pulled the trigger on this project, it came out great !! I added a wooden bull nose on my edges so I had a more rounded edge, that worked great. Thanks for your video.
Thank You! When I opened the cans and saw the consistency I thought maybe something was wrong since I had it in my garage for over a year. Your video gave us a realistic view of what it takes to do this and I’m excited to get started. Your video should be on the company website, leagues better than the crap they posted! Y’all Rock 🔥🔥🔥
This is the same color I put on the counter in both of our homes. It's awesome and a lot more sensible than spending $5,000 on new countertops. Thank you for the tip on removing the tape after the stone is put on but before it dries. I just did my second countertop and I waited on the removal of the tape on the first counter and that was a mistake.
Thank you for your video. I just received my package with Daich counter kit in the same color as video. I watched about a week ago. Now I'm going to follow this video to get it right. Thanks again 👍
I absolutely love these products. I use them all over the place. Had extra left over from a counter top project so painted a laundry detergent pod holder and it looks like a stone vase....
Ive enjoyed this very entertaining & thorough tutorial you guys did on the Daich countertop kit!! I purchased the Onynx Fog & really like it I think 😂It’s definitely helpful having two people & I have worked alone! Wanted to tell you all great job on project & also helping so many with your precise instructional video! It’s a lot of work but as you said beats paying 4000+ for replacing countertops!!
thanks so much for the tips in this.More info and tips than the product company one. Just did the prime/stone coat in onyx fog today. Our ancient green 70's kitchen already looks magic! Can't wait for the top coat. Excellent video.
Thanks for the video! We've been working on remodeling projects in my husband's old house for over 4 years now! Things we never thought we could do ourselves, like tearing out 3 layers of nasty linoleum down to concrete in the kitchen, treating it, and laying down new self stick lino tile, which came out fabulous! Then we tore up the floor in the adjoining laundry room and remodeled it completely!! After also doing 2 bathrooms, we're pros now! LOL!! Counter tops were one thing I wanted to have done by a professional, but after this, we're gonna go for it ourselves!! We have about 54 sq ft of counter (including kitchen bar), so 2 kits, but $250 beats $4,000+ any day!! 👍
Excellent video y'all. Covered most everything with no time wasted watching paint dry. Your sense of humor helps the job seem a bit less intimidating to me. TU. Turned out beautiful.
The great thing about these products, is after a few years, you just sand the clearcoat and reapply new clearcoat. Want a new color? No problem, just a few days work and a couple hundred dollars, instead of a couple thou. Going to do my kitchen probably this winter after hearing about this on the radio yesterday. Will probably use their high gloss countertop clearcoat, which is supposed to make your countertop look like polished stone.
no worries! I used this and applied it haphazardly to see how much I could mess up and it still looked great ! this stuff is amazing! and it washes out with water. My countertops are indestructible .
I had my kit for 2 years, and I let it sit by the heat register, and it was easier to mix up, make sure you blend it completely - I am sanded and ready to clean up and clear coat! sAME COLOR AS THIS VID
Thanks so much for this video. I was having a hard time knowing for sure if this kit was actually good or if people had just been paid to say so, haha. Your counters look great!
I just did mine a few days ago. I had enough left over to do both bathrooms too. Only problem I had was removing the tape...I had to use a razor blade. I pulled a little coating off with the tape. Easy fix though..I just used a Q-Tip. I think I'm gonna use that sealer on it every year or so to help it last longer
It came out great, you did a great job. My concern is durability. The negative reviews for this product mostly seem to be about water staining it or it not adhering. I usually chalk those up to not doing it right in the first place.
Thanks for the tutorial, it was. Definitely helpful. Our treatment looks amazing. Brand new. Both the base coat and the stone coat were not lumpy but thick. Wonder why?
In the process of doing this now. Just finished the 2nd coat of base coat. Instructions said a thin coat of the base, but once finishing the 1st coat, it seemed too thin so we did a slightly thicker 2nd coat.
For anyone checking out this video, definitely a good product. Did countertop in my laundry. Version I used had following layers: primer, stone (two coates), epoxy, then a finish layer (maybe polyurethane). I ended up doing two layers of epoxy since finish wasn't smooth enough. I'd say that was user error though.
Can this be used on any type of countertop and does it come in a variety of colors? PS I love people that put this out there to help us people that live on a budget. Thank you!
Great video ! Thank you ! BTW, what kind of plastic paint cover did you use ? I saw you rolled it over the cabinets. If possible could you give me a link for it ?
I just watched the countertop video that you posted 1 year ago. I'd like to know if you're still pleased with the surface. Does it still look nice? Have you had any troubles with wear or heat damage (coffeemaker, crockpot, toaster, etc). Thanks for posting your video. It gave me an option to consider until I make a decision to actually go all-in and renovate my kitchen.
It does still look nice! Probably closer to 2 years now. No damage or hot spots but we always use hot pads under pans. My son owns the house now and he is still pleased with the counter tops too. We will be doing this in our master bath soon as i can work it in to my chore list!
@@ChrisFunktheFeralOne Thanks a bunch for replying. I'm going to start getting my ducks in a row and maybe I'll be ready to start my project spring or early summer. I hope my countertops will look as nice as yours but your level of skill is quite a bit higher than mine. Oh well, if I goof up really bad, I'll just pay a contractor to gut my mess and build a new kitchen for me - easy fix, right? (or sell my house to a fixer upper flipper). Thanks also for uploading your video.
Depending on the underlying material, with this product, you could probably get away with it, though you may have to do some fill and sand prior to priming.
Still looks like the day we finished it. My son bought the house from us and lives there now, we will be doing it in the master bath of the new house soon!

Thank you so much for posting this video, and especially by steps! This give me more confidence to venture into the same improvement project.
Great video guys and I'm so glad you mentioned going to church too. 👍
Thanks! If you do another one, please show the rolling process for the first step with that thick stuff!

Thanks for all the little tips from your process - they helped us immensely in our countertop refinish!
Thank you for video! I am getting ready to buy the onyx fog to do my kitchen countertops! I am nervous to do them but ready for a change!

This video was so helpful!! Looks great
It looks really nice a lot better than I anticipated. Good Job!
I just try this on my bar counter top and is the best easy DIY product I have use. Thanks for the video and the advice on what to expect.
Great Job! As you say $125 versus $4000....it's a NO BRAINER!
Thanks for the review, I ordered this and was just waiting for it to arrive when I found your video. Thanks so much!
Y'all did a great job! We're doing ours next week.

This is almost 6 years old now and still holds up well!
Thank you for this GREAT video. I'm drawing my plans out now for my kitchen!
Thank you for this review, it's perfect and sealed the deal for me to give it a try!
Beautiful! Great video
I like your video for that dust you can use a vacuum and put it on .the sander is made to accommodate a vacuum hose
thats what I will do.... buy a sander that attached to a vacuum
Looks great. Thanks for the review, these videos really help when researching
Looks awesome! I want to try this!
Thanks for the tutorial, it was. Definitely helpful. Our treatment looks amazing. Brand new. Both the base coat and the stone coat were not lumpy but thick. Wonder why?
Watching this, I am going to try my bathroom counter first.
me too! I painted them last week with chalk paint and waxed them, they look great.
In the process of doing this now. Just finished the 2nd coat of base coat. Instructions said a thin coat of the base, but once finishing the 1st coat, it seemed too thin so we did a slightly thicker 2nd coat.
great advice! Thanks
It looks great. Definitely going to do this. Saved thousands of dollars.
You all did a awesome job my wife and I are going to do our also keep up the good work and send more video really enjoy. 👍
I can't wait to try this. Somewhere in the process the phrase ''buzzards butthole'' is going to pop into my head and give some humor to the project!

That is the lux stone version..I was wanting to do an epoxy poured top but I know my counter is not completely level so I plan on doing this.
It looks so good. I just ordered the Natural White. I can’t wait to get it in and try it.
Y'all are adorable! Thanks for the veedio!
Did y'all say which color this is and I just missed it?

Great Job! Will this work over cultured marble!
Looks really nice
Totally impressive! 💪🏻
Great job & inspiring video! What did you guys use to patch weird spots & cracks? If you mentioned it I sure missed it lol
Can this be used on any type of countertop and does it come in a variety of colors? PS I love people that put this out there to help us people that live on a budget. Thank you!
Dust is lessened if connected to a shopvac while sanding. But it's still sanding and still dusty...
Great work Thanks for your honest review..
Awesome, looks just like stone
This is the best videos. It's 2022 and my question is how does it hold up as far as tinging yellow?
no coloration change and no chipping. my son owns the house now and has no issues. hope this helps!
Looks so nice!! Which Color is this kit?
Thanks for sharing this helpful video!
Loved this video!!!
Great video ! Thank you !
BTW, what kind of plastic paint cover did you use ? I saw you rolled it over the cabinets.
If possible could you give me a link for it ?
It is at home depot or lowes in the paint section. A section of plastic sheeting with tape on a roll. Sho nuff handy!
Looks nice! Loved the narration! 😂
Great job!!!! Thanks for the vid. :)
Beautiful outcome!! Which color did us?
Thank you! This was the oyster color, we are very pleased!

its beautiful...what color did you use
Looks good. Come back in a few months and report durability?
I have, several times pat, still looks great, 2 years old now!
5 years later report? Thanks, I am considering doing the same thing...
It still looks great! My son owns that house now.
After watching several vids I think it’s best to router any 90 degree edges so it’s rounded.
Depending on the underlying material, with this product, you could probably get away with it, though you may have to do some fill and sand prior to priming.
Doing it now, thnx for the help
Doing it now Thax for the help
Wow! Great job you guys! Thank you!!!
Its nearly two years later. How's it holding up? We're about to do this same kit in the next week or two.
Still looks like the day we finished it. My son bought the house from us and lives there now, we will be doing it in the master bath of the new house soon!
so its been 2 years is this still holding up ? any chips cracks or scratches?? Please update doing this in a few days!
still looks great. my son owns the house now and has no issues!
Great vid! Will router countertop edge first.
What do you mean by this?
