@@GatorRay I think I read somewhere that Johnny, Matt, and Elliot do plan on finishing those unfinished LPs before officially ending SGB. Don't forget, the pandemic threw a serious wrench into their plans to end SGB in 2020.

@Spaceman Alph I mean, Bowser's Fury is basically the love child of Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, so it's not really a test run for a new type of Mario game.
I just hope it's not used for a new Mario & Luigi game. Mario RPGs are something that I feel should've died after Sticker Star crashed & burned.

@@cherylsanders5538 Because Mario RPGs have only been going downhill since Sticker Star came out (FOR THE MOST PART. I do think Superstar Saga + Bowser's Minions is better than the original but even that has a tacked on new mode) Dream Team was bloated and while I haven't played Paper Jam it looks like the textbook definition of playing it safe. And DON'T GET ME STARTED ON THE 3DS VERSION OF BOWSER'S INSIDE STORY! That was a downgrade in pretty much every regard IMHO.

i love how the plot of Bowser's Fury is that Jr. tried to play a prank on his dad while he was sleeping, but he used the Magic Paintbrush for that and it all went downhill
Personally, I think the cause of conflict was still a little too silly, but at least it was more believable than.Color Splash's. Seriously, Bowser splashes in a pool of rainbow paint like a child just because he wants a colorful shell.

Technically you can play every mainline Mario game up until Super Mario World in online multiplayer via Nintendo Switch Online.
Don't know about the rest of it , but the Windows 98 stuff is Legacy implementation which is pretty standard in most technology, even if not always desired.

Legacy support is a very common thing. After all, it's even the reason why Windows went from 8 to 10.

The main reason why Nintendo's online suck is because their Netcode is a rollback one (probably because it's easier to program) meaning that if one person has a bad connection, it will affect everyone still. Maybe it's not the whole story but it's a better explanantion than "it references Windows 95!1!1 LOL!".
Nintendo does plenty of stuff wrong but it would be nice if people critize them for those things in particular instead of making up random scenarios or using unrelated facts.
Why does legacy support like that exist though? It seems pointless in the examples given and even caused Windows 9 to not be able to exist.

By adding in all of these legacy support parts it allows for people to use Programs and Hardware that were made for older OS Generations and be recognized by both without any finagling. If you were using a Fax machine that only recognizes Windows 98, it can still be used with a Windows 10 machine thanks to Legacy support.

or hell… They can do like what they did with cloud, and give him an updated final smash. Make an update where you can have a cat Mario costume, and if you picked the Cat Mario costume, Fury Bowser will be his final smash instead of Giga Bowser. that would be super cool if you ask me. Also they can make a stage based off the lake, and put in his theme.

I would love a 3D World sequel to be done by Toys For Bob (Crash 4 devs), heck regardless of developer, I’d love more Powerups to be added like the Ice Flower or an Electricity based powerup. Heck maybe stick to the world themes but play around with them like a level in the Grass world that takes place in a small forest, the underwater level being set in a lake, a desert world having an oasis level and a wild west level, the beach world having a pirate ship level and a harbor level, the mountain world having a snow level and waterfall level, etc.
Then they would make 100% completion an absolute nightmare

Good point you bring up about how you have to wait for bowser’s fury mode to unlock all the shines. If you aren’t collecting a hidden shine every time he goes into fury mode they can add up on you.

I always wanted mario to actually have an inventory in 3d. That with the almost odyssey gameplay, awesome.
Two things Johnny: One, getting all of the stamps in 3D World is a nightmare, even while playing with other people, and basically amounts to bragging rights (which I frequently abuse). Two, a good way to kill time while waiting for Fury Bowser is to grab the Special cat suit, hop on to one of the lighthouses and farm coins for powerups. It's not much but it helps.
Your chill review style is a great change of pace from the norm 👍🏻

I'm still confused as to how anyone thought that game needed a remake. It's like when Bubsy got a sequel, and TWO of them at that. Did anybody like or praise Ghost and Goblins at all, or was it just a case of "internet personalities made people laugh with their rage towards these games, so there's no such thing as bad publicity"?

The thing about the Windows 98 comment is that a lot of games and online infrastructures still have 98 code buried deep down inside of their DNA (Skyrim/Modern Fallout run off of a modified version of the Morrowind engine)
So it isn't just Nintendo pulling this shit, to their very little credit.
