  • High blood pressure HYPERTENSION is very common BUT MOST DOCTORS CALL IT ESSENTIAL HYPERTENSION - we don’t know why but you have it, it will likely kill you and you will be on meds for the rest of your life. I had a terrible experience with semaglutide, but at the time, I was still eating lots of sugar. I was trying to lose weight so as to avoid having to take bp meds.
I wasn’t checking my bp at the time, but whenever I was at dr or hospital it was hovering at 180/99 and upwards.
After stopping semaglutide, I did get onto Carvedilol 6.25/2x day and one hydrochlorothiazide per day.
My eGFR has fallen from 53 to 50 to 46, with low sodium levels, so my regular doctor has stopped the water pill. She wants to put me on Jardiance (forget it!), but if it would control my blood pressure to go back on a GLP-1 agonist, maybe I could get off Carvedilol as well.
Thank you, Dr. Cywes! You have info no one else is publicizing! I’m very thankful! I will certainly discuss this possibility with my doctors!
I’m now on modified carnivore and slowly reducing my few remaining carbs. You’ve made me wonder if I should consider semaglutide or another diet drug (my anti-aging doctor said he now had a better one, but I was not interested).
No one ever told me that these GLP-1 agonists would reduce blood pressure.
I will send a message to my patient care specialist immediately.

My blood pressure is fine until the Dr takes my bp, I feel my heart race and bp rise and then it’s high, very high, at home it’s good, 118/ 64 or so. I’m on keto now for 9 months. Still not good when I go to the doc and get my bp, it’s a phobia. Also, I would like to say that sleep apnea causes high bp as well.

There have been Lawsuits for Ozempic and also Trulicity and I believe other similar medication, I stopped taking it about six weeks ago and still check my morning glucose and it has stayed down, 94 this morning however I started carnivore October of 2023 and still doing this woe. I had 190/110 after switching 3months keto to carnivore. Increased fat( high fat carnivore), added salt, as some internet doctors suggested. I walk every morning at 5am, then lift weights, then work physically. I am LMT.
So after about 3 months on carnivore, my BP was up to 190/110. I panicked..ended up in ER, took several days meds,( which never in my life had to take any), and started doing some research what caused it.
I added back some lettuce, brussel sprouts, lemon juice, cucumber, avocado, stopped eating pork belly instead of proceeded bacon, and lowered sodium. Started drinking Hibiscus tea and Hawthorn extract as BP treatment instead of meds.
My BP went down to 120/80.
Doctors still have know idea what caused the high BP! In ER doc said i have an anxiety and prescribed depression med!!
I came to conclusion, that extreme diet ( meat only) was probably too much stress for my body... 😊

I had a stroke just over 3 years ago. Due to COVID my wife had to drop me at the emergency room front door, I was seen to in about 10 minutes. My BP at that time was 265/133. They started to work on me immediately. I spent a total of 5 days in 2 different hospitals. When I was discharged I was a mess, but alive. This could have turned out a lot worse. My wife got me out walking the next day, my foot dragging a bit leaving a trail in the snow as I shuffled around the neighbourhood. Recovery has been long and painfully slow. I'm still off work, and tire easily. Still have some weakness, muscle tightness and weird sensations. If you suspect you have high blood pressure get it seen to immediately.

I always find your videos insightful and helpful. However, whilst I am not a dentist, I did make an interesting observation a few years ago. For months I was putting off dental treatment and my BP was rising no matter what I did or medications I was put on. I finally went to my dentist and had a tooth pulled. On my next checkup with my GP, my BP had dropped to more normal levels. I do find that most doctors talk about medications first and often forget to refer a person to a dentist for just a checkup.

My husband, who is thin and not insulin resistant, has secondary hypertension and is still salt sensitive on a carnivore diet. He also has regularly suffered from CO kidney stones (58 yo) so we're working with a nephrologist to see if it is kidney related hypertension. In the meantime, we've been trying different supplement/electrolyte combinations to try to lower his BP naturally without success. I've been taking 1000mg of Taurine every evening to verify it doesn't have any ill effect on me before adding to my husband's supplement regimen. My BP is normal but I think it lowers it just enough before bedtime to help with sleep for me. Is there anyone out there who has dabbled with Taurine for lowering BP? There are RCTs in pubmed that show an efficacious correlation.
If this doesn't work, I've threatened to chase him around the house to get him some exercise because I know that helps! 🤣

In addition to hypertension, I had daily attacks of very high BP. 170/110, 180/120, and higher. A doctor threw out all medication and gave me a little of everything. An ARB, a CCB, hydrochlorothiazide (HCT) and bisoprolol. Within a week, my BP was below 140/90, which for years was impossible. With the benefit of hindsight, I can now say that 25mg HCT and 5mg bisoprolol changed everything. The goal is to stop all medication and I am close but not there yet. GLP-1, you said?

What about the possibility of incorporating a natural substance that promotes the production of GLP one? For instance, yerba maté tea, and alluose.Professor Ben Bickman has spoken about both of these stimulating GLP one, and since I’ve been drinking the Yerba mate tea I’ve taken myself off that last little bit of blood pressure medication that I was taking, because my pressure had gone so low, and now my daily morning blood pressure is somewhere around 111/72. Could it be because I started drinking the yerba maté tea? And yes, I have gone carnivore. But my blood pressure was still staying up there a little bit.

This dietary change will not "treat insulin resistance" instantly. I know from experience that for many it takes years and then their blood pressure drops. Too short a time to comment on the fact that even though the values are already fine, the blood pressure is still high. But people are impatient.
I believe what was said here. And that blood pressure had to be brought down as a result of a life-threatening situation. But my own experience is that hey, these problems in the body will not be fixed in months or a year.
I would just emphasize that when this patient's story is told in a comprehensible way and how it was treated, it should also be told that things will not be fixed in 90 days. Even if you are already thin and your blood values are fine. This happened to me, for example. But by continuing in the long term, everything has gradually improved. Blood sugar which is already normal, in a way, has come down and down even after the a1c has been 4.8.
Of course, as the doctor knew how to treat the situation, interventions have their place. Let's keep in mind that the body is getting better. All at different paces. But let's say it takes time.
I just took my blood pressure. Normal below 110, wasn't there before.

My BP was dangerously high a couple years ago and they put me on the BP meds. I have tried everything to get off of them. Makes sense that you can treat hypertension with Ozempic after the fact, after you have made the dietary changes and exercise regularly. Just not sure if I can convince my doctor of the same thing.

Dr Ken Berry has a BP video in which he states that 140/90 and below is considered normal? And in your video 110/60and bellow is normal?
    Confusing now

    • @chestrockwell8328
      @chestrockwell8328 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

Perhaps Dr. Berry is referring to a range that is below medical intervention and Dr Cywes is stating an Ideal range. From what I've seen over the past few months BP in the 140/90 range was considered high normal though some Docs feel those numbers are now considered "high" and medical intervention should be used. These same docs believe numbers like 130/85 or 125/80 are the new "normal high". sort of like how normal Cholesterol used to be 300, and now some docs consider 200 to be time for meds. Yeah, it's all confusing unfortunately.

I'm still in the beginning stages of Carnivore/ketovore and I'm noticing my BP rising at times throughout the day. I've not had this problem before. Could it be related to low potassium? My systolic pressure seems normal, but the diastolic number gets up around 95. I am on Lisinopryl 20 mg. It usually is responsive to medication but doesn't seem like it is now. When I eat, it seems to normalize then it rises again. I don't like it when I feel off and I don't know how long I should just keep at this WOE. Wondering if I should bring back vegetables and just eat low carb.

@@robertcywes2966 Is that mean that patient no matter how good and strict he is in carnivore diet his body still not producing enough GLP 1 to shut down glucagon and release more insulin for glucose clearance ? But his C peptide is in normal range, his Ab1c is good, fasting insulin low, there is no logic? Maybe, we know insulin is needed for vasodilation and nitric oxide production, maybe his epithelium cells are still resistant to insulin at his base fasting level and need more insulin to relax vasel and that's how GLP1 actually lower pressure? I belive low carb, carnivore diet is good way to naturally improve GLP1 secretion he just need more time to recover his epithelium cells sensitivity to insulin. Also, there is some studies showing that berberine is like natural booster for GLP1, yerba mate, green and black tee as well. For people who can't get ozempix maybe thay should try this? Please, I'd like to learn in depth how GLP1 lower his blood pressure and all I can find on youtube is how GLP1 help in diabetes and weight lose.

What do you mean you don't believe in it? It's a thing, allot of people lose weight while taking it, however if that's not accompanied by a modified lifestyle (diet wise) the rebound is bad I've heard. If one uses it as a crutch to make the necessary changes they win in the long term. Like most drugs there will be before unknown off label uses that can be beneficial but studies need to be done before it will be used like that broadly.
