Bullock's hair!
I would give this a thumbs up but you have 99 likes on a comment that says "99.999999%", I can't bring myself to ruin that
"Get ready for 90 minutes of bumping into stuff"
I died😂😂 the sound effects on that killed me😂
In the theaters,Gravity is a terrifying spectacular through space.
At home,Gravity is Sandra Bullock floating and making noises.
huh kinda forgot they broke every important piece of tech in orbit
Yep, they broke all of humanity's space thingies :D
so no more facebook, calling or texting, or anything else wireless really
+MiniBandit007 actually, no more internet, no more tv that isn't local. even alot of long distances calling. and the weather man is fucked.
You know that we have underwater internet cables for internet and optical cables on continents, right? And facebook servers are not stored on satellites...
Lol
Watched this movie again, twice in 2 days.
The visuals are still amazing, but what made me weep was the underlying metaphor of overcoming grief: a woman trapped in her grief (the darkness of space) avoiding that grief (the silence of space, driving with the radio on), wanting to let go (turning off oxygen in the capsule), and ultimately choosing to live again after her grief (making it to the final pod), while every possible insurmountable obstacle is thrown in her way. Even when she reaches earth and thinks she’s safe, she almost drowns. It’s a brilliant movie
idk man, it sounds like a unstable person to me. And that's not good for an astronaut
You are easily impressed. It was lazy and pretentious at the same time.
@@GZP1023 I can't tell about the metaphor,, but for sure it's not lazy to make a movie with mainly one only character, with the only goal of surviving, and making it interesting and intense. It's really hard to do simple and attractive.
So, maybe it's pretentious, but damn, it's a success, most of people was grip to their seats when i saw it, but of course, it's meant for theaters, it's true cinema.
I couldn't stand this movie one time 😂 all i remember is her mouning 😂
"Matt George Clooney Kowalski, a George Clooneyish pilot with the charm of George Clooney." That was fucking brilliant!
The pinball sound effects got me :) Very funny stuff.
Anytime you watch it you get the funfair music and pinball effects in your head.
I can't believe you didn't pick up on the fact that when Incompetent Ripley managed to catch the strap holding Buzz Lightyear, preventing him from drifting out into space... and she had to .. let him go? Like wtf... they are in space! When she grabbed a hold of that strap.. all forward momentum was stopped, all she needed to do was yank it and pull him back in.
I think space was using an old operating software. Its bern fixed and updated this year.😂
the physics in this movie… let’s just say they are from another dimension 🤣
What DID happen to the hairy guy?
He got hairier.
Incompetent Ripley
Buzz Lightyear
LMAO!
Gus Fring
LOL. I hoped Clooney would be credited as "Buzz Lightyear". I always thought Buzz Lightyear looked like Clooney (who would make the perfect live-action BLY)

Incompetent Ripley had me go
"OHHHHHHHHH!"
I like to think I see things in people
Why do so many people hate this movie? If Neil DeGrasse Tyson loved this movie despite some flaws with physics, why can't you? It is not meant to be Citizen Kane, it is supposed to be a technical masterpiece. If you didn't see it in 3D, too bad, too sad. This was one of the most atmospheric movies ever, despite taking place in space. People don't complain about the arguably generic story of Star Wars (original trilogy) or Jurassic Park, both of which had corny dialogue yet groundbreaking effects, so why complain about Gravity?
By the way, I love all those movies and think they are classics in their own way.
Why do you like Neil Degrass?
DJ Moon Knight It's hard to explain exactly why I like Tyson, but it's the same reason why lots of people like Bill Bye, if that makes any sense.
ColaNerd10 *Nye
ColaNerd10 yes, it does
joecugo I'm fine with you saying Gravity is overrated, but what's your deal with one of the most prestigious scientists in the present day?
90 minutes of bumping into stuff and failing to grab onto stuff. reminds me of england's fielding in cricket.
I thought you were gonna say sex...
Do not watch this movie on a plane folks...just don't.

STARRING: Incompetent Ripley...that was classic.
I agree,
Also, makes me want an Alien Honest Trailer.
"sandra bullock explaining the plot" i died
and not an entertaining one
mee too!!!
gnilttbs I kind of agree with aracuscesar (except without the cursing). The plot seemed pretty bad and impossible (I mean, how could every space station not know that their satellites were about to be crashed into?). There wasn't really any character development (since there were really only two characters) plus no humor or anything that made me like the cast. Also, after landing on Earth, how could the main character get up and walk moments after landing when she was just in space? I enjoyed seeing George Clooney, though.
"What DID happen to the hairy guy?"
Also, please do Frozen. Or say "The cold never bothered me anyway "
This is one of the funniest movies of the year...Oh wait. You mean it wasn't a comedy?
lol
***** GTFO u r a bot lol!
Also staring: "The most pointless death ever" and no gravity :D
I know. Clooney shouldn't have died! That was completely against the laws of physics the inertia between them had been arrested they would have slowly been heading towards each other anyway by that point!
For a film that is so careful on nearly everything it does it's a pain when the one time it really goofed was at such a major point.
But there is gravity in space remember an orbit is falling forever - so yeah that name does make sense.
H[lambda]LF I gathered that I was talking more about the logic of momentum and inertia in an airless weightless environment.
Thomas Mason
"That was completely against the laws of physics the inertia between them had been arrested they would have slowly been heading towards each other anyway by that point!"
IMO during the scene it is pretty clear that Stone and Kowalski never stopped drifting away from the ISS. Thats the reason why Kowalski flew away after he untethered himself. The notion from some people that they basically stopped is just wrong.
H[lambda]LF Yes, because inaccuracies about reality in a film instantly make that film terrible.
If you're going to dislike this movie, please choose a better reason. It's not trying to be realistic, so why judge it on realism? We should judge Iron Man too! It's a bad movie because a suit like that wouldn't work in the present day!
Jeez, I don't know how people like you derive enjoyment from any entertainment.
Jackson Murphy well the movie tried so hard to make everything to look so real, especially inside the space crafts ( except the Chinese one, nobody know how that one look inside :D ) I could stomach that everything was so close in orbit, I can skip that changing orbital plane would take more power than even shuttle have but when their inertia stopped and Kowalski is still torn away I just could't get over that one, its physic breaking in movie that try so hard to make us belie its real. Do I think its a good movie, yes ! Despite all the mistakes its a visually stunning movie, Sandra is still hot :) and for me I think first time ever there was no explosion sounds in space ( finally ! ) :D
I want them to do Wall-E now
You are right, do wall-e!
Say: "I used to do things--I still do, but I used to, too."
The most incredible setting in the real world. An actor and an actress at the top of their game. CGI that is completely indistinguishable from reality. Impeccably framed shots that last for minutes at a time. A wonderfully minimal story that focuses solely on a great character arc. Immersive and innovative sound design. Some of the most awe-inspiring images you will ever see in a cinema.
"waz boring not enough explosions 0/10 (and I might have ADD)"
You don't have to be smart to like Gravity, but you'd be dumb not to.
There are many plotholes too, sorry
Shia Labeoufing lol
You look a bit like him
Hahaha, I never thought of that, it's kinda true in a way.
In terms of movie (art & technicalities), Gravity is one of the best!!
In terms of scientific accuracy, Interstellar is brilliant!
Dwayne Wade Really dude? Scientific accuracy? Diving into black holes and coming back in a 5 dimensional bookcase? How is that an accurate reflecion on science?
Gerben van der Kley Yes. Theoretical physics & quantum mechanics play an important role in scientific discoveries today. With such things like wormholes & dark matter/energy being pieced together the LHC, and being woven into current scientific research and discovery. Gravity got the basic fundamental laws of physics wrong, like gravity, ironically.
AprimalDwarf I know, but it seems not really accurate to push books out of a shelf after getting stuck in a black hole so you can create a paradox.. right? I know quantum mechanics are really important for discoveries, except for the fact we never discovered what's inside a black hole
Gerben van der Kley Well, it is definitely bordering on the edge of impossibility in terms of theoretical physics. Black holes are still confusing things, even to scientists that study them (like the black hole information paradox) and a magic space library that enters fifth dimensions and creates infinite impossible paradoxes are certainly the most unlikely thing they will ever be. (within realms of reality).
Maybe I'm biased towards this film, because this kind of theoretical science is fun to see on a screen, but it still gets more things right than gravity.
AprimalDwarf You are absolutely right :)
The Shia LaBeouf part is so true
Gravity in a nutshell: Sandra Bullock, George Clooney, 90 minutes of heavy breathing, no sex.
Harder to make these when the film is actually amazing.
Noticed Gus Fring??

2:31 The "Shia Labeouf'ing" part! hahaha
I really liked this movie, but the pinball sound effects had me doubled over in laughter.
And a veteran astronaut that doesn't understand how gravity or Newton's third law of motion and conservation of momentum works... in a movie called gravity.
(George Clooney's character needlessly sacrifices himself even after the forces on his tether have cancelled out).
They did not cancel out. They were both pulling the parachute ropes with their combined weight.
No, the forces had resolved. The original post is correct. Movie got it wrong!
@@ladyjinx7237 👍
I cried during the movie and was laughing during this. The most honest review I saw said if you can empathize with the protagonist in their situation, it's an extremely good movie, but if you can't you won't enjoy it.
"Shia Labeoufing"
LOL
EmptyRoxas lol same here
Let's make 'Shia LeBeoufing' an official phrase...

once you watch one video you want to see them all lol.
It's scary how true that is
aaron morris im having a marathon... a *marathon*
lol yupp that's true. Cnt get enough if them.
That movie was non-stop suspense. I felt like I was gonna lose it and have a panic attack the whole time.
"Buzz Lightyear" and "Wall-E" killed me. XD
Also loved the "Incompetent Ripley" one.
I think people didn't like Gravity because they went in expecting some typical non-stop action disaster film. But it had more to it...it had the 'boring' moments that addressed a lot on humanity and what people struggle through, and their will to keep adapting and to survive. That was what the ending touched on...when Sandra stands up from the water it's reflecting on mankind's evolution, reaching all the way to the space age. And they made all those moments fit in naturally without disrupting the events that were happening.. I loved the film not just for the cool visuals and fast-paced beginning with the meteorite storm, but because of the underlying story of human life.
I lost it when he said "Starring Wall-E" xD
''We just lost the space ship and the ISS and a Chinese space station and the Hubble Telescope and Facebook and left so much debris we won't be able to leave Earths for hundreds of years'' That got me
Do honest trailer for Interstellar.. It's an awesome movie
The blu-ray must be available first! ;-)
Completely lost it at "Shia LaBeoufing"
So did I, Loved that!

The "Shia Labouf-ing" just cracked me up!

I still want a honest trailer for the Purge trilogy.
As much I loved Gravity, this was very funny.

Here's Gravity in a nutshell. "I'm spinning! *Gasp Gasp Gasp*". It was still a good movie.
It was boring
Brian Muro you found this boring? wow
Graham Dickerson no he's right only 30% of the movie is actual action sequences, the rest is kinda boring...
Graham Dickerson This movie was like the most boring one I've ever seen.
Shia Lebeouf-ing! got me XD
it's like a new verb or something
Dictionary
Shia Lebeoufing
Verb
she-a-la-boo-fin-g
To Shia Lebeouf is to awesome.
The pinball noises were fantastic.
Gravity was a good film, Interstellar was a masterpiece.
Nolan fanboy *sigh
+Ruwindu Gunatilake I'd argue that they are both as good in different ways. And come on; as much care and effort went into Interstellar and as much as I respect it you cannot deny it some some HUGE flaws. The good stuff is good enough to overlook those flaws but it was far from a perfect film.
Thomas Mason When I saw masterpiece it's not perfect. Mona Lisa is a masterpiece and yet Da Vinci couldn't finish it. I said this was a masterpiece because it just left something in my mind which I couldn't take off. But with Gravity it was more of a one time enjoyment for me. This is all personal opinions. I am not the voice of the people after all.
Featuring "Gus Fring"..brilliant.

I saw this on my 2D flat screen television and still thought it was pretty awesome. Wish I'd seen it on the big screen though.
I watched this film at the cinema in HD and loved it. I felt like I was there, the panic, the silence... it wasn't boring at all. A film doesn't need action to be good. The main point were the emotions, obviously if you were looking for an action movie with a complex plot then don't watch it. But I like these films that make you feel involved, it was really beautiful.
This movie actually made me WANT to be a astronaut.
Say "The Wheel of Fate is turning. Rebel 1. Action!"
I just watched it after getting it for my birthday today and it's just as fucking awesome as people make it out to be.
It was terribly un-accurate. I didn't like it one bit but hey, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
***** I have never heard of anything being un accurate before
Edward Elric
Yeah, but normally when a movie tries to portray itself as scientifically relevant, they don't write a story about people that are so incompetent they'd be banned from commercial flights, let alone getting into space.
I didn't imply it in that, more in the way of you cannot get fires in space stations.
Guys guys guys I was making fun of the word Un-accurate
Why in this movie does everything of consequence we put in orbit suddenly fly at them from their different orbits in space? Did they not take the 2 minutes to research the fact that the ISS and the hubble telescope orbit about a hundred or so km apart in altitude?
+LT Gen Klink This was the most realistic movie ever made.
*****
You certainly took the time to seek out a comment like this and voice your opinion.
*****
If they can't represent 2 objects being nowhere near the correct orbit, then it isn't worth watching in my opinion.

And that's my business, unless it involves talking pandas kung fu fighting, then it ceases to be a concern. Also, it is my business ultimately. Does it hamper your watching experience to know I look with disfavor upon certain things you like?

I loved Gravity- every minute was thrilling and the plot was good
very surprised he didn't make fun of the fact that the movie is trying to take itself so seriously despite how unrealistic it is.
According to former NASA astronaut Garrett Reisman, it's the most realistic work of fiction (read: "fiction"). He points out that all the things it gets right made it that much easier to notice the things they got wrong, which consist of "hopping from one orbit to the next"; "not wearing a diaper" and "somehow knowing the controls on a Chinese station".
ResidentEvilWiki maybe Reisman wasn't paying attention, but there was a lot more wrong with the movie than that. but before we go into that, why don't you tell me all those things it got so right.
He described the accurate portrayal of the initial spacewalk, including the complexity of changing the direction of motion. He's skimming through what he found to be right, though, since he pretty much just says that and "they got the controls right".
ResidentEvilWiki that's not exactly impressive. 2001 a space odyssey did about as decent of an EVA. if those are the only two things, then based just off of your example there's already more cons than pros.
Then he really must have skimmed through all the Pros (or strangely couldn't think of anything to back up what he said).
Say: They call me Stacey! but thats not my name!
This movie actually made me grateful for gravity. That ending where she was actually able to stand on her own two legs...
Thanks for the spoiler.
clevelandphil It's in the video!
PassTheMarmalade1957 Ruined it for me to, Thanks
CronicX007 Well don't look at the comments, then.
the people who made this movie don't understand physics
Ausintune agreed
Ausintune How and why?
master is correct and MMU cant even change orbit at all xD
Ausintune No they do, it's actual the audience who fails to understand that movies are fictional and work on tropes, no physics, to craft a more entertaining story, because reality is boring as fuck 99% of the time, hence why we make movies.
Master39
Well no shit. That's how marketing works. It lies to you so you buy the thing it's selling. Or do you really think Nike shoes improve your basketball playing by any markable amount?

Not to mention that they ignore Newton’s first law. Seriously, she managed to catch him. He’s not in any danger of floating off into space after that. 🤦♂️
Dislike the script all you like, but anyone calling this boring has no adrenal glands.
It was thrilling and visually outstanding. Film is a visual medium first and foremost, and i'm glad that people like Cuarón and Malick still understand this.
I wouldn't say thrilling but your right on the visuals
