I work the yard where The repairs are being done. Probably won't be here when it pulls in, but it would be neat. Well, either way, at least I'll have plenty of time to see it while it's here.
It would be nice if the I-10 bridge could be renamed in Honor of the "The Kidd". That way the bridge will finally have a name everyone likes. Instead of saying I-10 bridge one can simply say "USS Kidd Veterans Memorial Bridge, or "The Kidd" for short. Traffic reporters can simply say" major pile up on the USS Kidd Bridge" sounds Kool too me😊
Not exactly "not allowed to", but rather they'd have to completely gut the ship to remove the boilers and give her new ones. Mr Tim nesSmith talked about this is a comment. It's not that her current ones don't work, it's just that we don't want to risk putting them under such high pressure again.@@Grayald

My dad is the one operating!!
Is parks stephenson really in Houma Louisiana? Wish i could meet him
She like her sisters The Sullivans and Cassin Young are 80+ years old
Is there funding to make her run under her own power again? That would be awesome!
As I understand it, it's not allowed to. Something to do with a treaty or a contract something.

The Department of the Navy specifies that museum ships cannot run under its own power ever again.
