I really feel George Michael had one of the greatest voices of all time. He could sing just about any genre there is. Even Frank Sinatra or Tony Bennett couldn't do that. His singing transports one to another place. George usually did covers BETTER than the original. My other favorites beside this one that I would love to see reviewed: The smooth Soul filled First Time Ever I Saw Your Face, oh my God his rendition of Desperado and of course the spine-tingling Somebody to Love. Even Paul McCartney was in awe of George Michael's rendition of his song The Long and Winding Road. The world lost so much when George's light was extinguished😔. He was a truely brilliant artist.

I think Elton John is the most underrated singer of all time. People say I'm crazy but I believe his songwriting, stage persona, piano playing, outfits, drug use, his homosexuality, his football club, AIDS foundation, etc. and everything else in his life overshadowed his incredible singing skills. He has too much going on in his life, especially talent wise that we take his voice for granted. We just assume he's going to sound good every time, which he usual does, and don't think about the incredible rare gift of a voice that he has. There's a reason why he's so iconic and legendary.

George Michael, what can I say? Been a fan since I was (very) young, music taste has changed over the years, but my love for his music has never stopped. I'm someone who loves originals. Regardless of whether it's movies or music. I'd list some examples, but then people will say mean things and hate me. So, I'll just stick to Elton John's Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me. It was one of my favorites, until I heard this version. It's absolutely, stunningly brilliant!! I listened to the first half of the song with my mouth half open!! It's by far, the best collaboration I've ever heard, of any song. This reminds me of those commercials decades ago advertising cassette tapes for recording music. Their claim was you couldn't tell whether it was a live or recorded performance. The ad line was, "Is it live or is it Memorex?" LOL

For whatever reason, some live performances are absolutely epic. This is definitely one of those!
I’m a guy who listens to metal music but being an 80’s kid I love so many genres of music because the music of that decade was so fantastically diverse and we also still had music of the great 70’s being played on the airwaves and music of the 60’s played on record players from our parents and it was unbelievable. We were spoiled. But I truly love all kinds of music, except for rap I guess, but I digress. I appreciate all good music and this is a perfect example, truly one of the great duet’s, and that’s saying something.
Btw, this is in my humble opinion, THE best vocal performance by George Michael.

Context makes this performance even better. This was one of Elton John's first, if not the first, performances he did after he recovered from cocaine and alcohol addiction and bulimia. He is fresh out of the hospital here and said he was very anxious about it. At the end, you can see him say "Thank you" to George Micheal.

Please, please react to Brother Can You Spare a Dime. George sounded phenomenal when he sang this live version at the concert Pavarotti and Friends. I find that a lot of people reacting to George seem to react to the same songs over and over. It would be really refreshing to react to some thing that has not had a lot of airplay but still ranks as some of his best work. This will not disappoint. It will bring tears to your eyes.

After Live Aid when George didn't let Elton sing the parts (Check it out), they didn't speak for 6 yrs, until this tour when George apologized and invited Elton to join him in major cities. They were friends up to George's death. This and George's duet with Aretha on I was waiting for You, are ICONIC.

I was at the preceding gig on the Cover to Cover Tour by George where this is from (I 'think' it was the preceding one, cos it was a while ago lol) when Elton didn't appear and it was still as good.
