Awesome job ! I hear you with the brush to fill in the stone . Yes do what’s needed to the eye , be creative and you’ll love and appreciate your doings . I’ve done the same , I over sanded because I like counter smooth and I redone or applied more stone … once happy two coat of clear … would I do this again ABSOLUTELY ! I choose or better yet my daughter chose Bright White . Beautiful.
While I did pick up a couple of tips, it would be more helpful if you when doing a DIY video if you actually demonstrate how you did it, instead of just talking about what you did after it's done. It's too bad, because I really like your laid-back style. Your project looks very nice. I just finished my first coat of stone, and I agree that it looks like the flecks of stone are patchy. I will try a paint brush for the second coat. Also, I'm considering doing the peel and stick tile 🤞. It looks good, but I will have to find another video showing how to do it. Thank you.
Thanks for pointing out the stone coat is more of a colored epoxy with the chips suspended in it. None of the videos pointed that out. Or the fact the roller doesn't work. I found out the hard way just now.
@@wizardofwoz8864 I'm not seeing "Oyster" as a color option any longer on the Daich website. Did they discontinue or change the color name, do you know? www.daichcoatings.com/spreadstone_countertop_kit.html
@@wills1mudder I ordered that kit from Home Depot. I just searched for it and it came right up www.homedepot.com/p/DAICH-SpreadStone-Mineral-Select-1-qt-Oyster-Countertop-Refinishing-Kit-4-Count-DCT
@@wills1mudder Hey sorry I erased part of the link because I figured it would found it. If you just search Daich on the home Depot website it comes up.
So, i stopped watching half way in because your video does not show the exact process u used. Why not show us how u applied the primer, the top coat, etc. The how to is most important to many of us.

How many kits did it take?
I believe I just bought one kit. It covered pretty well. I got the kit from Home Depot. The coverage specs are in the description on the website.
@@wizardofwoz8864 thanks!
What color did you use?
The color is called oyster

I bought Onyx Fog and will be doing it next week
Hey buddy, getting ready to use this on my counters in Myrtle..... great to see you... good tips.... Love Doris
I am getting ready to do mine, glad you mentioned getting all the caulk removed. My color is going to be Coriander Cream. Yours looks great
Really great instructions and tips! You did a great job.
Looks great good job.
Sorry it took me a couple months to respond. But the countertops are holding up great. No problems or concerns at all
How have they held up?
Hey Angela
The countertops are holding up pretty good. We have had to touch up the cabinets but we have 2 little girls so that is to be expected.
My countertop is a lot darker. I wonder how many layers I'll need?
I’m doing clear coat now. Looks to be pot marked like the Daich videos. Did you do any extra seal coats or sanding between coating?
What color did you use on this? It looks great!
Angie Henderson
Thanks! The color that we picked is oyster.

how is this holding up?
Hey Breanna it's holding up very good. No complaints or regrets at all.
one small area looks like the primer didn't stick well to it?
8 months since you did this project. (Beautiful)
How is it holding up?
if chatter boxing was a sport, he'd be the champ. Give me back my 15 minutes.
A couple of people have asked how this has held up. I'm thinking about using it in all of my bathrooms. Looks great and appreciate your feedback!!

The Daich company has put out a few excellent SpreadStone How To videos on TH-cam. Just search for them.
