This is what we used to called jheri curls hair in Jamaica back in the 80's and 90's I never had it but it makes your hair grow fast and long no matter how short your hair was. It was 2 styles one called the wet jheri curls and the dry jheri curls but all I know you're hair stay curly for month and it grows. Good job mama I like it.
Speaking as a cosmetologist, I did a lot of cold waves in my life. The best cold wave out there is (WAVE NOUVEAU) It would have been much silkier if relaxing cream was left in a bit longer, and then trim her ends, before applying the curling solution, also, using larger rods, would also give nice big curls. The hair would be fuller and the hair wouldn't look stringy. Always trim the ends when you process virgin hair. Trust me, The results would be gorgeous. Wear gloves next time darling, chemicals would mess up your hands.

Now I’m natural and I love it it’s a job but u have to be consistent with it , but to each it’s own
It definitely had a smell. My maternal grandmother had a the jheri curl. My mother and my uncle. That smell wasn't good. My mom and my uncles hair grew, but my grandmother not so much

A few years ago after the so called natural hair movement was in full force, I predicted the jheri curl would be back. Why? Too many people loading up on products to "define the curl" in their 4c hair and not getting the results they want.
I have seen many curl perms performs but I have never seen one performed without rolling paper .. or seen it performed so tacky ..wow but the hair came out beautiful.. this goes to show everyone have their own technique to achieve the same curly look fantastic.

It looks like the Jerri Curl I use to do years ago. I use to use larger rollers on my hair because I wanted the blowout curl look. My hair looked like I had pressed and curled it with large curlers. I was wondering when the Jerri Curl was coming back.
Seriously, please use gloves. My mom was a beautician and she didn't like to wear gloves. All those chemicals really took a toll on the skin on her hands.

A perm rod set without all the chemicals would’ve looked better to me all she would have had to do was use a heavy leave in conditioner with water and let it air dry completely her hair texture was beautiful before she changed it not judging she should watch some videos of perm rod and flexi rod sets it does the same thing and actually get better curls

Her new growth will be natural. This is a chemical process that CAN'T Be REVERSED. This IS a Jheri Curl. The new growth must be retouched just like a relaxer. Also the hair must be moisturized everyday. If the hair becomes dry it will cause breakage.
