Beastmen gets my vote. The others you can at least send all of your armies and eventually overwhelm them. But Beastmen just teleport and go invisible. Even a weak Beastmen army drives me nuts.
Trying to find the beastmen to force them into battle to wipe them out is infuriatingly difficult. If you can’t reliably catch them in the beast path you best hope you can field enough armies to pin them down.
Or my favorite you chase them around forever and eventually lose them and have to focus on something else and the second you leave they show up and raze a settlement
Literally had Morghur jumping around and dying in the same provinces for more than twenty turns and his faction just. Did. Not. Fukkin. Die. 😂 just absurd and I couldn’t catch his invisible armies with my main one because auto resolve would’ve let me win instantly
Skaven by far. They used to be mainly lots of crappy, cowardly infantry with good mechanics and good artillery. Now they have done of the best ranged in the game, good monsters, and insane mechanics
Attack from multiple points at once , the guns would be too confuse to fire anything and they will fold in seconds. Also work with any range dominant army.

For me, its between tzeentch and vampire counts. Tzeentch because similarly to the wood elves, you can't take their territory as chaos wastes are uninhabitable for majority of factions, and then they always ambush because of the teleport stance, even when your in encampment stance. They also have that stupid change of the ways thing, which the AI will always target you with, as well as their armies just being a pain in the ass to deal with. Vampire counts simply because their legendary lords like Vlad and Manfred are just op, and you have to kill them about 30 times before wiping their faction.

Just as I imagined could happen, Throgg won, but thanks to a bit of foresight, I was on good terms with him and managed to restore the alliance in a few turns. You must never commit to alliances with unstable factions and warring tribal factions are the most unstable ones.
Surprised Tzeentch didn't make the list since you've got the strong Chaos infantry, Tzeentch daemon ranged attackers, pretty strong magic, barrier for added tankiness, changing of the ways causing headaches, stopping you chasing, stealing settlements, etc...and Teleport stance, because the ambush attacks from beastmen and skaven weren't quite obnoxious enough.

It seems like the AI doesn't attack Skaven settlements, views them as ruins but never checks. So the Skaven have no threat and constantly have the surprise factor combined 1 fielding 4 crapstacks from 1 settlement
I love fighting empire. Almost ever campiagn is basically just me steamrolling towards the empire and hoping there's something left for me by the time I get there.
I HATE beastmen horde factions. They just go ambush, destroy a settlement and disappear again. It takes like 20 turns to deal with a single idiotic army just wiping out your settlements
One time I was fighting Thorgrim, and I sent my spellcasters ahead to do some damage in advance. While I was distracted, the gyrocopters that he had vanguard deployed behind my army got 500 kills.
You forgot abot the fact that if you manually fight Skaven there is like 90% chance that the whole army will just route and come back to bite your ass later when you least expect it.
Kairos is by far the most annoying faction to face with. He is not the strongest, but taking him out is insanly hard due to the climate favoring him and hurting you. And his campaign map mechanics are absurdly annoying. Even Skaven are tame to me compared to him. How did you miss this guy in your list?
Louen Leoncoeur. Not the Bretonnians. Louen Leoncoeur. High health, Regeneration, and healing spells make him nigh invulnerable in combat. I have to bring in two full stacks and auto-resolve just to take him down. He’s like Napoleon in that regard. The Coalition didn’t declare war on France; they declared war on him specifically.
I was playing as the dwarfs and I had a small garrison and a lord fighting 2 whole army's of undead, but they were almost entirely low tear cannon fodder, idk how, but using only 9 dwarfs I won with no losses, love the dwarfs, that was the day I learned auto resolve ain't always right lol
Warp Lightning. The sound alone of that spell charging up is enough to make my hairs stand on end. And the other thing is Tomb Kings. Oh, you killed my best armies? Would be a shame if I could just recreate them instantly in the next province over. *PopPopPop*
Kislev.... Especially when you play Kislev yourself at the start. You think you crushed a unit down? They just recover due to their passive. Fighting longer, you take more dmg and take uneccesary dmg.... its annoying as hell and why I avoid mostly Kislev Campaigns. But for the Motherland!
Actually I find Nurgle and Empire easy preys to be honest. But yes Dwarfs (plus late game Chaos Dwarfs) and Skavens are really annoying to play against. I would add Hight Elves to 2nd place on your list to be honest though - mass of archers, a lot of good units too hard to beat/to kill and versality makes them dangerous opponents - their lords are also one of the best in the game (not only Legendary ones but generic ones - if you spend influence, of course).
Dark elves are the worst with their armor-piercing crossbows and I don't know about the rest of you but I'll run up against an army with 12 of them and five heros
The "Menace Below" in my opinion need some sort of nerf. As it is, while in the Skaven's style of being a sneaky mothertrucker, it's WAY too OP. Sure, the rats that it spawns get dispatched easily, but they are enough to momentarily stop artillery and ranged units from firing rendering them useless. A good way to nerf it, would be to limit the range of it and maybe add a campaign ability to anti-skaven buildings that reduces the uses of the skill
pff. Skaven got nothing on tzeentch. there's just nothing as infuriating as having your settlement swapped, your faction halted, and then your fortified army gets skaven-ambushed by some fucking lord of change.
Skaven are bad for the plagues as well. I can kill off Eshin, and Mors relatively quickly, but it's almost always Pestilens that causes the most trouble. Even if by turn 100 they haven't really won lustria bc lustria is a battle Royale of everyone except lizardmen, they're still super hard to dig out and will often take down one of your armies for every two of theirs, which against skaven is a problem
It is amazing how strong festus is, plagues and chaos warrior recruit system. Every campaign the empire gets halved by Festus alone. I want to fight humis and the all ded
4:25 *Their roster is truly massive* ...Now add to that more Regiments of Renown mod for all factions....And since Warriors of Chaos are technically 5 factions with Undivided, Khorne, Nurgle, Tzeetch, Slaanesh, you can guess that their ROWs are bloated to stupid proportions. Not to mention some of the broken units that's in there.
I think only the chaos faction are annoying. There are just too many of them. I absolutely hate that they not occupy settlements but rather destroy them. I played a campaign with Nagarythe and 9 of 10 factions i was in war with where chaos faction. So i occupied some settlements in the north and kinda struggle with my economy and then out of thin air he comes: Be'lakor. Thit Idiot is in war with the entire Empire and Bretonnia and choses to sail for 5 days to end my career. Will bringing all my forces down he managed to destroy 4 settlements and ruin my economy. Meanwhile Valkia and Prinz Sigvald got revenge and took all my freshly conquered settlements and 3 Norscan Tribes started to attack. So i killed Be'lakor and got all settlements back with my horrible economy and then dejavu: after 10 rounds Belakor is back with yet another 20 men army to ruin my career even more. Well i did all the same things but destroyed the faction. While that Naggarond with whopping 18 settlements and 4 armys from the west and 7 chaos armys from the north destroying everything. So i made the most outstanding move in history of warhammer: I closed WH3 and started a new campaign in WH2.
I would put Beastmen at number 1 honestly. Just due to the fact, that them not having settlements, makes them really hard to wipe out, once they just run away and hide.
Skaven with Clan Skyre is one of the most annoying factions for manual battle, dealing with Doomrocket each battle can delete or heavily weaken infantry units. Single or few entities units is literal counter this though getting beaten by tons of heavy and light firearms units instead. PS : Warp Lightning spell can delete even the sturdiest dwarf infantry units as well.
Dwarves are hard to beat even in normal. With the right tactics you can make someone rout when they're above half their health. Dwarves need to be reduced to like 8 units, out of a 90 unit regiment, to make them rout. But hey, at least they're great to beat the wood elves, since flame cannons out range their archers.
I feel like a lot of factions in Warhammer have difficulties when facing them and I think that shows an overall great design, though some do depend at what stage you meet them at in the game. - Skaven usually take a top priority to me, I see them, I Total War. "Non aggression treaty"? Counter Offer: *slaps desk* I Declare War, you bubonic bitch. They're a really subversive faction though, they really can snowball with the AI even if you're not close to them, and the Army can unexpectedly strong. - Lizardmen in the mid and late game are a faction I hate not auto-resolving. Spam of Horned ones, I usually turtle so they counter me very strong and the units that counter me are strong - Nurgle just for his campaign mechanics, I don't think as a faction he's anything too special but he's one of those you see and go, I've got to deal with you and I would rather not. Other factions have irritations like Wood elves and skirmish, if the campaign didn't feel such a chore, they're one of my favourite to play because the units are fun on the battlefield. I can't say I struggle too much against the Vampire factions, Greenskins or Beastmen. Though it can depend who I'm playing as. Beastmen are very strong though, just a not fun to play as.
Nah nah nah the wood elves are nummber one "We don't care about the outside world, we just want to perserve our homeland, now excuse me while i burn down nuln for the 50th time"
It’s Hellman ghorst for me, man can pull entire dolmstacks out of his ass. I ever killing 4 of his stacks in 1 turn, ending the turn and he pulled 3 more armies out of nowhere
Skaven being number is no surprise. They have super OP units and just. Never. DIE! So, yeah, Skaven are super annoying to fight, but super fun to play when the super OP stuff is in your hands and not the AI.
Yeah I wouldn't have even considered putting Dwarfs or Empire on this list. Empire is slightly annoying, but not enough to get top 10. Lizardmen are absolutely hellish to fight against and I'd put them in the top 3. Haven't really fought against Tzeentch enough to form much of an opinion on them, though
How is Tzeench not #1? They are the only faction that I have consistently hated dealing with since release. They can teleport on top of you to ambush. They can give your settlements to other factions or just steal them. They can make your armies suffer unavoidable attrition. Even without mentioning their solid roster, just their campaign mechanics make them an absolute nightmare.
vampire counts on legendary difficulty have a near 100% chance to raise dead their ENTIRE army if you beat them in battle the counter play to this is fighting them when theyre in march stance which is stupid af i think they deserve top 3 spot rather than a measly 6th place and no tzeentch? tf?
get a empire faction down to one settlement? well that sounds like a great time to confederate, one game i swear i was at war with the empire untill ALL empire factions where dead as they just kept getting confederated before i could klil them
honestly i want a toggle that lets me just turn off skaven they're a fun faction to play but the second i run into them in game im just not having fun anymore. life is too short to play games that arent fun
I've found the No. 1 rule with Beastmen is to always attack when as soon as they're discovered The first few turns of them turning up are easy to deal with, but leave them a moment longer and they quickly snowball into a major threat; rampaging through your backlines while being impossible to track down.
How tzeentch hasnt made the list baffles me, there is no counterplay to tzeentch army teleport stancing you and ambushing your troops with all their fiery bullshit. With the other factions on this list is there is counterplay. Tzeentch was busted even before the shadows of change, and now with the changeling theyre gonna be the most busted unbeatable faction in the game
I swear it’s the Beastmen the fact they can just jump through quantum space and vanish makes me want to send the PC through the wall

I'd rather fight skaven than chaos dwarves. Zhatan f'd up my level 20 Zhao Ming
i love the smell of gunpowder , steel clashing and sigma scream in the morning
It seems like the AI doesn't attack Skaven settlements, views them as ruins but never checks. So the Skaven have no threat and constantly have the surprise factor combined 1 fielding 4 crapstacks from 1 settlement
I love fighting empire. Almost ever campiagn is basically just me steamrolling towards the empire and hoping there's something left for me by the time I get there.
I HATE beastmen horde factions. They just go ambush, destroy a settlement and disappear again. It takes like 20 turns to deal with a single idiotic army just wiping out your settlements
Most/ least beginner friendly factions next?
One time I was fighting Thorgrim, and I sent my spellcasters ahead to do some damage in advance. While I was distracted, the gyrocopters that he had vanguard deployed behind my army got 500 kills.
You forgot abot the fact that if you manually fight Skaven there is like 90% chance that the whole army will just route and come back to bite your ass later when you least expect it.
Surprised there’s no Tzeentch here
Kairos is by far the most annoying faction to face with.
*PopPopPop*
Tzeentch with the teleport and magic
Kislev....
Especially when you play Kislev yourself at the start.
You think you crushed a unit down? They just recover due to their passive. Fighting longer, you take more dmg and take uneccesary dmg.... its annoying as hell and why I avoid mostly Kislev Campaigns.
But for the Motherland!
what motherland? the one that the rats just occupied?
'Unlike isabella's chest...' 😂
Actually I find Nurgle and Empire easy preys to be honest. But yes Dwarfs (plus late game Chaos Dwarfs) and Skavens are really annoying to play against. I would add Hight Elves to 2nd place on your list to be honest though - mass of archers, a lot of good units too hard to beat/to kill and versality makes them dangerous opponents - their lords are also one of the best in the game (not only Legendary ones but generic ones - if you spend influence, of course).
My worst enemy is Bretonia. They have so much Cavalry. Everytime I protect a flank, they find a new one, they can thrust their big bad cav into
It’s always a nice relaxing Nurgle campaign until Helman Ghorst declares war on me and wipes me out without breaking a sweat.
Tzeentch atleast top 2 for me alongside skaven... to them i completely agree :'D
Definitely. Teleport stance is basically the Skaven/Beastmen ambush attack, but *actually* uncounterable.
Chaos dwarves are stupidly op with their Siege engines
4:25 *Their roster is truly massive* ...Now add to that more Regiments of Renown mod for all factions....And since Warriors of Chaos are technically 5 factions with Undivided, Khorne, Nurgle, Tzeetch, Slaanesh, you can guess that their ROWs are bloated to stupid proportions. Not to mention some of the broken units that's in there.
Don't forget that the wood elves can also instantly recruit units
Tzeench and chwarfs for me. You either specilaise an army or double up as one army is gonna get fucked
Lightning strike hard counters wagghs for the greenskins. If you wipe out the host army the waggh army disappears without ever needing to fight it.
Queek is usually bulldozing the Badlands by like turn 25 lol
Spam of Horned ones, I usually turtle so they counter me very strong and the units that counter me are strong
- Nurgle just for his campaign mechanics, I don't think as a faction he's anything too special but he's one of those you see and go, I've got to deal with you and I would rather not.
Nah nah nah the wood elves are nummber one
"We don't care about the outside world, we just want to perserve our homeland, now excuse me while i burn down nuln for the 50th time"
It’s Hellman ghorst for me, man can pull entire dolmstacks out of his ass. I ever killing 4 of his stacks in 1 turn, ending the turn and he pulled 3 more armies out of nowhere
Tzeench deserves first place simply by having the ability to ambush you every single time.
Skaven being number is no surprise. They have super OP units and just. Never. DIE! So, yeah, Skaven are super annoying to fight, but super fun to play when the super OP stuff is in your hands and not the AI.
Hold on, you can attack an army besieging a settlement using the garrison itself?? 11:10
I either ally with skaven super early or I go for the throat and end them immediately. 😂😂😂
I auto resolve all Wood Elf battles.
Yeah empire and dwarves on this list but not lizardmen and tzeentch is criminal
Yeah I wouldn't have even considered putting Dwarfs or Empire on this list. Empire is slightly annoying, but not enough to get top 10. Lizardmen are absolutely hellish to fight against and I'd put them in the top 3. Haven't really fought against Tzeentch enough to form much of an opinion on them, though
I hate fighting against the Skaven so much..
Thats why i only play skaven
Skaven main❤🐀
Tzeentch should be number 1.
How is Tzeench not #1? They are the only faction that I have consistently hated dealing with since release. They can teleport on top of you to ambush. They can give your settlements to other factions or just steal them. They can make your armies suffer unavoidable attrition. Even without mentioning their solid roster, just their campaign mechanics make them an absolute nightmare.
vampire counts on legendary difficulty have a near 100% chance to raise dead their ENTIRE army if you beat them in battle
the counter play to this is fighting them when theyre in march stance which is stupid af
i think they deserve top 3 spot rather than a measly 6th place
and no tzeentch? tf?
I still remember dwarfs during tww2 basically being unkillable and snowballing every game the orcs legit never won during that time
I love Vlad it's so fun to rush Sylvania with 3 armies and wipe them out in 5 turns. That way you only have to fight Vlad 5 times.
Skaven, skaven, skaven, skaven!! Its the only end crisis I turn off. Once was enough for me
get a empire faction down to one settlement? well that sounds like a great time to confederate, one game i swear i was at war with the empire untill ALL empire factions where dead as they just kept getting confederated before i could klil them
Tzeentch and Skaven.
Viking: Battle for Asgard stream when?
Idk if Thoreks on here but its definitely Thorek. Who tf needs so much armor AND resistance. He’s not even strong he’s just a legitimate wall.
honestly i want a toggle that lets me just turn off skaven
they're a fun faction to play but the second i run into them in game im just not having fun anymore. life is too short to play games that arent fun
If I was making this list it would just be the greenskins 10 times
If Bretonnia Ai is better a could a menace to the players.
Vampires aren’t too bad to fight if you play a faction that can quickly kill lords. Looking at Cathay with their Crane gunners/ dragons
I've found the No. 1 rule with Beastmen is to always attack when as soon as they're discovered
The first few turns of them turning up are easy to deal with, but leave them a moment longer and they quickly snowball into a major threat; rampaging through your backlines while being impossible to track down.
I don't see how you can make this list and not include Tzeentch . Definitely number 1 for me
How tzeentch hasnt made the list baffles me, there is no counterplay to tzeentch army teleport stancing you and ambushing your troops with all their fiery bullshit. With the other factions on this list is there is counterplay. Tzeentch was busted even before the shadows of change, and now with the changeling theyre gonna be the most busted unbeatable faction in the game
Lots of people saying tzeentch. Ive personally always found them easy to fight.
You just gotta go hard melee.
The 11th faction must be CA itself.
Chaos dwarfs.
Yes-yes. All as scheme-planned.
Oh easy:
1. Skaven
2. Skaven
3. Skaven
4. Skaven
5. Skaven
6. Skaven
7. Skaven
8. Skaven
9. Skaven
10. Skaven
Me and my buddy call their area of the content Vietnam, cause you just getting fucked up in the jungle.
wheres Tzeench?)))
I only autoresolve Skaven, especially if Skryer because of the fucking NUKE
Tzeench for me
chaos dwarfs by very far the worse enemy, its absurd how strong they are, real blitzkrieg in battles
