    In addition to drinking more water, I've had to also increase my salt intake... Finding out that salt is necessary to the dehydration process. If you drink too much water and don't have enough sodium and potassium. You literally can drown yourself and still be dehydrated.
    And you can kick the high blood pressure spike by increasing your water , salt and especially potassium...
    You need 4700 mg of potassium every day! And 1500 to 2500 mg of salt daily as well.
    When I transitioned into menopause I went from 125 over 80 to 170 over 106! Started adding the salt, the water and the potassium. I'm back down to about 125 to 130 over 80

    I live at 6700 feet in elevation. Here’s what I’ve learned about water and hydration.
    Structure your water. Structured water is far more hydrating than water right out of the tap. A quick way to somewhat structure water is to add a pinch of salt and stir vigorously into a vortex. My water always sits on the counter for 24 hours before I drink it.
    If you drink the recommended amount of water daily, you could easily be depleting your body of necessary minerals and nutrients. I always put some sort of electrolyte mix into my water.
    Carbohydrates will make you retain water. When I do a keto diet, I cannot stay hydrated. Smaller more frequent sips are better than larger less frequent drinking do not drink large amounts of water with food. Good luck ❤

      It is important to eat salt, especially with low blood pressure. Avoid processed foods with added salt and avoid refined tablet salt but it is important to eat sea salt or rock salt. Our bodies do need some salt!

    My top tip to try and increase the amount of water I drink is I add a fruity tea bag to my water bottle to make it more interesting to drink and I do the same to fizzy water too

      Absolutely, Marise! Falling oestrogen can cause dehydration and this can cause many symptoms such as dizziness, light headedness, palpitations, nausea and even joint pain. It is really important to try and drink 1.5 litres of plain water every day.

    I add in a very low sugar electrolyte drink a few times a week also.
    Because I drink at least 100 ounces a day of water and am always told I am dehydrated. Makes no sense 😢

      You could try drinking warm water instead of cold or room temperature water. This is a tip from ayurveda for when you are dehydrated despite drinking enough water. You can also add a small amount of salt and honey to your water for natural electrolytes.

    Yes I all of a sudden have acid reflex, I have a bottle of water in the bathroom now for in the morning and at night. My mental problem is, we shouldn't drink water from plastic bottles, the house I have has old pipes and people talk about lead in the water. I can't just go buy a Britta filtration system, so i sometimes go a week without water, I do get it from foods but then it's not enough, I also will drink a small juice glass of an electrolyte. I need to stop listening to the outside clutter.

    • @AvogelCoUk
      @AvogelCoUk  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I know it can be so confusing with so much advice coming from so many different places. Water from plastic bottles is better than no water at all. Going a week without water will cause so many problems and make you feel really crappy so if you need to drink water from plastic bottles then don't feel guilty just recycle them! Hydration is so important!
