    I cried to this video today. Mostly because you said “focusing on feeling good” instead of wanting to be skinnier... and I never thought of it that way because of how uncomfortable I am at my weight. This video made me happy. Thank you. ☀️

      Loved this video!
      Questions: 1. What do you do when your body hits a plateau?
      2. How did you ignore cravings? (sweets)

    • @LoveSweatFitness
      @LoveSweatFitness  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Britt, When you hit a plateau you need to switch things up! Try different workouts, change the meals you are eating, etc. I try not to ignore the cravings, but find substitutes for them that are healthier. Check out some of the recipes on my blog for great swaps

    It's wonderful how warm and sincere you are about sharing your story, too. I think that's the most motivating part. Like you said there are many trainers out there but watching your video feels like listening to a friend. And focusing on health and not just the size is so important! Thank you : )

      ***** I am so glad to hear that! I know the struggles of getting healthy/fit first hand and want to help others sort through all of it best as possible :) It was the coolest thing when I stopped focusing on the size to just be healthy, I actually got the size I wanted, without having to obsess over it! xoxo

    I'm 15 turning 16, 5'5, and 155 pounds. most of my weight is in my stomach and thighs. I have been on and off eating healthy I always lose motivation but I just started again and I'm eating healthy and I made an exercise schedule. I want to weigh about 130, and I'm gonna do it!

    • @sebasapereira
      @sebasapereira 9 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Brittany Green I lost weight just counting calories.. seriously all the shit about eating healthy is bullshit. Im a dude so my calories are supposed to be 1500 or below, not sure about woman, I believe its 1200. but seriously Ill have like an iced coffee and plain croissant from dunking donuts around 1 as my breakfast and eat again at 7 or 8 and that will by my dinner and use the rest of my calories. thats how I lost all the weight I needed too without giving up the food I love and I didnt exercise at all. You can try it out. depending on how strict you are with the diet youll be able to lose up to 3 pounds a week. I lost the 23 pounds I needed to lose in a little over a month and a half and everyone told me it would take 3 months and I'm perfectly healthy

      +sebasupreme that's not very healthy though. You don't get good nutrition (vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, fiber, omega 3, proper amounts of carbs, fat & protein, etc) from foods like coffee and croissants. Also 1500 is way too little for a guy, that's basically anorexia... hopefully you increase that to a normal calorie intake once you are at the weight you want.

    Our stories are very similar. Only difference is, I didn't become a trainer! One day I threw myself down onto my bed (in front of my husband) crying and upset that my work pants didn't fit and I felt terrible. That was my aha moment. I felt lethargic and didn't like the way I felt or looked. I knew HOW to eat healthy and exercise, but couldn't stay motivated. I've tried several "diets." I originally got back on track by following body for life and using a free nutrition app. Just making small changes made me feel better, and was enough motivation to keep going. I started at 180 lbs and I'm only 5'3". Currently my weight is anywhere between 145 and 155, but I have a lot of muscle now. Your story has encouraged me and I love your fitness videos. I'm always looking for fresh new ideas. :)

    Thank you for sharing your story! I've been in the same boat. Working out for 4 months straight then getting hurt or sick and not working out for a long time. Weight goes up and down. This year has been brutal because it would be one thing after another and then I just wouldn't work out. I use to think the same things (that I wanted to be skinny) but lately my way of thinking has changed to I want to be healthy and feel great. I found out that there is a lot of inflammation showing in my blood work and my CRP is through the roof. This is now motivating me to really change my diet and start working out. I am so happy I came across your video today and really enjoyed watching it. Everything you said hit so close to home for me. I'm going to go check out the rest of your videos now! You have inspired me! Thank you :)

    I just want to say, you are so brave. Coming from someone with a similar backstory (diet fads but eating disorder as well) I think it's amazing that you tell your story. It really gives me inspiration to continue in a pattern of eating healthy to FEEL good, not just to be skinny. I also wanted to tell you that, it's been hard to stick with exercise, but your videos alone have gotten me back into it and made me love exercising again! You are all I watch in terms of exercise videos, and I just love your workouts so much! You are so relatable, fun, and encouraging and you've single-handedly motivated my lazy butt! So thank you so much for all you to make your videos for us - and even more, thank you for telling your story. You are truly an inspiration. God bless.

    Katie! Thank you for being so candid. Women of all sizes can relate to the feelings of obsessing over being 'skinny' and the way that food makes us feel. We don't all have the courage to be honest with the entire world about our deepest darkest personal times, but we owe it to our bodies to be honest with OURSELVES. Keep it up LSF team, never give up!

    Love it. I can totally connect to the emotional change when you're not happy in your own body. I was about 118 before I had my first son and I'm now about 140, which isnt a huge difference but it's hard to accept me the way I am. I have decided to start working out regularly and I'm loving your LSF challenges. I just want to be happy with my body, and like you said not the number or clothing size.

    Really connected with what you said in this video. I've had 4 kids in 5 years (one was a set of twins!) and I've been yo-yoing for a while due to stress. I love what you said about just being healthy and not thinking so much about my body or size....just be healthy and feel good! I don't have much to lose but feel this is a good step in the right direction for me! Thanks so much Katie! 😘💗

      +get pretty with laura I have had 4 kids in 4 years!! none, twins so i have literally had no breaks! it is discouraging to have your body stretch, and scar, the stress it takes on you is so hard! but truly it is SO easy to start loving yourself when you truly start treating your body as a temple! and as hard as it is to get time to yourself, find it! Our kids deserve happy, healthy mama's! Good luck on your journey ❤

    Yes, love this! I had a similar revelation last night. I thought to myself, the reason I am enjoying this journey of better nutrition and working out because it's my own plan. Yes, I am taking ideas from other plans but ultimately I am doing what works for me. I know what I should and shouldn't eat, I don't need a plan to tell me that so it's definitely more fun to stick to your own plan. Do what works for you!!

    Thanks so much for sharing Katie!! I 100% agree that it's more about how you feel than anything! I've been trying to lose weight for about two years and I went through various stages where I was doing really well and exercising regularly for a month or two until I would plateau. That's basically what's happened the past two years until recently. One day, a few months ago, I just felt so uncomfortable in my body. I hated the way I felt and I felt trapped in my body. That's when it all changed for me. I realized that I couldn't live like that anymore. It was the beginning of the year so I made a resolution to be able to run a mile (just one) by the end of the year, so I started running. It was super rough and at first, all I could do was run a minute at a time, but the more I did it, the better I felt. Even though it was hard, I loved how I felt after so I kept going and now, I now I can run two! I am losing weight pretty slowly, but I'm fine with it because I've never felt better! I still want to hit the range weight for my height (I'm 4'11.5), but it's less about that and more about wanting to feel good and learn to love exercising. Loving it is the key because if you love it, you'll stick with it. Thanks for sharing!

      Noel D A very heavily calorie and carb restricted diet of fewer than 1,500 per day. 60 minutes of cardio on either treadmill or elliptical. Upper body (3 sets dumbbell press)
      (3 sets rows) on sunday, tuesday, and thursday. Lower body (3 sets leg press) (3 sets weighted squats on monday, wednesday, and friday. Saturday is rest day and cheat day. (Cheat day is important, even if you store some fat, as it will train your metabolism to be faster and much of the excess calories will turn to muscle since you spent all week tearing up your muscles, not letting them build back all week because of restricted carbs and cals. So it acts like a carb-refuel. Don't worry, the fat stored will go away as you excersize the next week, and then some. And the cheat day puts an objective in sight and something to life for, making the diet bearable.) Watch out, though, you will lose 70+ pounds (Should you need to) in less than 6 months if you follow this, so prepare to have some ugly looking loose skin, a problem I'm currently dealing with.

    I really enjoyed watching this, a lot of weight loss videos can make women feel shame about their bodies but this video is actually really empowering. It's nice to be told to go with how you feel and not the scales, and to put fitness before being skinny.

      @LoveSweatFitness  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hanarchyyy You are SO right! There shouldn't be any shame, just positive encouragement to be healthier for YOU. It's hard not to focus on the scale, but once you let that go...it really sets you free and on the way to being real healthy...not "on a diet" :)

    For years I've gone on and off on diets and exercise, heading to the gym, picking up pintrest diets and it all work and I lost maybe 10 pounds in two months. And then all of a sudden I would gain it all back in two weeks because I wasn't consistent. I only did my previous diets to look pretty to feel pretty and be skinny like others. Like you said I was so worried about having my body like somebody else's and worrying about mine. I never wanted to be healthy but rather be skinny and thinking that way never worked. Watching this video made me realize so much about not having to worry about others body and their weight but worrying about how healthy you are and slowly you will loose weight and get the body you wanted in the first place without knowing it. You've inspired me to keep going and not give up because of this video and you gained a new subscriber. Hopefully in the next three months I can comment again in one of your videos saying I lost so and so pounds while being healthy

    Just found your channel 2 days ago!! I don't have a huge weight loss story, but I have found the only thing that makes me look and feel my best is consistent exercise and clean eating. I just have treats and cheat meals maybe 1-2 a week. Meal prepping on Sunday's helps me set myself up for a good week too,

    By far, the best weight loss story I've encountered. Thank you so much for inspiring me to focus on my overall health rather than looking a certain way. I've always wanted to lose weight because I can't wear the clothes I want or because I'm not bold enough to wear a bikini in public especially with my chubby figure. But I think losing weight to me would mean a lot more than image and I cannot wait to start my journey after finals!!!This vlog is a good example of losing weight because you love your body, not because you hate it. So now I'm wanting to exercise and lose some weight. I'm 5ft 4 in. You seem like a great and wonderful person thanks for sharing the videos and your tips in losing weight, eating the right foods are getting a little better but it's hard with sugar though ,I use it in coffee everyday and soda not good for you I know and I need more water to drink but it's hard since it has no flavor . I need to do something .I do yoga and some exercises everyday so that's a start. Thank you.

    This is really great. She realized something a lot of people glaze over. Humans needs to be active. We gain weight not because it is natural but because we aren't acknowledging our existence as mobile individuals. Cars, televisions, airplanes, all of these things have made people forget that they can get off of their couches and find things to do in their daily lives to live healthier in general.

    This is exactly how it happend to me! It took me 2 years to lose 40 pounds. Some weeks 1 pound off some none at all. But like you said, you start gaining muscle. I kept it off for a good 2 years but then I went thru depression, so I gained 20 back. I'm started back again and doing exactly as you said cause it is exactly what I did too years ago. People looking for quick fixes and immediate results are not going to get it. Slow and steady wins the race :)

    This is AWESOME! And I like the fact that you aren't afraid to build muscle, as most girls seem to think that they are going to look like pro-bodybuilders who are on a bunch of male hormones. They fear putting on weight, because it's only promoted to lose weight and train abs. In your before picture, you weighed as much as I did just before I started lifting. I'm a dude, so it just makes your progress more mind-blowing to me. No doubt you've probably influenced a bunch of people with this video. Respect.

    I always struggled with my weight since I was young and only found results when I would do unhealthy things like crash diets and always gained it back. Then I developed some major female health issues in my early 30s that left me severely anemic and out of shape because I hadn't been able to be active for several years. I finally got a hysterectomy this spring to fix the problem and I've been loving the feeling of getting my strength back and taking advantage of my second chance at life- my iron levels are back up, I've healed from my surgery, and I've been gradually increasing my activity. I started slow with short daily walks that turned into longer walks that turned into hiking, weight lifting, yoga, and fitness videos I find on TH-cam- including yours!! I haven't lost much weight yet but I've gained notable strength & stamina. I also went clean & organic with my diet. I think weight loss results are around the corner but for now it feels great to be strong, happy & healthier!

The only thing that really helped me was when I had to change my diet for my health and not for being skinny bec once that event that I tried to lose weight for is over I go back to not caring about fitness or diet. I only recently found a passion for it after I did it for my health and not to be skinny.

    I was so happy to find this and your hypo video you just posted! I was just diagnosed with hypo last October!!!! I had a horrible 2017 and that was why! I still have about 20lbs to loose. I was going strong and working out and eating pretty good but the weight just was and is not falling off. :( It's super discouraging for me to get back into working out....I eat all those veggie that you mentioned not to eat :/ Oh dear!

      Every body is different, but those are ones that typically are much harder on the body to digest with hypo.

    Hey beautiful! Your story is sooo inspiring and I love your channel! Question- have you ever or do you count macros? Also, you should do full day of eating videos! Or day in the life!!!
    You're awesome!
    Thanks for sharing

      Aw thank you so much!! I have counted macros. I think they can be a great way to get a general idea of what and how much your body needs a day. I don't think it is a good way to plan to live life, but for a few weeks it's super helpful to educate yourself :)
      Aw thanks girl!! I kinda do that on snap chat, but maybe a full video soon!

    I just found your channel recently and I love your workouts! I was curious what you think of intermittent fasting?

      Hey Heather! So happy you are loving it. I personally do it, not crazy strict, but my body has always kinda worked better starting eating later. It's not for everyone, but can definitely have some benefits for some:)

      +Alisha McDonald Hey Alisha! So glad you found my video too :) You will seriously see and feel a major difference when you change how you think about weight loss. It seemed totally backwards to me at first, but a weight gets lifted off your shoulders. The best part is when you see the results of living a healthy and balanced life. Keep me posted on your progress!!

    I love this. I've been so depressed by the way I look because I was skinny and then I gained all this weight. This video just made me want to work my butt off to feel better. Thank you!

    Hi Katie, I love your journey. It's so realistic and relatable, and your transformation is amazing! I feel that I struggle mainly with nutrition especially because of the constraints of time and money, but I do limit my sugar intake and watch what I eat but I do not loose much. Do you have any tips on nutrition for someone with very little time and tight on money? Thanks!
