I've been plant based for over 2yrs now & my chronic pain is far less after kicking dairy to the curb. I started with topical olive oil on my recently diagnosed arthritic knees & the effect has been surprising! I was sceptical despite the science. I mean come on, rubbing olive oil into your knees doesn't sound like a thing that will do anything. It sounds like it's right up there with crystals & 9ther space cadet stuff BUT it's helping. Significantly. Far less stiffness & less pain. I made it thru the grocery shopping for the first time in 2 yrs!
Thank you for sharing this bit of science Dr Gregor. It's made a significant difference to my life

Is there any hint why this works?
I'm sitting here smelling like a Greek salad, wondering how olive oil has given me my life back.
I'm still not sure that this relief will stick or if it's real. I still feel silly advocating topical olive oil. Maybe if I had a clue why it's working, I might not feel so ridiculous....

I started to have hip pain and diagnosed with arthritis in my late 40s. I have been all my life quite healthy , very active, eating a health diet compared to the average American.Once diagnosed, I started researching what I could. I therefore switched to plant based lifestyle which has helped everyone in my family! Dr Greger books and informations has been instrumental in this transition. Sadly, 4 years later, dietary changes did not help my arthritis symptoms at all and I am now heading for a hip replacement. This is, of course, my experience. However, I will remain on a plant base lifestyle as I, simply put, just love it!

However, I did water fast for just 48hours and it was a super powerful experience. That did eliminate a lot of pain and a lot of other things from my system. I recently had reactive arthritis. It was so painful. It means you get it due to a primary infection that causes a secondary infection. It was horrendous. Anyway, I used topical olive oil, a plant based diet and obviously antibiotics to get well. I had to take the latter for the primary infection, not to cause severe consequences.

What cleared my m-i-l’s joint pain was CBD oil. She used to sit on hot water bottles, with every part of her body bandaged on tubigrips. Now, she is tubigrip-free, hot water bottle-free and only needs paracetamol once a month. The only change in her daily routine was CBD oil. Maybe it would help for your mum. ?

I gave it a crack. I wasn't hopeful. Mostly because everyone has some weird thing that they swear will make your pain vanish overnight & it's so crushing after many years of hoping that this drug/surgery/treatment/thing will give me my life back & you invest in it & it fails 😔
I tried it this time because it was Dr Gregor, it's cheap & if it doesn't work I can use the oil for cooking.
My partner grabbed a good EVOO that's produced locally & I tried it.
It's not a miracle cure but it's helping. Today is a bad day, rain is coming but I can walk. The pain is there, not as bad & the stiffness is far less. My knees are still crunchy but I've only been using it for 3 days.
It might be placebo but I made it thru grocery shopping yesterday for the first time in 2 years. I'll take that
I get not wanting to try yet another treatment. I think this one is worth a shot. It's cheap & the worst that can happen is the skin on your arthritic bits gets really soft & you smell like a Nonna
Watch for oil stains tho 😆
