Honestly I think Theros block has some pretty good options. Pretty much all of the gods are relevant in the format, and there's also just neat legendaries like King Macar.
This is a super neat idea for a video series. Despite a fair amount of conversation about power creep in Commander, few content creators address the issue in a concrete, measurable manner. I'd love if you did Alara block next, because there are a lot of "classic Boogeymen" like Sen Triplets, Mayael, and Uril. It'd be interesting to see how far the format has come since then!
I love it! Older stuff tends to get overlooked nowadays with the sheer glut of cards coming out, so it's nice to see some love the old school. Out of the three of these. I would say Tibor and Lumia are the most interesting to me because of how much they change up the typical spellslinger strategy. Spellslinger decks normally have trouble answering mass token strategies outside of a few specific cards, so having an answer on your commander is a great option with how popular that type of deck is. Also, since you can make any creature flying; not just your own; you can pick and choose what lives and dies. The political ramifications are terrifying... I would love to see a full deck tech of a build for it from you Wedge!
I really love the cycle with Ulasht and co. Each guild got a legend that did a cool thing with cards that had at least one of the colors of the guild but were amplified if that card was both. It’s such a cool thing to be able to reward greater investment without outright punishing a strategy that plays the two colors on separate cards.
Personally I think it's cooler if someone manages to win with commanders that aren't as common/strong as modern design. Also enchanting tibor and lumia with Charisma turns the sweeping damage into a mass mind control effect
I’ve bought boxes and built playable commanders just from the booster box. Did this with commander legends. Made pirate tribal with Zara. 😂 also have a sweet Jan Jansen artifact deck that once beat a Trostani deck with -72 life plat angel always pulls through.
Have actually built an Ulasht deck before, was a really fun deck. But that was about 2 years after commander became popular so it's been awhile. Maybe I'll rebuld it someday.
The other two sets in OG Ravnica block would be cool. Time spiral, planar chaos, and future sight could also be fun. Honestly I want to see this kind of video for commanders that came out between Champions of Kamigawa and Dragons of Tarkir (inclusive)
This is something I can get behind. Mainly because it gives lost commanders a chance to be spotlit as they normally get overshadowed by stronger creep. I say keep going and make this a mainstay man!!
I was trying to figure a deck for ulasht for some time...the main problem is why you would need it specifically? It does not feel much like a build around (to me)...it can plataform as a token if you use fungal sprouting and feed the pack effects, but aren't many of these around...
This is a great video and would love to see other sets getting a video. The Theros block sets or the other Ravnica sets would be cool to see, giving the older legends the spotlight they need for players who might not know they exist. (Also I am now considering making a Tibor and Lumia control deck that only plays flyers so most of the spells can be red and constantly wipe the board)
I'd say yes, these commanders are definitely still viable. especially if you want a break from all the supplementary products that have been coming out lately. I'm thinking of making an Orzhov Superfriends deck with Teysa at the helm
f n love your intro homes , just going on the title any commander is playable haha just play it and stuff anything in the deck , I did it with this ick teckk golem trible doood and won once ........never again but the first game I had some shit
Lol. I have a melek storm deck. Nothing compares to copying turnabout 3-4 times to untap and float a huge pool of mana to multi kick comet storm nuking the table for 100+ damage.
Let me know which sets you'd like me to showcase in this way! Part 2 of Guildpact is coming this weekend

I'd love to see a deeper dive on some Alara block legends!
Dark Ascension gets forgotten between Innistrad and Avacyn's Return.
Lorwyn/Shadowmoor
I'd love to see homelands 🤣 just cause

Ulasht has a fun detail that it can ping your own creatures which can be used for ixalan dinosaurs.
Its good to have you back Wedge!!!!

I personally Love my Tibor and Lumia deck (the og team up card xD)
Tibor and Lumia was the second deck I helped a friend build. He passed it on to his brother, really great deck for beginners.
Love my Teysa deck.

veyrann and melek, casting banefire off the top for more than 5 is so good

Ulasht is an old favorite. Gotta love when playing Stangg gives you 4 +1/+1s by itself! Also ulasht is besties with my boy Thromok!!
Stonebrow Krosan Hero is always in the back of my mind
Tibor and Lumia is my favorite deck. I just wish they had flying.
Please do Savra.
These are also good for preDH
You're back!!

Your intro is super loud compared to everything else
And it’s a banger. I want an extended version 🎉
