Favourite Christmas presents - a bunch of Masters of the Universe figures, and then after everything was cleared away my parents 'forgot' another present that was hidden under the stairs and it was the Castle Greyskull playset.
I have done all your walks in my younger years, watching these takes me back........ Best present?? probably a Maj matt Mason and Sgt Storm space station.
Captain Scarlet action figure. I've still got it in my cupboard, I'm 65 and still waiting to grow up. I must go back and do this walk with Zoe, lovely weather. Happy festive cooldude. Keep on walking
I was 'watching' this video while daydreaming and staring at my ceiling and suddenly you started shouting at me that I never look at you when you talk to me! Threw me for a minute, you knew I wasn't paying attention! Sorry Marek! Have a lovely Christmas!
One of my favorite presents to this day was a couple of sets of original polly pocket sized "a bug's life" toys where they had like these miniature little sets and cool things to set up made form tiny things and it was so cool. One this I really wanted but never got was this this like sand that was somehow hydrophobic so like if you used it in water it would act like wet sand for sand castles etc, but if you took it out of the water it would be dry instantly as if it was never in the water at all. It was so weird but neat and I was mesmerized by the concept hehe.
The present I had the most fun with was a chemistry set which I got when I was about 8. Mum wasn't happy when I stained the carpet with a whole tube of 'agent orange'. Setting light to the magnesium ribbon started my fascination with burning stuff. Great days the 70's. Stay cool 👍
A near perfect afternoon's walk, nice one. Always wanted a model rail set - no matter how small - for Xmas but never got one. Probably just as well because it would've been the gateway to spending untold fortunes ceaselessly expanding it and an eventual pauper's grave. Of course the best present ever for any kid born pre-1980 was the 'ticket to freedom' also known as the bicycle.
Got some of the main Star Wars battleships and figures in the mid-eighties Christmases, shared with brothers. Still in my dads loft, but worth less now then what they cost new I'd guess. Never got my BMX with mag wheels though... Walked the Coastal path back in June and this brought a few memories back, mainly searing pain from an ankle tendon issue and extreme heat. Did look very nice there though. Thanks for the vid.
A favourite present was the LEGO Space Monorail set, which was an unexpected final present that year (to be shared with my brother - we just about managed I think). A present that I wanted, but didn't ever receive, was the 'Lazer' Tag shooting game (my parents were extremely anti-violence, to the extent that I maybe didn't even ask for it even though it looked amazing in the TV adverts). Nice one and stay cool
My best Christmas present and also worst christmas memory was when my brother and i got an Amiga computer. We opened it , nearly crying with excitement and then we weren't allowed to play it...at all...until boxing day. Boxing day we had to read all the instructions first and then we were only allowed to play for an hour. 😢 Merry Christmas everyone and especially you, Marek. Thanks for this beautiful little corner of the internet!
That is pretty sadistic not letting you play it until Boxing Day! Have a great Christmas, I hope you are allowed to play with your presents on the actual day this year cool dude.
Aahhhh Fort Victoria my happy place ❤ There was one year I wanted a certain present from about August but for some reason I didn’t get it but received fashion plates instead to this day I can’t remember what I actually wanted!!! Merry Christmas cool dudes
I also wanted one of those Mr. Freeze things when I was a kid! They did a great job of selling it to us in the advert. I did receive a Stretch Armstrong... But one day, it got left in the sun (indoors) and Stretch sprung a leak, with syrup oozing and bubbling from his wound.
Late to the party again. My fave Christmas present as a child was either my Sindy house or my lights alive. My sister had a Mr Frosty(the tight cow never let me play with it). The syrupy stuff to flavour the ice was awful but we convinced ourselves that it was delicious. When it ran out we used squash which was nowhere near as exciting . Looking forward to your Christmas vid. I'm taking Will to some Christmas illuminations tomorrow so I shall have to take the Mareks. Stay cool.
Wow! a Pelham's puppet should be worth a pretty penny now. I have a small one from the 70's...I'm still wishing mum would buy me a Mr Frosty especially as we live in Australia now, and it's hot!!! Merry Christmas and loving your IOW walks. Thank you and stay cool :)
Hi Marek, Happy Holidays and a joyous and prosperous New Year 😊🎉 My favourite present was an old sewing machine, scrap material and some cotton bobbins. The pedal/electric plug didn’t work but you could still sew if you spun the wheel by hand. We weren’t well off so this present was really special. 😊
Beautiful walk, I was just near Yarmouth and Freshwater the other day, there wasn't much blue sky, but still lovely. Still yet to go to Fort Victoria, thanks for sharing. Trying to remember if had fav pressie, my dad's train set that he shared was fun, loved getting parts for it, mini trees, bridges etc. Merry Christmas Marek!
Nice walk and great weather. We have just got back, and the weather last week was awful. Went to busy bee, very christmasy. Minic motorway was my best present. Looking forward to the Christmas video.
I remember coveting the Mr Frosty machine too! I treated myself to a grown-up shaved ice maker a couple of years ago during a heatwave, which was fun (but a bit annoying to store the other 51 weeks of the year!). I also always wanted the game Mouse Trap, but have still never even played it.
All about the electronics when I was a kid - I had an awesome Tomy racing car game with a steering wheel and gear stick thing, but also really wanted the Tomy Caveman game. Best present was probably the ZX Spectrum or any of the subsequent computers in later years. Mrs B recently bought a Mr Frosty for the kids so she could reminisce about her own childhood. Sadly though, it's absolute junk. It's too feeble to crush ice, makes a load of mess, and ours broke and went to the tip after about 3 disappointing uses
My best ever Christmas present was a toy drum kit when I was about 7, it had the 80s Top of the Pops logo on the bass drum. I'd seen it in the newsagent's window a few weeks before and professed my interest in it but i never tnought to ask Father Christmas for it. I had no skill at playing i just beat the hell out of it as fast and hard as possible. Were those things, bench seats surrounding a table with the tabletop removed? Well done ball bags.
A very snazzy "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen", you find some great songs Marek. 7:00 ok, this will probably make no sense, but that's par for the course at this point. Is that set up a place to store an inflatable vessel? Rather than deflate it, you tie it up & leave it there like a hat on a hat stand? I don't know, probably not, intriguing though. I think the childhood Christmas gift I got the most traction out of was my Raleigh bike. It had "Elysia Blackcurrant Crush" written on it & I remember looking "Elysia" up in the dictionary (pre internet) to see if it meant anything, seeing they must've been inspired by "elysian" & being proud I learned a fancy word, ha.
I found one that was up for auction eight years ago: www.the-saleroom.com/en-gb/auction-catalogues/warrington/catalogue-id-warrin10006/lot-5712a4ff-b209-47c9-849c-a453008c468d The songs are from the TH-cam Audio Library. Believe it or not, that was the least terrible Christmas one.
Did part of this walk when I was in year 6 (1996), problem was I was very into WW2 aircraft and kept imagining we were being dive-bombed by Stukka dive bombers, as a result i had to keep leading my family off the beaten track into the safety of the woods, thus causing delay. 😮😅
Nice One Cool Dude, Kat is going to be doubly excited to learn of the winner's name 🤣🤣🤣 My best Christmas present was a racing car game called Race & Chase by Matchbox, I was about 4 and it was already set up in the lounge when I came downstairs Christmas morning. My parents said Santa must have put it together for me *and I belived them*. Truly magical.
I didnt get any of the christmas presents I asked for. I asked for a guitar. My little sister got a guitar. I asked for a dog. My little brother got a dog. I had a racer bike and asked for a mountain bike when mountain bikes where the new thing... I got another exactly the same racer bike I already had. My mum said on christmas day "I wondered why that bike looked so familiar". I then just stopped asking for anything for christmas. True story.
Another thoroughly entertaining walk. I assumed your attention to the roof was due to excellent utilization of solar power, so I giggled at the pigeon concerns. As a kid, for Xmas I wanted a Stretch Armstrong, but also wanted the electronic/computer battleships game. Seemed so high tech. Finally, a question on the highly informative history lesson, isn’t Victoria Fort facing the wrong way to repel the French? Thanks for the smiles in 2023, Cool Dude, you are a goodun’! CD#123
Ah, nice, sunny walk round Yarmouth . At first I thought it was a repeat of the Eastleigh/Winchester walk (as per description) - it is Xmas after all. Besides - would Rowan have got a repeat fee? Best Xmas present? A Bontempi organ from the early 80s 🎹 - sounded like bagpipes, but I didn't care at that age...
My favourite present was a sky blue Raleigh Arena racing bike with (wait for it…) 5 gears! I even fitted a highly unreliable speedo counter to the front wheel and a kick stand too which always snagged the hem my school uniform trousers. Another great pressie was a Palitoy Merlin - that was a very nerdy but very cool gadget. Merry Xmas cool dudes
I thought you captured the sun beautifully there Marek. On the presumption that you are self-taught, I'd enjoy a short series on how you taught yourself to paint sometime. As for favourite Christmas gifts, that'd be 1. Lego (eventually passed on to a Polish builder's son) and 2. The New World Wonder Encyclopaedia 1963 (one of my most treasured possessions).
I still treasure all my old books, and my hobby this past year or so has been trying to track down copies of ones that I lost on ebay and World of Books.
Also asked for a Mr frosty every year for maybe 10 years when I was a kid. My mum finally got me one as a joke when I was about 30. It was very disappointing though. The ice didn't crush properly and flavour only lasted a single slurp 😢
2 things No... 3 1. Great vid as always 👌 2. We had coffee and snacks at that Boat House Cafe. A really lovely place. 3. Did you know about the land slip at Devils Chimney . Devastated about that. 😢 Can you do a report from there. Take care Marek. If I don't see you before.... have the best Christmas mate 🙂👍👋 Edit: dam... it was 4 things. 😂 4. Best present was like yours... but mine was Emu... as in the wonderful Rod Hull. I still sing the Weather Song. Do you remember it?
Merry Christmas Greetings from a new follower, subscriber and member. I’m enjoying your videos so much. Love the mix of walks, info, photos, art and im laughing so much. I always wanted a bike, never got one. Best present was an art set of pictures to colour, gel pens glitter in 1964. Keep spreading the joy!
I would like an Alternative Realities and States of Existence or A.R.S.E. Interdimensional Teleport Machine used by the Alternative 3 Organisation to explore the all the Multiverses, but I don't think they would sell me one for Christmas.
I really wanted a Tomytronic 3-D Sky Attack game (looked like a pair of binoculars) and I got one in Christmas ’86 and never took it off all year trying to beat my own high scores and now I have to wear glasses and I don’t think that’s a coincidence.
Couple questions for you. What were the number lanes in the road at the beginning of the video? What was the statue on the bench all about? Was that a sailor or a soldier?
Those were the ferry lanes for the cars. When you arrive they direct you to different lanes. I have no idea who the wooden man was cool dude, unfortunately there were no signs to explain his identity.
Those things are for playing a fun game called bash. Four players sit on each side of the square. The player that nobody likes very much gets up and places an extremety of their choice on the platform in the middle and each player on the outside takes it in turns to use a croquet mallet to "bash" the middle person. The winner is the one that makes them cry first. 😃 ..Or maybe they're BBQ areas. I always wanted a Big Trak but I never got it. I hate my life. 😒
You could possibly BBQ any bits that may detach in the process. And instead of humans just put bird seed on it and wait for the pigeons to lad. At least there is more skill involved and you can play it by yourself.
Tin can ally , I wasn’t allowed guns in the house .. my mother must have been shot in her former life in the gold rush in the Deep South 🤷♂️ . Anyway if you fancy an Island Wild collaboration camp out . Let me know .
Best present for me was the Looney Toons Monopoly. I loved playing Monopoly but no one else did. So I played all the pieces my self starting at 2 and working up to 8 pieces. I was always the Hat in the traditional game when someone would play with me. 🎩
You must be the only person who likes Monopoly. I can empathise. I was obsessed with American Football when I was young, but no-one ever wanted to play.
Beautiful Isle of Wight walk. I did have a Stretch Armstrong. I loved him, but he sadly met his demise with Taffy, our dog. My favourite Christmas gift was a wooden model sailboat my mother gave me. It's a lovely memory actually. Thanks for all of your videos this past year, Marek. I hope you and your family a wonderful Christmas.
Best Christmas Present Ever? What?.... you mean Mumps on Christmas Day when I was 5? Or possibly Christmas Day next week when I can shout F...O.. maybe to the worst Covid bout EVER? Oh, you mean toys I guess...well, my dad used to get me a little toy sweet shop every year when I could be a confectioner for about 5 minutes until all the little balls had gone & maybe a toy post office where I could be a Post Office stamp licker for a day (til all the stamps ran out)....Anyway Marek, looking forward with gusto to the Singing Reindeer shortly but in the meanwhile this video of one of my favourite areas of made me giggle a lot, which is no mean feat as it hurts to laugh at the mo....Merry Christmas & please keep making me laugh all next year too....x J x
@@cdwc Gus has flown the nest now. I have to assume he is an Ex-pigeon, as per the Parrot in Monty Python. But I can safely say I did NOT nail him to the windowsill...So I can assure you he is NOT the Covid culprit x J x
Best present: the complete collection of Calvin & Hobbes!
I bought that as a present for myself after doing a TV show that I hated. He was a genius.
Favourite Christmas presents - a bunch of Masters of the Universe figures, and then after everything was cleared away my parents 'forgot' another present that was hidden under the stairs and it was the Castle Greyskull playset.
Wow. That must have been a cool surprise.
A mega blocks lego set my dad bought me when i was 10.
Best gift ever. I still have it
That sounds cool dude.
I have done all your walks in my younger years, watching these takes me back........ Best present?? probably a Maj matt Mason and Sgt Storm space station.
I just googled it. Pretty cool dude.
Captain Scarlet action figure. I've still got it in my cupboard, I'm 65 and still waiting to grow up.
I must go back and do this walk with Zoe, lovely weather. Happy festive cooldude. Keep on walking
Captain Scarlet was cool. I liked the theme tune.
I was 'watching' this video while daydreaming and staring at my ceiling and suddenly you started shouting at me that I never look at you when you talk to me! Threw me for a minute, you knew I wasn't paying attention! Sorry Marek! Have a lovely Christmas!
I put it in the video especially for that moment.
One of my favorite presents to this day was a couple of sets of original polly pocket sized "a bug's life" toys where they had like these miniature little sets and cool things to set up made form tiny things and it was so cool. Yay

Never thought I would see Marek getting wood in the bath... 😂
Christmas wishes can come true.
Lol
I can still remember the excitement of getting Major Morgan for Christmas 🎶🎹
I remember that. I just watched a TH-cam video of someone playing one. It is a lot more low-fi than I remembered. Ha.
A near perfect afternoon's walk, nice one. Always wanted a model rail set - no matter how small - for Xmas but never got one. Probably just as well because it would've been the gateway to spending untold fortunes ceaselessly expanding it and an eventual pauper's grave. I don't have a car, so I still feel the same about my bike. Ha.
I’m still waiting for Santa to bring me a Big Trak......this year could be the year
My brother found one that got thrown out!!!
When I was young I would often ignore the presents and play with the box. Good times. I guess that phase passed when I grew too big to fit in them.
Maybe they need to start making bigger boxes.
Barbie Camper Van early 80s, it was amazing! I always wanted the Bluebird Ala Carte Kitchen..never got it!
My favourite thing about the Star Wars figures was possibly looking at the back of the box at all the different ones you could get.
Merry Christmas everyone, best wishes for 2024 !
Merry Christmas cool dude.
Great vid Marek. My best present was a 5ft snooker table. Played on that so much..
They were cool!
Scalextric was my best ever Christmas gift , Merry Christmas Marek !
I hope you get a new one this year cool dude.

I have only heard bad reports about Mr. Frosty in the comments, it was possibly the greatest marketing ploy of the 70's,80's and 90's.
Late to the party again.
My fave Christmas present as a child was either my Sindy house or my lights alive. My sister had a Mr Frosty(the tight cow never let me play with it). "Sconce point". "Sconce point". "Sconce point". Nice one.
Good isn't it.
@@cdwc Yes. "Sconce point". By the way, just letting you know that the link to your other channel doesn't work, cool dude.

Just watching Pointless on TV and I had no idea you are a celeb, I was like “this geeza looks like the cool dudes walking TH-cam guy!”
Saw you on "am I being unreasonable" and got very excited lol
Hi Marek,
Happy Holidays and a joyous and prosperous New Year 😊🎉
My favourite present was an old sewing machine, scrap material and some cotton bobbins. The pedal/electric plug didn’t work but you could still sew if you spun the wheel by hand. We weren’t well off so this present was really special. 😊
That sounds cool. I like creative presents. Have a wonderful Christmas cool dude.
Nice one, Ball Bags.
I hope Ball Bags enjoys the laces.
Why does Santa have such a big sack?
I had stretch monster but he split and oozed out green slime.
Maybe he was a REAL monster.
Roland rat teddy , still got it , only present I’ve ever got
I imagine you still cuddle him at night Hez.

Trying to remember if had fav pressie, my dad's train set that he shared was fun, loved getting parts for it, mini trees, bridges etc. Merry Christmas Marek!
I love all the brochures with all the different trees and objects you can buy.
Nice walk and great weather. We have just got back, and the weather last week was awful. Went to busy bee, very christmasy. Minic motorway was my best present. Looking forward to the Christmas video.
Sorry the weather was so bad. It has been the rainiest year I can remember.
Yes, it looked great from the advert. I bet it was a pain in the ass to set up.
Merry Christmas CD. That poor man on the bench looked petrified to see you again, maybe send in Sunglasses Marek next time as he is more of a charmer.
The bench man got turned into wood for copying other people's keyring photo ideas.
Never did get the Crossbows and Catapults boardgame for Christmas. Suppose I will have to give up after 40 years of waiting. Sad times.
I got it. I am sorry to report it was absolutely brilliant, one of my all time favourites.
This is another present that I loved the TV advert for but was never actually given...
All about the electronics when I was a kid - I had an awesome Tomy racing car game with a steering wheel and gear stick thing, but also really wanted the Tomy Caveman game. Best present was probably the ZX Spectrum or any of the subsequent computers in later years.

Yep, We All Need a Bit of A.R.S.E. every now and again. Especially for Christmas. Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year Marek Cool Dude.
I really wanted a Tomytronic 3-D Sky Attack game (looked like a pair of binoculars) and I got one in Christmas ’86 and never took it off all year trying to beat my own high scores and now I have to wear glasses and I don’t think that’s a coincidence.
Ha ha. I had the red one of those. It was really cool.
7:07 are they picnic tables for people with very long arms?
That's a bit of a stretch. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Not for Stretch Armstrong. grrrrrr@@cdwc
@@cdwc it was wooden, interesting.
..Or maybe they're BBQ areas.
I always wanted a Big Trak but I never got it. I hate my life. 😒
I really hope they are 'Bash' courts.
You could possibly BBQ any bits that may detach in the process. And instead of humans just put bird seed on it and wait for the pigeons to lad. At least there is more skill involved and you can play it by yourself.
They're BBQ areas
Tin can ally , I wasn’t allowed guns in the house .. my mother must have been shot in her former life in the gold rush in the Deep South 🤷♂️ . Anyway if you fancy an Island Wild collaboration camp out . Let me know .
Cool. Excellent channel. Watching now cool dude.
Please don’t ! 😂
A new video to enjoy! Xmas has come early, cool dudes
Hopefully there will be another one before Xmas. Double Christmas.
Can't wait for the garden centre walk - will be my best Christmas present ever!
Thanks cool dude. I expect a lot of Stretch Armstrongs were the victims of dogs. Have a great Christmas cool dude. :tre:
Get well soon cool dude. Maybe you caught Covid from that pigeon in your garden?
@@cdwc Gus has flown the nest now. I have to assume he is an Ex-pigeon, as per the Parrot in Monty Python. But I can safely say I did NOT nail him to the windowsill...So I can assure you he is NOT the Covid culprit x J x
