In my opinion... PTX has taken acapella from a niche genre to mainstream, and they've done it in a Very Big way! They have knocked down the door and opened it for so many other acapella groups that are now flourishing! Their vocals are Awesome and their Arrangements are Outstanding and next level Good. Their originals and covers are most times Awe Inspiring! They are My Favorite Group/Band!!🤗🙂🎶🎼
I do love the PTX spin they put onto their covers! I find when I listen to them or see a video I always have a smile on my face. I agree with Jennifer, their version of "Over the River" is epic! Great reaction Kabir!
PTX Christmas rabbit hole is a whole thing unto itself. They won a Grammy for Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy. So the Grammy went to the band without instruments for the song without words.
Great cover but for me the video adds so much to the performance on this one. Love the slightly dark and twisted take on an otherwise sugary sweet original. They all channeled their inner musical theater personas. Even Matt and Kevin opted in for the goth eye makeup. 🔥

Another group you may like to check out is ... Citizen Queen... Scott Hoying form PTX and Ben Bram put this group together and then the girls toured with PTX to see how they would go. In the video to their song This Christmas, you will see Scott, his partner and Matt from PTX appear to join the party.
As a producer and audio engineer I can only imagine what an absolute masterpiece the sound mixers pulled off on this. Respect. I would want absolutely nothing to do with a production like this LOL.

Just so you know . . . Pentatonix dropped a new song. 'My Heart With You'. It is kind of a sad/happy Christmas song. I think I know what the lyrics are about. But see what you think.
The smoke from the teapot is a super simple trick to do. It’s just dry ice and water. The CO2 reacts with H2O to create that smoke effect. It really doesn’t take much of either to do that. Just wear good gloves when you drop the dry ice in as dry ice is much colder than normal ice and can cause frostbite. You see it at Disney with the bubbling drink effect and in boba tea sometimes. I’ve used this to create a potion spewing smoke from a cauldron effect in a few video projects. It’s very safe to do if done correctly can really enhance things.
If you're in a Christmas acapella mood and don't mind a bit of a laugh, you should react to "12 Days of Christmas" by Straight No Chaser. They added parts as they years passed, so maybe react to a more recent version?
Collabro does sometimes and yes, I’m an American and have followed them since audition on BGT 2014. Seen them twice on US Tour NYC and Sellersville, PA flying 2000 miles to see them both times.

(now University) Also out of the same University is another great Accapella Group, ( inspired by Take 6) Commited! About 10 years ago. Try them. They are the bomb also. But this group that you're talking about is nice but new compared to the groups that I mentioned above. The Accapella Group Commited were on the TV 2nd season show The Sing-Off and won! I know some of them in the group. So please looked at both of these Accapella groups.. Beautiful music!! You'll love them!!!!!
