Sure, the Megane RS ist fast on the track, but you have to admit that it lacks on the straight road. Not more, not less. Even on GPS both cars are nearly the same in acceleration. Tested in several german magazine’s (AMS Supertest for example), it has not the full power that is claimed by Renault... So the exact opposite of VAG, they always have more hp and torque than claimed. And I really like to know how many Megane RS-Drivers actually max out their car on the road before getting feared in the corners😉 I for myself like the Octavia RS TSI, own one with 230hp.. fast enough, space enough for the family, reliable aswell👍🏻 Just my 2Cents, peace to all✌️
Not sure how 280 Megane performs against the Octavia RS, but the 300 Trophy smokes it in the straight line. Tested many times on the Autobahn. But it's true, the early Megane 280 was barely faster than Clio RS 220 Trophy.
Instead of looking at a speedometer video which has many factors such as wind speed tyre choice weight onboard the better thing to do would be a direct drag race

Mileage is not an issue here. This Megane RS with 7 gear twin (dual) clutch has different gear ratio (1st to 2nd 4000rpm) compared to 6 gear manual version (1st to 2nd 4.600rpm) and, quite unexpectedly, delivers weaker performance. Bottom line, when 6 gear manual Megane RS is at 200km/h, this 7 gear twin-clutch is at 187km/h.
Strangely my Megane RS 280 EDC has a 6 speed ... the A110 is 7 speed. And mileage is an issue the first few thousands of km .... an engine needs to be driven in properly .. not just slam the throttle.

New 2018 Renault Megane RS 280 EDC should, by numbers: a) 50kg lighter, b) 50HP & 40Nm stronger, c) 0,8 sec 0-100km/h faster ...simply swipe out Škoda Octavia VRS 230. But, it does not. Besides, it takes ages for Megane RS to reach 250km/h. Now, isn't that weird?

The RS megane has 275bhp btw, the Skoda dynos about 240bhp. Not much in it. Anyway there is a video from "Fifth Gear" youtube channel, they had a drag race and the RS was faster than the Skoda and better around the track so this arguement has already been closed.
Idiot, difference between speedo and real speed: VW: from 100 km/h -> 7kmh and from 160 km/h ~14 km/h Renault: from 60 km/h to Topspeed constant 3-4 km/h check it yourself ;-)

What exactly are you trying to prove here...this video is pointless. The megane accelerated faster but the skoda has a better top end due to gearing.
